The gauntlets for my Guild Wars 2 cosplay are done, other than sanding and painting! I still intend to finish this costume lol, it's just taking me extra time because life. All pieces are made of worbla over foam or cardboard, or by itself. The gloves are made from the same fabric (hand-dyed by me) as the rest of the costume. Everything is fully articulated to move with my hand and arm. The only armor piece I have left is the upper arm. Then it's just wiring, sanding, painting, and styling the wig! Woo! I'm pretty excited for this cosplay. Not only is it the most complex and difficult costume I've built, but it has also been with me through some tough times. At some point, I'll have to put all the pieces on and share some pictures :-)

Still a long way to go with the pattern of Adars breastplate *sigh*

I decided to include a seam in the center to make it fit my body a little bit better, i'll fill it in and sand it until it's not visible anymore but the effect will be worth it i think.

Having to work with very little reference material due to the non-existent lighting in this show is not easy... ( ╥ω╥ ) Also still shopping around for ideas on how to make his chainmail... Those tiny elven chain rings are no joke and i do not have the patience to craft a whole knee-length chainmail out of them. (⇀‸↼‶)

This if my first cosplay I’ve ever helped create from the ground up (although most of this was crafted by my partner, including the chain mail that he knocked out of the park) and I couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out. Chandra Nalaar was the first character in the MTG universe I was drawn to and she remains my favorite planeswalker, so this was absolutely a passion project for me. I can’t wait to wear this one again!

rly wanna get more into the cosplay community itself this yr but its so intimidating that i don't feel comfortable even bothering like i feel like i'm not going to be on the same level as everyone else or be able to find my people everyone seems so cool and they diy everything themselves and they have access to all these tools and materials and they're going to cons literally all the time and i like. don't even have access to a sewing machine and my attempts at eva foam armor have been ass. ik realistically to get better i need to keep trying and everyone starts somewhere but i feel... so inadequate
