Genauer gesagt: An Covid-19 erkrankte Patientinnen und Patienten, die die bekannten Antidepressiva Fluoxetin oder Fluvoxamin nehmen, haben im Vergleich zu anderen ein um 28 bzw. 26 Prozent reduziertes Sterberisiko. „Wir können nicht sagen, ob die Medikamente diese Wirkung verursachen, aber der statistische Zusammenhang ist eindeutig“, sagt Marina Sirota von der University of California. „Die Zahlen sind mächtig“, sagt die Mitautorin einer Studie, die am Montag in der Fachzeitschrift „JAMA Network Open“ erschienen ist.
