I was a big nick/cartoon network kid & invader zim is just such a classic. I would watch the shit out of it, I’ve bought the whole series, the whole deal. When I was little I based my identity off of gir and when I was rewatching not too long ago I realized I still have so many lines memorized… it’s so silly and stupid and smart and gross I love it

If u asked me in like 2015-2017ish what my fav show is I probably would’ve said Merlin. And it stayed up there as a fav show for a WHILE. I’ve never been able to rewatch it bc of like. The Pain the finale caused me but I was obsessed with it when I did watch it. I had some huge multiship mindset going when I watched it and was shipping basically everyone together which I don’t think I’ve done for any other show… I watched tf out of the bts for it too. Like I was kinda in deep…

Is it cheating if I put a show and my two fav remakes LMAO… I’m a big skam girlie. We should all know this. I made this acc when druck was airing as a skam + remakes blog. I had a skam austin username for the longest time (rip gracefulnosplinters). The og is such a classic and gave me some of my fav pan rep (so did druck)! I was so so so obsessed and in my heart I still am. I’ll defend skam austin to the ends of the earth. I met some of the druck cast members (heyyy Lukas). I lived and breathed those clip drops in real time like they were AIR. I completed the Norwegian duolingo course and my streak is still going. But really which skam viewer has ever been not entirely invested in the series. I’ll stop now cuz I could talk Forever about it all…

Oh god. If you knew me when I first watched cql I’m genuinely so sorry… I would NOT shut up. It was every other word out of my mouth. I related every goddamn thing I saw to the show. It consumed me for MONTHS. As in I literally couldn’t watch anything else until a few months later after binging all sorts of bts, adaptations, and reading parts of the novel (funny thing is I still haven’t seen all adaptations/everything lmao). I always say it’s a good thing I couldn’t legally drive people when I was in this phase cuz I ONLY listened to/played the fucking character osts in the car for months like I knowww my mom was sick of it (she’s the only one who had to deal with me in the car lmfao). It was also the first time I ever actually made a sideblog for anything. I found the show at a very fitting time in my life too. Probably one of the hardest times ever but some of the themes in the series stuck with me in ways that felt so personal. A lot of love here

Another one I was super invested in at the time. Would not shut tf up about vegaspete. Very annoying about. Rewatched tf out of it. You know the drill. The few months I spent watching it was so eventful

HIStory2: crossing the line

Okay I think I’m really just in a HIStory mood lately but this fucking show. THESE TWO. YU HAO AND ZI XUAN. WHAT THE FUCK. The best way I can explain this is in a way no one else can understand: it appeals to a younger part of me in a very specific way. Like it’s scary. The chemistry is insane like going back to it after about a year still made me feel the exact same crazy way. One of the greatest losses caused by covid was the sequel that got cancelled 💔

Bad buddy

We all saw this coming. Gotta end with a bang. My favorite ql of all time. Insane to experience live and such a perfectly crafted show (thx p’aof). Layers upon layers of depth to write about (which like tbh every bad buddy fan basically has, me included). Just so much to love. Speaking of love: milklove origins too!!! We get it all from one silly little series. I remember exactly where I was so vividly when I experienced so many iconic scenes. It’s legendary!

i was talking to my colleague recently and i was like, “yeah, i’ve been learning chinese for a couple of months now” and was struck by a fucking lighting mid sentence, cause no, IN a couple of months it will be a YEAR since i started to learn chinese

so now i’m trying to digest this information and also that fact that i

you know

actually acquired some knowledge, and, even if it’s not much in total, but i do understand way more than i did a year ago (i kinda really want to rewatch cql with only chinese subs and see the difference now). and i gotta say, i’m proud of myself. when i just got the idea to start learning, i stopped myself, cause i had countless attempts to start learning a third language before, all of them would cease to exist in like a month after i would start, if not in a couple of weeks. the thing is - learning language is hard on your own, out of any academic environment, especially when you have trouble with managing your time and routine. so i waited for 4 month to make sure that the desire to learn chinese wouldn’t disappear, and then i was like, “ok, i still don’t trust you, but lets start with a couple of apps”. and i can trust myself now. it’s been almost a year! and i’m making progress!

but making progress means that i’m done with hellochinese course. oops. there are still some things i can do in that app, but, alas, i completed their course in its entirety.

which means that i need to move on to something else. you know. to an actual physical text book that’s been lying on my shelf for last half a year at least. and also to that fairytale book i bought for light reading (cause, you know, for a beginner it might not be the smartest idea to constantly try to read the excerpts from the danmei novel people post on this website. i mean, my limited knowledge can’t stop me from trying, but i still need something closer to my level aklsjd)

i also took the test on duolingo, and apparently unlocked 44% of their course. which means that if i wanted to give duolingo another go (we have  history, ok, we go way back and i don’t trust that bird), it still has a lot to offer me. the only problem is, they only have chinese course for english speakers, which isn’t that big of a problem, i guess, but a little bit overloading for my brain. so i’ll be looking for maybe some other apps too. or i’ll just finally pick that textbook up.

good morning i’m officially free from school for like three weeks

good happy things:

done my summer courses  :)

had a big typical chinese family dinner w the whole family today it was so good

mango pudding and almond cookies for dessert  :)))

there was this cashew-chicken-celery dish that was so good

got a new flannel  :) 

also a new pink cropped cardigan i get a +10 happiness every time i put something pink in my wardrobe

did a bunch of duolingo lessons today it always feels good when i do that

i love it when my friends are so easily hilarious it makes for good conversation

what if i listed every combination of friends that i think lwj should have because they make me very happy

first we have lan wangji and jin zixuan bc they’re anti-social rich kids and i love them

Yeah I feel the same, it's 2021 and March at the same time lol.

It's still interesting though! Maybe it will be handy at some point, you never know!

My German is horrible lol, it's been a while since I was taking classes!

My Chinese is slowly improving! Definitely can't watch things without English subtitles yet, but I catch words, phrases and sentences I understand some times! I can't really speak it yet, though! Grammatically it's very simple, my biggest issue is the tones and characters for sure. I'm using duolingo and I bought 2 notebooks so I can properly write things down, I've written stuff down already but it was on paper and it doesn't look very pretty lol. I also am rewartching (slowly) Handsome Siblings and writing all the dialogue down so I can learn how conversations work, and even though I've only got a few minutes down, I've already learned new words! It will take time for sure but I think it's worth it, there's only so much duolingo can teach.

I was basically entering my exam period when corona hit. It sucked, it was quite devastating. Because I did drama, there were several plays/pieces we had worked so incredibly hard on, that just had to be scrapped last minute. We wrote essays instead. Of course it was the right thing to do, but the sadness over not being able to complete our work, mixed with getting new assignments and our teachers instantly going on Easter break and not talking to us was.....stressful. It was definitely a rough time! I struggled so hard with my dissertation too! Fun fact, amidst all this was when I watched The Untamed!!! And it was a bit later when I decided to learn Chinese as a hobby!

I also really love Wen Ning and Wen Qing! I couldn't agree more!

My question this time is: what is/are your favourite ship/s, canon or not?

ah same I haven’t touched german in... two years?? my textbooks are rotting away and collecting dust... ;-; sigh all the money I spent on those... foreign language textbooks are crazy expensive ugh

oh that’s good! yep chinese grammar is fairly straightforward, at least it doesn’t involve lots of conjugation and exception *cough stares at french cough* and really strict sentence structure *cough stares at german cough* but it’s really all the different characters that make the language difficult... ;n; ohoh you’re actually rewatching the show and copying the dialogue as they go along??? omg that’s real dedication there, I’m guessing it would take quite some time >_< and I realise you’ve got to figure out the stroke order too (although this is usually quite straightforward) hmm... 再接再厉！ᕦ(ò_óˇ)

yeah that sounds really unfortunate ): writing essays are completely different from performing the actual play, it must have been really disappointing (´,_ゝ`) but at least that tough part is over! and wow you found the untamed during that period? 0: at least it was something to hold on and look forward to during that time! d(>_< ) and reallyyyy kudos to you for picking it up as a hobby and still going strong 200+ days later, because I have no stamina when it comes to self-learning languages and in october I was telling myself I would continue self-learning japanese come november, but it’s already december and I... still... haven’t... _(:3」∠)_

ahaha I’m a very unimaginative person, my favourite ships (in mdzs/ cql) are wangxian and songxiao ☜(ﾟヮﾟ☜) wangxian because angst! pain! pining! waiting for 13 (or 16) years! and songxiao because more angst! more pain! (Ｔ▽Ｔ) maybe because I don’t read fics much so I don’t go too much into the non-canon ships, but @/feiyunn draws really gorgeous art of xicheng that make me go oh damn all the time
