one of the things I love about Rik is that he’s so eclectic 

he can be seen as an 

actor (either with comedy,drama,cameos in films like American Werewolf in London aesthetically he’s that mix of the punk like rebel and the classic cinema darling (If you see his roles in some comic strip films like Counsela or Fistful of Travelers Cheques he’s clearly inspired by old cinema)

a stage actor

a comedian 

a singer (via Bad news and his football anthem)

a writer

a kids show presenter/narrator (Grimm tales,jackanory etc.)

a advertiser (Nintendo,Andrex and other companies)

a political commentator 

a symbol of alternative comedy  and uk entertainment 

a collaborator (who would work with many well known producers,directors,actors and he even did a comedy sketches for a few charity audio cds that also featured Suggs of Madness and Lenny Henry) 

a 1980s/1990s icon (you couldn’t escape him he was either on TV,in drop dead Fred,narrating or advertising video games,on stage anywhere)

a star of early 2000s drama shows (The Bill,Jonathan Creek,Midsummer Murders,Miss Marple etc.)

a performer (with almost every performance he showcased so much energy,charisma and every character he played had a charm to them even if the character was ugly he made them beautiful) 

a dad (a very loving father and husband)

a legend (On stage,onscreen,off screen everywhere)

a God (his mantras,his everything)

he’s all of those things 

he was the Lord of misrule and we shall all gather for our fallen leader reading his poems about Theatre.
