༻`` 11 Feb 24 — Sunday
100 days of productivity 42/100
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Took the weekend to rest and finish off homework (I got all the physics finished!). I'll spend the week cleaning, making notes and doing coursework. Also did a bit of research on a few small topics that interested me and aterted (finally) reading the bible. Just 1 chapter today.
30 day new year momentum challenge 3/30
What does your ideal study plan look like this week?
Reviewing notes pretty much right after school and again before bed, adding a bit to my notes and doing at least 1 question either of 1 subject or from each, depending on how many I really do and how much homework I've been given that day. My goal is still to study 2hrs per day and I've hit that twice so far, but I've also hit above the 1hr 30 mark a good number of times.

Updates and stuff
As I enter the last semester of my political science degree, thought I’d give some life updates
- Got straight HD’s in my coursework (A+‘s for our American friends). The courses I took this semester were—a compulsory research methods course, comparative voting behaviour, and comparative political institutions.
- I finally have a clear idea of what I’m doing for my thesis, including a question, title, literature, & emerging data set. And I know where my work falls in the literature, and what the issues are, so slay for that.
- I was diagnosed with Autism a few weeks ago. I have very high support needs right now, and am in the process of receiving help for that (I can slay academically, but not in my personal life management etc).
- And, most importantly, I got tickets to see Taylor Swift on her Australian tour. I’ve been a fan of hers since the late 2000s (for so long I don’t remember when I originally became a fan, but I remember listening to our song and you belong with me on the radio. Probably the first YouTube videos I ever watched as well. I checked out a bit when her music wasn’t on streaming since it was so hard to listen to her, but have been fully recommitted since about 2015/16….It’s been a long time coming).
So yeah, that’s me for now. This semester I’m writing up my thesis & hopefully starting work at some point, so I’ll keep you all updated on how that process is going and where I’m at. Thanks for sticking around

Hello,
I’m doing a piece of English coursework about the differences between autistic and non-autistic spoken language. I would really appreciate it if I could get some responses to this questionnaire so that I can collect as much data as possible. Ideally, I would like responses from both autistic and non-autistic people. Thank you! :)

Unleash Your Learning Potential: The Feynman Technique 🚀
Student life often comes with the challenge of grappling with complex concepts and information. The Feynman Technique, named after the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman, is a simple yet powerful method to master any subject, especially the trickiest ones. What is the Feynman Technique? The Feynman Technique comprises four straightforward steps:
Select a Concept: Pick the concept, topic, or subject you wish to master or study. It could be a tough textbook chapter, a complex theory, or a brand-new idea.
Teach It Simply: Imagine you're explaining the chosen concept to someone else—whether a friend, a family member, or an imaginary student. Use everyday language and real-life examples to make it as clear as possible.
Identify Gaps: While you explain the concept, you might stumble upon gaps in your knowledge or areas where you struggle to simplify it. These gaps highlight where you need to focus your learning efforts.
Review and Simplify: Return to your study materials (like textbooks, lecture notes, or online resources) to fill in those knowledge gaps and deepen your understanding. Keep breaking down complex ideas into simpler terms until you can explain the concept effortlessly. Why Does It Work? The Feynman Technique capitalizes on various effective learning principles:
Simplified Understanding: Teaching a complex topic in simple terms forces you to dissect it into its fundamental components. This clarifies your own understanding and ensures you grasp the concept at its core.
Identifying Gaps: When you struggle to explain a concept, it shines a light on areas of uncertainty or incomplete knowledge. This self-assessment guides your further study.
Active Engagement: Actively teaching and explaining a concept engages your brain far more effectively than passive reading or note-taking.
Repetition: Revisiting the concept multiple times during explanation and review phases reinforces your memory and understanding.
Effective Communication: Developing the ability to convey complex ideas in simple terms is a valuable skill that can enhance your academic and professional success.
How to Apply the Feynman Technique: Let's break down how to put the Feynman Technique into practice:
Select Your Topic: Choose a concept, theory, or subject that you find challenging or want to master.
Explain It to a Friend: Imagine you're teaching this topic to a friend with no prior knowledge of the subject. Use everyday language and real-world examples to make it accessible.
Identify Your Knowledge Gaps: As you explain, pay attention to areas where you struggle to simplify or clarify. These are your knowledge gaps.
Review Your Materials: Return to your study materials (textbooks, lecture notes, online resources) to fill in the gaps and deepen your understanding.
Repeat as Needed: Keep going until you can effortlessly teach the concept to your imaginary friend, using simple language and clear examples.
Test Yourself: To cement your understanding, test yourself by explaining the concept without looking at your notes or study materials.

Me: *scrolling tiktok, putting stuff in my basket for amazon, etsy and decathlon, looking for a job* really there's nothing else I could possibly be doing rn that's more important

I have finished my coursework. I have free time once more. What shall I do with all this free time? Who knows. Probably nothing.

^ Won a couple games of Jack Change It in study!!
Made some notes, did the coursework for my online work experince (which is on tomorrow... bleh) and that's about it. Didn't study today because my friend (who was away the last 2 days) called and we talked for 40 mins, I procrastinated, and went to see a house with my parents, then did the work experince coursework.
Not too bad of a day. Not busy but not lazy either. Somewhere in the very grey area. Still, I've got to get back into routine and keep my habits up too.
Also I've got some questions from the How Deep Will You Go card game and I'm going to show my friend some of those questions tomorrow morning!! (Some of those are DEEP)
Here's a teaser for you: (tw: mention of death)
Level 1: Icebreakers
Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?
Level 2: Confessions
What's your most treasured memory?
Level 3: Getting Deep
What is the worst non-physical pain you've ever felt?
