I was recently visited by Jude and we spent an afternoon drawing together. It was the first time I had drawn traditionally for as long as I can remember, so I wasn't expecting quality. But, I had fun regardless. Also, all were drawn from memory, some of which turned out well, some of which not so well. The first Coxa abomination was me trying to draw with charcoal pastels. I didn't realize they smeared so easily.

The second was my using colored pencils. Her head is a bit too small, but Maud is always beautiful.

The Pinkie is probably the one I'm most happy with. Such a sweet mare.

The fourth one is supposed to be Sweetie Belle...and I completely got her mane wrong. She also has a bit of a football head, but I like how she turned out overall. This one was me moving on to charcoal pencils and also trying Jude's technique of starting at the snout. I usually start with the skull and eyes.

The last one is a bit special because the dark black lines were done by Jude, who challenged me to finish the basic framework. I just wish that smeared charcoal wasn't so noticeably on yellow. It makes her look dirty.

Overall, traditional art is tough, especially since I've grown so used to being able to fix my mistakes with digital art. I commend traditional artists for being able to just roll with mistakes and imperfections, or draw with so much care and attention to avoid them in the first place.

a suanzi é a atual imperatriz da china. eu gostaria que fosse uma guarda que está com ela desde que a suanzi assumiu no poder há quinze anos, pois assim, possui a total confiança dela, que é bastante desconfiada e difícil de lidar. não é obrigatório que a fc seja chinesa, uma vez que a sua história pode ter vários caminhos até chegar à china. as duas únicas obrigatoriedades são que 1. seja uma guarda mulher. a corte da suanzi é composta exclusivamente por mulheres e por mais que existam funcionários homens no palácio, ela recusaria um guarda homem; e 2. a guarda precisa ter 33 anos+, porque quando a suanzi foi coroada ela tinha 17 anos e agora tem 32, então a guarda deveria ter no mínimo 18 na época, ou não teria como assumir o posto de guarda da imperatriz (eu gosto da ideia delas terem idades aproximadas para criar um vínculo quando a suanzi ainda era jovem e no poder, mas realmente não é necessário!).

Question for fellow disabled peeps-

So I have chronic joint pain in my knees and hips and recently found out my hips are deformed which is probably what's causing alot of my pain. I also potentially have POTS as well so that's something too. For anyone who also struggles with this kind of stuff or just chronically ill in general what things do you use that are helpful? Just any kind of devices or apps or just things for comfort that adds to your quality of life to ease the pain or makes things easier. I'd love to hear any of it so please let me know!!
