Favourite Crew Chief: Mach Matsuo

I could finally post this one day late 😅

Later I'll also make the one for today

Anyway, as his bio says, Matsuo used to be one of the greatest Japanese champions and he used to race in Europe too, but then he decided to start a new carrier as coach and so Shu became his pupil

I like this bc it sounds like Doc and Lightning's dynamic, but here the pupil is actually disciplined. Pretty fitting for a Japanese team 😆

Being Night Crew Chief

[May 3, 2022]

The past couple nights John and I have been busting our asses to get the store done and ready for inventory.

We’ve had many talks about the rest of the crew and especially Trevor who’s full time.

I really don’t think he’s ready at all.

John and I do 85% of the whole store.

I do as much work as John at this point, which it should be a full timer doing that not me, a part timer.

I don’t mind it at all, though.

It does feel nice.

A couple nights ago John and I had talked and he said he’d put in a word and recommend me for crew chief when his time comes to leave the store.

That shocked me, as this is my first job and I’ll possibly be a candidate to be chosen for crew chief?

Straight from part time to crew chief?

I know I’d succeed and can do it and John thinks I can do it as well.

That honestly means the world to me seeing how Trevor keeps saying I couldn’t handle the stress of it all.

I handle more stress than him being autistic and trying to read social cues and doing all the work I now do that a full timer should be doing. 

The only thing I don’t hold is keys, but I could do that without any stress at all, maybe a short break down but I would pull myself together as I’ve done so many other times due to sensory overloads and get it done.

I never understood when people said “it’s mind over matter” I still kind of don’t but it’s just about somehow shutting off the emotional part?

I don’t know if this could be something related to autism and the fact some aren’t I forget the word empathetic? Probably not right but hopefully you all know what I mean.

It’s all just me shutting off the emotional part of my brain as well as the entire part that makes me think of others but if it’s just my job to do something and I have nobody else with me then it doesn’t matter if that part is shut off.

I often had let myself overstress about EVERYTHING but that lead to panic attacks and it’s why I refuse to think about the future as it terrifies me.

Sadly Trevor will probably quit if I get crew chief, which will show that he never wanted me in a higher position ever.

I can hear it, he gaslights me and uses what I used to say about myself against me, but I’m not that person anymore.

I’m now more confident.

I’m stronger now.

People saying “you will never be able to handle [list anything that before I wouldn’t have been able to handle]” doesn’t affect me anymore.

I won’t show Trevor how confident I am, management knows exactly how confident I am and that’s all I need.

It would be weird at first honestly being crew chief, having a whole crew under me and looking to me for direction.

I had people under me when I worked faire but that was a bit different.

This is much bigger.

Now, if I did get a call from central it wouldn’t scare me.

Trevor still believes it would, I’ll keep him believing that.

I have changed so much that he believes I’m still the same as I was a year ago but I’m absolutely not the same.

I’m now a stranger to him and he doesn’t realize it.

I will keep working hard, and won’t stop until I’m crew chief at this store.

Cat Ace

Ace gets hit by another Devil fruit user and ends up turning into a kitten/small cat, but be still has access to his devil fruit, and his hat somehow becomes tiny as well and stays on his head unless he bats it off or someone else pulls it off.

Cat Ace is always climbing up onto different crew mates shoulders, mostly Marco or Thatch, he likes to feel tall but he also likes sitting on Whitebeard lap or shoulder, meowing(chatting) away to the old captain.

They learn quickly that Ace is a lot more affectionate as a cat, purring and butting his head against his brothers legs to get pets and scratches. He will curl up in any open lap and will not move unless he forcibly moved.

Ace is also so much more chaotic as a cat, and will run across the deck of the Moby Dick while on fire and getting in between everyone's legs, making some people trip, until Whitebeard tells to come join him, patting his lap, which Ace does cause as get cooed at by the nurses and good head scratches.

Thatch loves cat-Ace but he also kinds of wants to murder of him at some times, with how many times Ace has snuck into the kitchen and stole some fish or meat, from right under his nose and then had to chase to the cowboy hat wearing black cat, threatening to put Ace on a vegetarian diet if be didn't stop.

There are a few times when the crew has had to step in and recuse Ace from being stepped on or falling over board from being too close to the ship railing, when his narcolepsy happens.

Ace likes to try and hunt Marco, stalking up behind him and crouching low as his bum starts to wiggle before pouncing on the Phoenix user. Everyone watches as Ace just hangs off Marco as he goes around doing his daily business.

The crew puts it down to the fact that Marco is bird and cats instincts take hold of Ace for a while, cause after he pounced on Marco, he content kitty and ends on blonde shoulder.

The effect of the devil fruit lasts for 3 weeks and in that time they have taken so many photos of Cat Ace, so they can embarrass him in the future, like the good older siblings that they are.

They may or may not of sent a few photos to a certain Captain and Chief of Staff.

Ace will never live this down and the thought of throwing himself overboard to avoid the embarrassment and teasing has crossed his mind, especially when he was gifted black cat ears.

Leverage/Psych crossover ideas

Shawn and Elliot are cousins. They havent met because Henry is estranged from his sibling who is Elliot’s parent. Team Leverage does a job in Santabarabra while Shawn and co are in the middle of in unrelated murder investigation. They come within mere seconds of crossing paths several times until finally Parker runs into Lassiter. They both see someone do something dumb and mutter the same thing under their breaths. They hear each other and catch eyes. They have a short talk where they bond over being autistic coded. Then they go their separate ways, fully expecting to never see the other again. Yeah, they thought the other person seemed cool but neither of them are really in the market for more friends

The Leverage team finishes their con successfully and leaves town. Somehow the bad guys manage to learn Elliot’s name. Wait, Spencer? Like the psychic? They look into it and yeah turns out they’re related. They kidnap Shawn to get to Elliot and then call Sophie or rather Sophie’s alias and say hey guess what? We’ve got your cousin and unless you undo the damage you did and give us a bunch of money we’ll kill him.

Elliot is confused at first before he remembers yes, he does have a cousin who is from Santabarbara. Didn’t know he was psychic though. (Not that he’s sure he believes that) So they turn around and head back to Santabarbara.

Naturally since Shawn was kidnapped Lassie and Jules are on the case. (And Gus)

At first their are no leads. They have no idea why Shawn was kidnapped. Then, they find security footage and manage to link it back to the same company whose ceo Lassiter arrested for fraud the day before. They aren’t sure what the connection is, but it’s there.

Then team Leverage gets back to town. They team up with the Santabarbara crew and rescue Shawn. (Possibly Elliot intentionally gets himself captured because it’s the quickest way to find Shawn and then takes the bad guys out while Shawn is standing is standing in the background like “wow my cousin is badass!”)

Sidenote: Shawn gets his kidnappers to spill the beans on what’s going on and they tell him about how his cousin framed a guy for fraud. Shawn recognizes that for the half truth it is.

During the time looking for Shawn Parker befriends both Jules and Lassiter. (She goes with her fbi cover, which Hardison has officially made almost full proof in its authenticity.) or not. Idk.

Gus and Alec would obviously love going undercover together. Alec finally has someone who will go along with his dramatics easily, like it’s any other day. Gus meanwhile is used to working with Shawn and is having a blast, cause its very similar. Obviously it’s different then Shawn and Gus, I mean Alec and Gus just met, but its an equal tug and pull of power. They are both just grounded enough that neither one of them is the crazy one, but neither are either of them the completely normal levelheaded one either.

Maybe at the end, Henry reaches out to his estranged sibling or something. As for Sophie and Nate? Well Sophie can’t get involved because she was already the public face of the con. And Nate is intimidated by chief Vick, but he doesn’t tell anyone that. By the end only Shawn and Gus know that the crew are thieves. Lassiter and Jules know something is fishy about them, but hey, it’s probably just fbi stuff. (Plus Jules reached out to her brother and Ewan said Elliot is a good guy.)

nascar!eddie angst where Eddie and Crew Chief get into a very big fight a few days before the race and Eddie goes M.I.A. Race day comes and he is silent and does not give CC any flowers. CC talks cordially but he doesn't say anything in return. No banter or anything. Maybe he shouldn't race, she thinks.

Before she can tell him not to he's already in the car and ready to go. The race track was treacherous and any mistakes here would not go unnoticed. Eddie was doing well until another are rides his bumper and clips his backside in his blind side. He spins wide and smacks the the wall and does several flips.

Everyone jumps into action as his car turns into a fiery inferno. Eddie is pulled out into safety and is taken to the hospital. A few days later, CC goes to visit him. His uncle sits in the visitor chair while he lays in the hospital bed with a cast on his leg and one on his arm. Cuts all over his face and bandages everywhere else from the burns.

He is asleep but Wayne notices you and smiles, "When he first woke up, he was looking for ya." He gets up, "Come sit, be the first thing he sees today." He then leaves the room and lets you have time alone with Eddie.

She brought flowers and set them on the side table before sitting down in the chair. Seeing him okay eases the intensity in her heart. She hated the idea of that argument being the last genuine conversation she had with him. She grabs his non-broken hand and gives it a squeeze.

Eddie's eyes squeeze at the sensation before slowly opening them and seeing her there. He smiles, "CC you're here."

"I'm here, I'm glad you're okay. How do you feel?"

"It's not a big deal." He chuckles

"Eddie don't joke you got into a terrible accident."

"Sorry, sorry. I forget that you are such a worrywart." He smiles and looks to see the flowers she brought, "Well look at that, my good luck charm is back. You're not mad at me anymore?"

"I was never mad. Frustrated yes, but never mad." She sniffles, "God the entire time I was waiting, I was regretting that stupid fight. I never want us to stay mad like that ever. I want you to talk to me, bring me flowers, flirt with me on the radio, dammit, I pretend to hate those things but I can't live a day without them."

Eddie just stares at her as she speaks before a smile creeps on his face, "You love me, don't you?"

"Don't say it like that dummy. I love you. And I never want you to think of trying that risky move again you hear me."

"Yes ma'am." He sits up, "And I love you too."

"I know. You never shut up about it." She then leans over the bed and kisses him gently.
