Hi. I'm writing about a character who has a crush on another character, unbeknowest to them, their crush has a crush on them. But i'm trying to figure why does this person have a crush on the other person. Please help?
Hi :)
So, both have a crush on each other? And you want to figure out why they would have a crush on that other person?
To be honest: you can have a crush on someone for basically any reason. The sun just needs to hit them right, the radio plays the right song and boom - crush on the person who you made eye contact with in the cereal aisle.
Reasons for having a crush on someone:
they are a genuinely nice person
they are good-looking
they have an interesting weirdness about them
they let you go in front of them in the check-out line
they are a skilled handyman
they wait for you when you are slower than the rest of the group
they have a really cool style
they held a door open for you
they explained a joke to you that you didn't get
they scrunch up their nose when they think about something and it's really cute
they are the only other person your age around
they help you cheat in an exam
they like the same music
they stood up to a teacher or authority figure
they don't care about what anyone says
they send you funny memes
they look hot in the gym
they are really good with children
they are really good with animals
they smiled at you once
they are very attentive
they always make you the perfect cup of coffee
they ran across a field and looked like they are in a commercial
they wore your favourite colour today
they seem like a really cool person
they read a book to you
they love about your jokes
they care about the same injustices
they totally match your energy
they held eye contact with you across a room once
they are clumsy and simply adorable
they have the best comebacks
they played a song on their guitar
they always make sure to include you in stuff
And the list goes on and on...
Hope you have a crush on someone today :)

heyy i saw that in your AU ideas list you have Rockstar AU but no prompts for that, so i was wondering if you could come up with some? especially for a rockstar dating an ‘ordinary’ person, not involved in their world. thank you!
Hi :)
You're right, there are no actual Rockstar AU prompts yet.
I found an ask I answered two years ago about a Rockstar dating someone working 9-5, so definitely check my answer for that out!
Rockstar AUs
Dating a rockstar had its perks, but also some downsides. Not being able to go on tour with them, meant missing them for months on end.
They never thought their shift in the hospital would turn out like this. With an international rockstar with a broken arm in front of them because they tried to stage dive and failed.
Social media has a field day when pictures turn up that show the famous rockstar with an unknown person, definitely being on a date.
Their co-workers don't know that they are dating this rockstar everyone knows. That changes when their rockstar partner comes to work to take them out for dinner.
Going to all their concerts is not possible when working a 9-5 job, but they always try to wait for their partner to come home to say good night.
They've started dating when it was still a garage band, playing at proms and bar mitzvahs. They're still dating but one of them becoming a famous rockstar has turned their life upside down.
Being on tour is not the easiest when their partner can't come with them. Concerts every other day, city after city, different countries, different time zones. It takes a lot of work to keep a healthy relationship going across the globe.
The band's partners all have nothing to do with the entertainment business, so they created their own little support group to handle their rockstars together.
More: Band Prompts
I hope you enjoy these and I will link them to the AU list, if I don't forget again :D

Hello! Do you have prompts for misunderstandings between a couple, but then resolving?
Hi :)
Sure, here are some prompts for you:
Misunderstandings Prompts
Character A knows that their partner, Character B, has a big project coming up and therefore working overtime. And because they know that, they can't believe their eyes when they see their partner in the mall they are at with their friends. - Gets resolved by their friends confronting Character B and finding out that they were looking for a ring.
They are finally on a date and Character A tries too act cool, and it's too convincing and now Character B doesn't think they are really into them. Character A needs to show that they are not really cool, but actually super excited.
Character A wants to throw an amazing surprise party for their partner, Character B. They try to work everything out behind their partner's back and ask a party planner, Character C, for their help. Acquaintances see A and C together and tell B that their partner is likely having an affair.
Character A is pining after their best friend and is starting to feel guilty for how much they enjoy their friend's easy touches and affections knowing that they themself want more than friendship. Unbeknownst to them, Character B actually thinks they've been in a relationship for a long time and Character A is just not ready yet for deeper intimacy.
Hope you like them!

i was reading through your masterlist of prompts and i realised something i dont see often: enemies to friends with benefits. do you have any prompts for this?
The question is: are they becoming actual friends or is it more like enemies with benefits?
Enemies to Friends with Benefits
Text Prompts
One minute ago they were fighting for real, next minute they were wrestling on a nice and comfy bed.
They called it friends with benefits or fuck buddies, but they were definitely still neither friends nor buddies.
Once was an accident, but that accident just kept on happening.
They would have to end it eventually, but in the meantime they could have a little fun.
Meeting your enemy for a little tryst should feel wrong, but it surprised them how exciting and just right it felt.
They knew what would happen if people found out about this, but it was too tempting not to try it once and too good to stop afterwards.
Dialogue Prompts
"This does not mean I like you. I just like to have fun."
"Don't even think about falling asleep. I'm kicking you out as soon as we're done here."
"I need someone to scratch an itch, and I hate to admit it, but you're good at scratching."
"If you tell anyone about this, I will kill you."
"Just some stress relief."
"I will never ever admit to this."
"You're good at this... not a compliment, just a fact."
"I may not like you, but physically speaking, I do see the appeal."
Have fun!

Hey! Really love all your prompts.
I was writing a fanfic with an apocalypse au, with an enemies to lovers subplot and needed help with one-liners for it.
<3
Hi, so happy to hear that :)
Here are some prompts for you:
Enemies to lovers - Apocalypse AU
"So what happened to 'not even if I were the last person on earth'?"
"The world really had to end for us to put our differences aside."
"Pre-apocalypse me would've never believed that we could ever be more than enemies."
"It's crazy how we went from hating each other to loving each other."
"This all is less terrifying with you by my side."
"Love truly is stronger than hate."
"I can't believe I'm actually considering being with you."
"We have so much more important things to think about than petty drama."
"This will probably be the end of the world and I'm happy that we are no longer enemies."
"Just a few weeks ago I hated your guts."
"Everyone was a different person before this all happened."
"The world is ending and I would much rather spend it in good company than in hate."
"Why didn't we get along again?"
"No one I would rather spend the end of the world with."
Hope you like them!

Any advice on how to fit in descriptions? Like whenever I’m writing and I need to describe a new character or something it just feels like slamming the breaks in the pace, like everything is going so smoothly then we just stop and describe this new person then try to get back to how we were. It really hurts the pacing and immersion but I know descriptions have to be done.
You explain it well: if you describe the character the moment they enter the room, it slows down the story.
So, that's why you should make it more subtle. New character enters the room and the protagonist notices it. Describe only the first thing that the protagonist would notice about them.
She turned around to see a tall man with a trench coat enter the room.
And then you continue the story by writing about what happens next. From now on you can just drop new facts about that character into the dialogue or into other text.
"Having a good time?" The man had a very high voice for someone this tall and bulky and she was taken aback by it for a moment.
Just remember that you don't need to describe the person in detail and you especially don't need to do it right away. Just space it out and fit it into other parts of the story. You also don't need to describe every character's appearance. Just a hint here or there so the reader has something they know about them, but most of the details are irrelevent to the story and should not be included if there is the chance of the reader losing track of it all.

Hi Jana!
I was thinking: do you have any prompts about objects being haunted but, like, in a 'usefull' way? As in, the ghost haunting the object helps the bearer. It's for a story I'm writing, based around this central idea.
Hope it's not too specific or out of your comfort zone, if so you can even leave this ask be.
Hope life is kind with you, bye!
Hi :)
Life's good, I hope it's the same for you.
Haunted Objects
a jukebox that always plays the right song for the situation
a piece of string that curls around the owner's wrist to remind them of something
glasses that make the wearer see ghosts/in the dark
a pen that writes down the owner's thoughts
a water fountain that never stops flowing
a TV that only shows happy things
a clock that can turn back time
an amulett that vibrates when danger is near
a car that self-drives
shoes that help the wearer fly
a phone that texts back, so the owner don't have to
a fridge that's never empty
a typewriter that types on their own
I hope you can do something with this! :)

Do you have any prompts on why a person would turn into/become a villain/supervillain? Great blog BTW I love seeing all the prompts - it really helps me get the ideas flowing!
Happy to hear that :)
Reasons for becoming a villain
they themself or someone they love was being hurt by the hero's heroic acts, which the hero is celebrated for
feeling unfairly treated by the hero or the society
having a topic they feel passionate about and at first fighting for it within the legal system, but becoming more and more disillusioned and mad about not being able to change anything this way
wanting to make their mark on the world, but going the evil and not the good route
formerly being a hero, they feel like they had to sacrifice so much, but then just got tossed away by society
feeling like they are superior to others and therefore taking their place above them and not having to care about their lives
having the dream of being: a world leader in something (politics, science, economics, etc.), ruler over a specific part of the world, recognized as the greatest [insert what they want], the richest person alive, the most influential person in the world, ...
I hope these give you some ideas!

do you have any tips for making a character more interesting and for making a morally grey character?
How to write a morally grey character
@creativepromptsforwriting on IG | do not repost!
There are good guys and there are bad guys. But the world is not just black and white and neither are everyone's morals.
What makes someone morally grey?
You could also call it morally ambiguous. They are real people with their own ideas and motivations and the possibility to change their ways when there is enough incentive. They are neither pure good, nor pure evil.
Which just makes them human and to an extend that includes everyone. So in fiction, this is often a character that is unpredictable, the reader can't be sure on what side they are on. It could change.
How to create them
decide on a balance between good traits and bad traits
give them understandable motives
give them motivations that would make them work for the good cause and motivations that would make them work for the bad ones
give them a moral compass and a set of rules that they would usually follow
but also give them personal goals that interfer with that
show them having to make decisions that can lead to real consequences
Tips
don't make them overly mysterious, the reader should understand where they are coming from with their decisions
but you can create surprise by giving two good and believable options to choose and make the readers be on the edge of their seat to find out which one they choose
decide between the character making active choices or the character passively letting things happen that puts them in both the good and the bad box
Examples:
A character who sees the good that the hero is doing and wants to support them in saving the city, but doing that would interfer with their personal goal (saving their family for example) - the reader can't be sure which way they will choose
A character is generally doing good things, but when something bad happens, they tolerate it and don't stop it, passively being on the side of evil.

Hello ! 😊
First of all, I read your Blog etiquette , and I hope I use it correctly. If not, please excuse me, I'm just kinda dense sometimes 😅
I wanted to ask you an advice on writing , if it's okay ...👉🏻👈🏻
I want to write and post Fics on my Tumblr but English is not my first language and I'm HELLA self conscious about my grammar and stuff ...
Do you have any advice for non-native speaker to get started and post stories in English please ?
( BTW, Keep writing : you're awesome 😘)
Hi and thank you for the compliment!
And yes, you've done everything right, thank you for reading it :)
As a non-native English speaker myself, I'll try to help you out with this issue. I have to be honest, I'm not sure when I started writing in English, but I believe it came quite natural to me, because our English classes are mostly like our German ones, so we would have to write whole stories and essays and stuff in English, so it was something I was already doing. And probably not doing it correctly all the time. And that is something that you will have to be ok with.
That there will be mistakes and there will be phrases that sound a little too stiff, sentences that are structured like your native language and words that don't have the same impact in English.
My suggestion would be to just start. Write little things. Don't be afraid to go back in and change a sentence when you later see that it's not exactly what you wanted to say. It's a learning curve and you will become more confident and you definitely will become better at it. For me personally, it was really helpful to read in English, to see how stories look like, how they explain what you want to explain, to find new words to incorporate.
And another advice would be: don't apologize beforehand that there will be a ton of mistakes, because it's not your first language. You can just put "not my first language" if you want people to know about it and if you maybe want feedback on grammar or something. But don't apologize. Even if the reader doesn't want to, it automatically makes them hyper-aware of mistakes. And you want them to enjoy your story, not focus on that.
Also remember: It's awesome that you are able to write in a different language. That is an accomplishment. And also, people make mistakes in their own language all the time. If you keep practicing then your mistakes won't be a distraction for the reader reading and enjoying your story. Even if there still are a few here or there.
I wish you all the best, my friend!

More Break-up Dialogue Prompts
"I never meant to hurt you, but it seems like I still did."
"Don't say it's over. Please, give us another chance!"
"So, you're just leaving me without any explaination?"
"This isn't our fault. Fate didn't want us to be together."
"I didn't deserve this. I did nothing to deserve this."
"Have you ever really loved me?"
"This is not what I wanted."
"You can't change my mind about this. We're done."
"Don't try to pin this on me. It was a joint effort."
"Stop. Just stop. I won't be staying with you any longer."
"We can't salvage this anymore."
"It's over! Just accept that!"
"Please, tell me what I did wrong."
"I can't keep living like this any longer. Like everything is ok."
"We tried. We really did. It just wasn't meant to be."
"It's best to end it now, not dragging it out any longer."

Hey, Jana! Sorry this is on the more specific side, but I would like some prompts of an overprotective mother being emotionally and physically abusive towards her daughter and the daughter’s journey toward leaving and seeking comfort in friends/lovers. Just send me a message if you need me to clarify anything, just in case something wasn’t clear. This idea sounded much better in my head, but perhaps not so much actually written out…
Hi my friend :)
Here are your prompts that we talked about:
Comforting friend over mother's abuse
"I can clearly see that you're not ok. So please just tell me what it is."
"She said that to you? Please don't listen to that. She wanted to hurt you with those words."
"I know you love her, she is your mother. And she probably also loves you, but that's not a healthy relationship."
"But she just wants to protect me." "And now you need to be protected from her. Good intentions don't always make for good actions."
"I'm so sorry that this is so hard for you. But I'm happy to know that you feel safe enough with me to tell me about it."
"You can cry that's ok. Doesn't make you weak."
"Maybe both of you need some space. Focus on yourself, not each other. Maybe that way you can eventually come back together and have a normal relationship with each other."
"I can see how hard this is for you. Please just know that I'm always here for you."
"I feel so stupid talking about this." "No need to feel stupid. It's good to let things out."
I hope you like them and I wish you all the best with your story!

Prompts for multiple soul mates ?
As always, please ask in a whole sentence for what you want.
Multiple Soulmates Prompts
The Netflix show Sense8 is basically like this: 8 people from around the world that are telepathically connected, sharing each other's emotions, languages and skills and are even able to take over the other's body - and they are definitely soulmates in their own way.
Other prompts:
Everyone had their soulmate's name on their body when they rach a certain age - with exceptions. But it was a taboo to talk about the ones without a name and it was downright sacrilegious to talk about the few with more than one name.
They are able to see their soulmates' dreams, but it's getting complicated when they are not sure which soulmate's dream this was.
Hearing your soulmate's voice in your head can be calming and even helpful. Multiple soulmates having discussions or inappropiate banter in your head is not helpful at all.
You were supposed to feel whole when you've met your soulmate. But both realize quickly that there is still someone missing.
Having a bunch of soulmates was normal. There were platonic soulmates and romantic soulmates.
They found each other very early in life, but they always knew that there was one more soulmate of theirs out there. But it takes a while to find them.
It was a shock to find out that they were not their soulmate's soulmate. And even more shocking to find out that they were their soulmate's soulmate's soulmate... One complicated triangle-shaped mess with one easy solution.
Their soul mark was an intricate design and they're crushed when they find someone they have a connection with, but their marks are only almost right. Then a third person shows up whose soul mark's design seems to be the missing piece that connects them all.
Have fun with them!

Self-Care Dialogue
"I'm gonna stay in bed and I will not do anything today."
"Just laying down and cuddling with you is the best self-care for me."
"Please, be kinder to yourself."
"You deserve a day off. Please, just take it."
"Cake is definitely a form of self-care."
"You need to do this for yourself. You will feel better afterwards."
"Don't sacrifice yourself for others."
"Self-care doesn't mean you're selfish."
"We all need to take some time for ourselves."
"I know I say I'll treat myself to something nice a lot, but I deserve it a lot."
"Cutting toxic people out off your life can be a good start to heal."
"Sometimes we just need to make ourselves happy."
"Not saying anything to this is also a form of self-care."
"You're a wonderful person and I feel so good with you. Please start treating yourself the same way you treat me."
"Let's do a spa day, we earned that."
