You could feel your hands shaking with absolute terror. Nothing was worse than stepping in front of an audience that expected you to perform perfectly, with the fear that you would blunder your way through it and possibly ruin your career. Forever. Everything you had worked for would go out the window in the span of minutes. Your debut couldn’t flop. It simply couldn’t, not after you had spent years pouring your heart and soul into training. You could feel yourself panic at the mere thought, but your fingers stopped trembling when San wrapped his own around yours, giving your hand a comforting squeeze as he looked at you with stars in his eyes.

“They’re gonna love you.” He said soothingly, reaching up to brush a piece of hair out of your eyes and poking your cheek affectionately. “You’re perfect.”

“What if they don’t?” You practically whispered, fear laced through your voice. He sensed your horror, gaze softening as he leaned in closer, pressing his lips to your cheek in a chaste kiss before pulling away with a smile.

“Don’t worry. I’m always by your side.” His words brought you comfort, and you took a deep breath, attempting to slow your pounding heartbeat that seemed to be shaking the organ in your ribs, before you mustered up all your courage.

You stepped out onto the stage.
