Scene Prompt
"Your Majesty!" The servant was out of breath as he ran up to the Queen, a piece of paper in his hand. "You need to see this."
The Queen took the paper and unfolded it. It was a letter.
"Dearest Mother," the letter began. The Queen recognized the scrawled handwriting on the page. “If you are reading this letter, you have noticed that I am missing. I’m sorry to inform you that I have been kidnapped. The kidnappers have instructed me to write this and tell you that if you don’t pay the ransom of 50,000 gold coins, then they will dispose of me by the end of the week. I’m sure this all sounds very alarming, Mother, but I beg you not to panic. Though this situation is less than ideal, I remain in possession of my resourcefulness and good sense. I’m confident that I can get out of this situation without needing to empty the royal coffers. I only ask that you give me three days to get out of this predicament before sending in the cavalry. Try not to worry too much, I shall see you soon!

subtle ways to include foreshadowing
one character knowing something offhandedly that they shouldn't, isn't addressed until later
the crow rhyme
colours!! esp if like, blue is evil in your world and the mc's best friend is always noted to wear blue...betrayal?
write with the ending in mind
use patterns from tragic past events to warn of the future
keep the characters distracted! run it in the background until the grand reveal
WEATHER.
do some research into Chekhov's gun
mention something that the mc dismisses over and over
KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU PUT. don't leave things hanging.
unreliable characters giving information that turn out to be true
flowers and names with meanings
anything with meanings actually
metaphors. if one character describes another as "a real demon" and the other turns out to be the bad guy, you're kind of like...ohhh yeahhh

It never ceases to amaze me how brilliant fan fiction writers are, like, you take bits of something and can turn it into such brilliance and create crazy good plot lines with so much depth and layers and come up with all these ideas, like, literally blows my mind every time. The level of creativity is stunning

I am currently working on a murder mystery LGBTQ+ romance novel set in the 1920's. As of the time I am writing these words, I have only had this idea in my head for maybe three hours at most.

Putting their foreheads together and just being content with each other's presence
Those slow dances in the kitchen while they cook together
^^"I could do this forever." "What, cook?" "No, you silly! I meant dancing with you." and then they laugh and pull you into one of the most passionate kiss ever.
Friendly debates that quickly end with them laughing at how ridiculous it was
Long walks, hand in hand, your head leaning on their shoulder(AHHH-)
Them repeatedly telling you they'll never leave you when you start to doubt everything
Kissing you, and then putting their hands around your neck to stay like that for the next seconds, minutes as you two get lost in each other.
Those little teasing moments when they're all goofy and you just skfsjhfksklj melttttt
Lying their head on your lap while they read a book, and once in a while peek from it and you give them a kiss on their forehead every time, because they are just so adorable
Giving you a head message
Them poking your cheeks when you smile because they think your smile is the best thing in the world
Hugging you from behind, and then taking that opportunity to tickle you
Those little head pats as a way of saying that they are proud of you
Bread cheeks that you can't help but pull on them
Them giving you puppy eyes that you can't resist and give them a kiss
When they pout because you don't give them enough attention, and they just come to you and cling to you like a koala
Making hearts with their hands when they catch your eyes and grinning widely(hehehehe)

you're the thoughts that can't be tamed ⊹₊｡ꕤ
some ways to build tension
⇴ holding person b's hand longer than usual, just because person a craves the skinship. meanwhile, the person b is practically on fire and keeps glancing at person a.
⇴ "and if you're not ready for this right now, then i can wait–" and the other person cuts them off with a kiss.
⇴ cutting people off with kisses in general. something so endearing about not being able to contain your love for someone that you have to express it asap.
⇴ that silence before a long, deep conversation between person a and person b. they're both looking around at anything but each other, when both parties want nothing more than to desperately reach out. (like they're spiraling not being able to talk to each other)
⇴ "so..." "so."
⇴ that feeling when person a knows there's someone behind them, but is too nervous to check in case it's person b. meanwhile, person b is highly anticipating person a to look back.
⇴ always (and i mean ALWAYS) managing to find each other even through the busiest of crowds. and having that moment where you two make eye contact across the room.
⇴ rubbing/scratching a body part (ex. back) and person a's hand lingers a little too low on accident. but they're freaking out and don't know what to do, so they just keep their hand where it is.
⇴ "if you wanna say something, now's your chance."
⇴ slowly watching person a walk away, even though person b wants them to stay. so, person b runs and tries to catch up with person a before they leave.
⇴ one bed trope except they can't even build the classic wall of pillows. the bed is tiny, so person a and b have to lay so close together that a can feel b's heartbeat pounding.
⇴ ^^ "are you cold?" person b asks even though they can feel their body heat radiating over person a.

Touch Starved Prompts
It was strange to touch each other without one of them dying, but maybe touch was also something for the living.
Like magnets they moved together, pressing into each other's warmth.
There always needed to be a reason, an excuse for their bodies to touch.
Being touch-starved and needy was really starting to mess with their reputation as a tough guy.
It was like their skin was calling out for the other's gentle touch.
They didn't like to be touched by just anyone. But that didn't mean they didn't also crave it sometimes.
A coldness took over their body that only the warmth of another person could erase.
They wanted to be touched, to be missed, to be loved. Was that too much to ask for?
Leaning onto each other, just being close, was enough.
Their bodies fitting together like they always were intended to become one.

Doing some character design exploration/expression sheets for Celestia and Luna. Figuring out Celestia's weird ass anatomy while I'm at it.
