To slightly add to the angst train, I humbly request some gifs from cr2 (ep114, 2:07:13-2:08:02) juxtaposed with moments with cr3 with Laudna experiencing what Marisha/Beau is literally describing (she knew what she was doing, which yeah but hey)

Time to once again dive into the frigid waters of LA-people RPing a DnD party in the North - and climb back out without a worry in the world.

I’m mad at myself because when Matt described the scene of scrying on Molly, I have a memory of him leaving through a DOOR which opened up to the outside, and I immediately pictured a lonely cottage out in the middle of nowhere. Realizing now it was a WINDOW that he left through makes more sense, but I discarded the possibility too early to give it proper analysis. 

I don’t actually think Vess was dead before dinner. She talked at length with the Nein about the Cerberus Assembly, and their travels, and their exploits in Aeor, and she called the Assembly ‘family’ - which I thought was an odd choice of words, but Caleb rolled with it? Trent had previously made allusions to their little in-group being a family, so it treks. 

HOWEVER, Cree also called THEIR cult a family, so who knows. WHO KNOWS. Trust no one. I wouldn’t put it past Mollygon to have been on the ship. They never scryed on him during their travels. A pity, really. 

Can’t wait to see how this goes now that Caleb just put the body of an important Assembly member into a magical box. Surely she’s contacted several times throughout the day by others? Surely the mages back at Rexxentrum will notice that none of their emails are getting replies? They can convince a few random foot soldiers with illusions and magic and make their way out, but convincing a powerful set of wizards that they didn’t personally kill Vess... especially when it was the Nein that pushed her to change her departure schedule...

Caduceus was right - not all problems can be solved by throwing them into the river of lava. MOST problems... but not all.

There’s probably a deep meta post I could write about why the Nein took the actions that they did in regards to covering up Vess DeRogna’s murder when they literally did not have any part in it beyond being shit bodyguards, and how that plays into the fact that even after all the renown they’ve gained with the Dynasty and the Empire and the jobs they’ve done, and all that, they still feel at their core, as a group, like thirty seconds away from being arrested at any given moment, especially for a while early in the campaign, they were about thirty seconds away from being arrested at any given moment. I could write this post, but I’m tired and need to save brainpower for homework.

molly is a consecuted soul theory upgraded to molly is a somnovum (sleeping member of the city/aeor/ruidus) that switched places with the past nonagon lucien after the botched ritual to free the people of the city

the luxon beacons are broken off parts of the city that already stored the souls of people from there that began swapping with the souls of the dynasty as well

either ruidis is a god (chained oblivion) or is a pre calamity god killing weapon and I'm not sure it matters which

1. How did you first discover Critical Role?

Ooh it’s complicated! I remember a friend telling me about it in the summer of 2016 and I think I looked it up and was like “oh sounds cool but no way do I have time for that”. Fast forward to the start of C2 when I saw @toodrunktofindaurl‘s post that was like “if you’ve been meaning to get into CR but was intimidated by the backlog, they’re starting a completely new campaign so now’s a great time”. I watched the first episode the week it came out and maybe part of the second, but again was like “this is really cool but I don’t have time to keep up.” That’s when I started paying attention to posts on my dash and would occasionally see art or gifs but I wasn’t following the plot. Fast forward again, and finally, weirdly, like you, it was ep 26 and the deluge of posts that came that night and the following days that was the final push for me to give it a third try, and hey, third time’s the charm! (also it was summer so there was no school and I had time). I binged C2 to catch up and then went back and speed-binged everything else I could get my hands on, and I became the CR-obsessed gremlin I am today.

14. How do you cope with high tension in CR (stress-snacks, screaming into the chat void, skipping it, etc.)?

Lots of flailing and the Marisha Perch™, screaming into friends’ chats, if I’m not watching live then I pause the video to breathe (and if it’s at a certain level, I look at timestamps to get a sense of what’s to come)

24. Who’s your favorite CR2 NPC?

Hmm…Essek? I am a sucker for complicated mysterious wizards who are friend-shaped and I really really want a glorious slow burn redemption arc pls ;___;

Also his aesthetic is so on point. I am not immune to propaganda hotboi

35. What’s your favorite CR fight?

I’ve got to say the Avantika ep43 fight because we got all those iconic moments with the fresh 4th level spells and everything went well for once. It was my first live big battle and I was screeching the entire time.

For C1 I will also be predictable and say either Raishan or ep114 because how can I not.

tbh I am halfway there to believing he was disguised as Vess at the dinner, because her taking that bottle did register as a little blip in my mind, but I wasn’t paying that much attention during that whole exchange to say it felt sus for sure.
