Mourning Period

Probably my favorite pieces I've ever done. This was inspired by my mother saying that "parents need to go through a mourning period when their child comes out as trans." I know she didn't intend it to sound as bad as it did, but it has always stuck with me. This piece basically describes transitioning and coming out, and the different perspectives of this process. When someone comes out as trans, sometimes it's like the people who don't accept them mourn for them. From their side, this transition is an ugly tragedy; They see it as the person they know being dead. But in actuality, as a trans person you are letting go of who you used (maybe even letting the old self "die") to be so you can grow from your old bones into something beautiful and healthy and new.

a commission for @hazardlevei’s dnd campaign, a domesticated lizard-like species that is used as a mount. they come in many colours, and have very minute sexual dimorphism.

there are several different breeds, but share the common features of thick wiry hair, reticulated scales, strong muscles, and wonderful facial hair!

warrior mount breeds have tougher scales, thicker hair, larger teeth, and heavy tails. binocular vision is more focused in this breed, and they are often more aggressively natured.

working mount breeds have strong muscular arms and legs, robust claws, and a less flexible but sturdier skeleton. they have a shorter but thicker tail, allowing them more stamina.

race mount breeds are leaner, a more upright gait and deeper chest, with shorter stiffer digits. shorter hair and more scales, with a tail that is lighter, shorter, and stiffer.

travel mount breeds are generally the most average of the breeds, being suited for long distance travel over long periods of time. large lungs and strong heart to support heavy exercise, and a long thick tail to support the massive fat reserves used during long journeys.

Meet Lilie. The last thing she remembers is falling into a river, only to wake in a strange labratory in Geneva with a giant claiming to be her new father, and a gaunt gentleman trying to keep the giant happy while also keeping the giant from disappearing with Lilie off into the mountains...

Lilie just wants to go home, but that might not possible anymore, after all, she's not the girl she was before...

(Basically an Au where The Creature fails to save the girl in the river, brings home the body and asks Victor to make him a daughter instead of a bride. The Creature is selfish, Victor experiences parental guilt all over again and Lilie is having an existential crisis--Thanks to everyone on the LXGF Discord who helped make this AU and especially @see-arcane for giving this monsterous creation its name "The Wretched Family")
