Cosmic Writings

Cosmic writings, scrawlings on the wall. Who doesn’t love ‘em? I certainly do. I love the idea of spelunking a dark cave, or sinkhole, that slowly develops to be a deep, elaborate, and cavernous system. I attempted as much as I could, to avoid the ‘cave-cavernous’ redundancy in the same sentence, but couldn’t help it. I listen to music about the stars, and in this state, I can even speak to them.

Anyhow, this cave turns to be a temple of some kind, with knowledge of the stars hidden deep, deep beneath the natural layer of life there. Of course, it will be dangerous to spelunk this, but that’s why I’ll bring you along. So come on. Let’s go on an adventure to learn about the stars and beyond. It’s the only through-line back passing all of life, and matter, for that matter, in the known universe.

So we owe it to ourselves to explore it.

There’s dream in my speech, I know you can hear it. We want to see it, the purples and the fuchsias light up the skies in that smoky, wispy way that clouds do, only beyond, where things are brighter, way beyond, in a far, far away place. Those who know, know what I’m talking about, and will likely see it reflected one day in something I write and hope to get off of the ground.

It’s so sweet, a gentle, sweet story that I hope people commiserate with. It has the makings of a cult classic if I simply just-... nail this fucking pilot. I really believe in this idea and I guess that’s why I’ve been treating it so tenderly. This has quickly devolved into another rant about my wanton insecurity, and for that I apologize, I’m stoned out of my mind and meeting my boss today.

And just like that, the illusion is shattered; no more magic, no more travel, we’ve stopped entirely. You see me as I am, a piece of shit that was able to sell you on just a little bit of magic for a while.

Was it as good for you as it was for me?

Was it even worth it at all? Like, what’s the point even, of trying in that way? Wanting to be seen like that, slowly seducing, or at least attempting to seduce someone or many someones into a life far different from their own. Sure, we’d be happy, probably. There are imaginably, limitless possibilities when exposed to raw cosmos potential.

The universe is pretty fucking big, but I’ll try not to be too cynical about it.

I’ll just try to do my best to make people happy while I’m here, and give emotionally more than I take. That’s all I can ever hope to do. Maybe I’m trying to assuage my guilt over something, but I need to get this out, or it’ll rattle around in my head all day, as something I could’ve chosen to write, but chickened-out on. So here it is, me whining again.

I always feel like the worst kind of character redemptions (other than redemptions where a character immediately redeems themselves after one conversation) are ones where the villain is betrayed and so they switch sides, and it's treated like they've become a better person.

#txt #it was one of my biggest pet peeves with how catra's redemption was handled (As well as everyone being her bff lol)#kid cosmic did this too but chuck was funny so i was fine with it #i think rise of the tmnt handled this concept the best. draxum was betrayed but it didn't mean he's a good guy now #he was a wanted criminal who only accepted help from mikey because he needed a place to hide #and then they slowly bonded and he gradually reforms himself #i love shit like that
