The Command of the Special Operations in Ukraine says that the operation, which took some serious planning and timing, recieves the code name Crab Trap - as an allusion to the famous way of catching crabs - when you place a box on the bottom of the sea where crabs dwell and wait for them to gather inside. The strike on the Ru Black Sea Fleet HQ reportedly came during a time when a lot of officers, as well as some high ranking command ones, were gathered in the building.

no? TOO BAD! I recently learned about the existence of THESE motherfuckers and my first thought when I saw them was “HOLY SHIT THEY LOOK LIKE AUDREY 2!” They’re called Predatory Tunicates, here ya go

Also I forgot their name briefly and searched up “Transparent crinoid that looks like a venus fly trap” and discovered that the Venus fly trap anenome exists, so maybe that could also be Twoey, either or this isn’t a complete au. 

ANyways, so a little before that my brain made ANOTHER connection between Little SHop Of Horrors and marine biology was that dolphins will sometimes beat up pufferfish simply to get high off their venom, aND IF THAT ISN’T EXACTLY WHAT ORIN SCRIVELLO WOULD DO AS A MERMAN THEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS!!! (yes, I am aware that Cleaner wrasses also exist, but the difference is that they’re supposed to be good at dentistry and they can’t just go around inflicting pain for funsies because if they do, they’ll get eaten so a dolphin was just more fitting) Also, should Orin be a bottlenose or an Orca? because both of them enjoy tormenting other sea creatures beyond what’s necessary for survival and Orcas are a type of dolphin and the black and white color scheme would be fitting, but I also fon’t know if Orcas can get high off pufferfish venom

Update: research still inconclusive, I’m just gonna say that in this AU where mermaids are real and crinoids make Faustian power bargains, that yes, Orcas can get high off pufferfish venom

With that part out of the way, I guess Seymour should be a pufferfish, and I’m imagining that he just sits there and lets Orin bite him until he ODs on tetrodotoxin instead of nitrous oxide. Alternatively, I could imagine him being a shrimp, would be really funny if somehow a shrimp managed to kill an orca, plus there could be some symbolism or whatever with the size of any given merfolk showing their status, IDK I’m just spitballing.

Mr. Mushnik is gonna be a crab, Because he’s basically already Mr. Krabs, the connection was too obvious.

I actually don’t know what species Audrey would be in this AU, I was maybe thinking Angelfish?

AHHHHH thank you for enabling me to ramble more about them 😍 My kids tease me about my obsession with them. My mom bought them for my oldest when we went to the beach last year (impulse purchase, we discussed later) and when my oldest googled to see what they needed to thrive, they were a little overwhelmed... so they became my hermit crabs. 😅

Painted shells are toxic but most that come from bad conditions have them. We had to wait ~6 months or so before they molted the first time. Both changed shells when they came back up. Eggroll (was supposed to be April but my youngest misheard April as Eggroll, it was hilarious, and Eggroll stuck) is in the pink shell on top and the green shell in the middle. O'Neil is the yellow shell on the bottom and white shell above that.

I included a picture of their food (they don't eat much but they get a lot of variety, feeding them is fun) and someone in a crabhole/tunnel. They have smeared sand all over the inside tank walls, so the pics from outside the tank are a little blurry.

Your other post made me realize Krabs never got an FTE. How would that have gone?

I did technically touch on this at the bottom of a post I made little while ago that you can find here.

However now that you've brought it to my attention again, I don't mind going into a bit more detail about it.

I think each FTE in DR69 was around 400 words (give or take in that range) so it wouldn't be a very long conversation. Luigi would start by asking how Mr. Krabs got the idea about making a crew, which would lead him into introducing the Krusty Krab, Spongebob and Squidward. It would probably then segway into his rivalry with Plankton.

Luigi would then ask the obvious question of how he got so obsessed with money, where Mr. Krabs would briefly reminisce on the first time he found a penny and spent it on a balloon for Plankton. Such a thoughtless act makes Luigi wonder that perhaps Mr. Krabs isn't such a greedy crab after all, only for Mr. Krabs to then go onto say to this day he's continued to make as much money as he can, prioritising it over his workers, ethics, and even children.

Luigi is then unsure if he should take back what he just thought.
