The Crow (1994) dir. Alex Proyas

The Batman (2022) dir. Matt Reeves

Since the first trailer for The Batman, I really enjoyed the sincere gothy style that’s heavily reminiscent of The Crow (as well as other officially cited references) being used for a more accurate adaptation of Batman. I love the Burton movies, especially for that very stylized look and feel, but the characterization and story miss the mark quite a bit. So it’s just cool that we got to see the lore, the visual, and narrative tones all finally line up
