Opportunity to collab for MAP!
Hello all! If you are a
Fanartist for the Batfam (especially Jason, Alfred, Bruce, Dick, or Tim)
Video editor
Graphic artist
Or have experience doing MAPs and similar projects
Please check out below the cut for details!
First off, for those who don't know me, I'm Sprite! I'm an American college/uni student who is always either singing, acting, or writing fanfic... usually for the Batfam, but I dabble in Marvel and LOTR too. If you know me, it's probably from reading Blood and Water, Adopt A Rescue!, or my personal favorite, Just A Kid.
Now as we all know, Whumptober is right around the corner, and given precedent, I'm expecting that at least one of these days will have a prompt along the lines of "Major Character Death", "Grief/Mourning", or similar, so I have a collaborative undertaking in mind that would work for all participants to fill that day...
I'm assembling audio of myself singing/playing an old American folk song "Red River Valley" which is a mourning song that really matches the vibes of the family (plus Tim) as they mourned Jason just after Death In The Family.
I would love to use this as the sound for a video edit, with lyrics and imagery to match the "scenes" of mourning and memories of the various characters.
To make sure I'm not infringing any copyright or accidentally stealing fanart by using google searches to get pictures, I'm extending an open invitation to the artists here in the Batfandom, if you're interested, to contribute fanart, which would be used and fully credited in the video, and we can all use the end result as a fill for the whumptober day.
If you're not on Discord but want to participate, I'll still try to work it out.
I have some ideas already for images that would match up with specific lyrics, but I welcome any and all ideas that you guys have! If you're interested, you can message me on tumblr and I'll give you a link to the discord server!
@quotidian-oblivion is working as co-organizer and @cygnusdoesthings is doing administrative things on the server, so for sure give a huge shoutout to them if you drop by!
Thanks everyone! I'm super excited to see where this goes!

Imposter Syndrome And Creative People
Imposter Syndrome is that inner voice telling you that your work is not good enough or, even worse, that you’re useless as a person.
• Self-criticism can really put (and keep) us down.
• Suffering from ‘imposter syndrome’ is common among most of us.
• Even with those people where you least expect it, they often suffer from some form of self-criticism.
• Creativity comes from relaxing self-evaluation and self-judgment – and the self-criticism and self-doubt that result from them.
• Feeling like an imposter can impact one’s ability to be creative or try things.

Arthur Kaufmann began his triptych "Arts and Science Finding Refuge in the USA" in 1939. After several decades' interruption, he finished it in 1964. Ironically, the painting now hangs in the Städtisches Museum Mülheim an der Ruhr, in Germany.
The group portrait shows 38 writers, artists, scientists, composers, and other creative people who found refuge from Hitler in the United States. The painting shows the writers Günther Anders, Ferdinand Bruckner, Bruno Frank, Oskar Maria Graf, Erika Mann, Heinrich Mann, Klaus Mann, Thomas Mann, Ludwig Renn, Ernst Toller, Berthold Viertel, and Arnold Zweig; the artists Benedikt Fred Dolbin, Josef Floch, George Grosz, Hans Jelinek, and Arthur Kaufmann; the composers Arnold Schönberg, Ernst Toch, and Kurt Weill; the musician Emanuel Feuermann and the conductor Otto Klemperer; the directors Fritz Lang, Erwin Piscator, and Max Reinhardt; the actor Luise Rainer; the philosopher Ernst Bloch; the psychologists Elisabeth Musset-Kaufmann, William Stern, and Max Wertheimer; the dancer Lotte Goslar; the architect and art historian Paul Zucker; the art dealer Curt Valentin; the physicist Albert Einstein; the theologian Paul Tillich; the physician Ulrich Friedemann; and the neurologist Kurt Goldstein.

Sometimes I get so in my head I forget I'm seventeen
I have the whole rest of my life to make beautiful things
But I'm still scared I'll never make enough

No baggage or drama seeks same...
how boring
and surely nonexistent.
.
My embellished resume boasts of
acting, standup, writing, painting
(full of glittered drama and duct taped baggage each)
but my favorite creative scene will always be
the "mellow" drama of poets.

Besides Tumblr, the only other social media that indeed feels like home for me is Vimeo, it's just magical how you can easily bump into a gem there, it's one of of the few places on the internet that has many genuinely talented people.
