I’ve always imagined F having plenty of colourful accessories, rings included. Chunky, dainty, metallic, plastic, colourful - you name it. The little jewellery box in their room a is glorious mess.

When F starts dating the detective, spending an extended amount of time together, F’s accessory wardrobe spills into the detective’s room too. The detective often finding the odd dropped trinket here or there, perhaps left in the haste of some other more pressing activity.

F doesn’t think too much of it, at least not initially… until one day they spot the detective sporting one of their rings. One of the simpler ones to be exact, glinting conspicuously on their pinky finger. Excitement shudders down F’s spine at the gesture, as well as the detective’s quickly reddening face.

In the days and months that follow, more and more of F’s rings make it onto the detective’s fingers. F catches a flash of neon pink resin as the detective fills in paperwork, or a glint of bright polished gold as they beat off another Trapper. F runs their thumb over a smooth gemstone as they hold the detective’s hand, their fingers tangled together in a perfect jumble of colours and textures.

You see, that glow of joy F felt never quite fades over time. Sure it’s not exactly a grand gesture or proposal, but something about seeing these little pieces makes F feel anchored.

It’s a wordless I love you, I carry you with me every day, even the messy bits. Even the bits you leave behind.

It feels like being chosen.

Imagine just,,

Dazai is in the office with the ADA and is just shaking very mildly, his whole body is tense though and he feels so overwhelmed by everything and his teeth hurt from clenching his jaw subconsciously, he can hear every noise and shuffle and it is freaking him out. Two hours into this the others notice he is being very snappy to them and starting to yell when asked small questions, he is almost biting his fingers off out of nerves until Kunikida has to drop everything and gently bring him back to the dorms even if at first he is yelled at by his usually collected partner.

Dazai is upset and unsure of everything and stays tense until they get back to Kunikida's dorm and he is wrapped up in blankets and nestled close to Kunikida. Dazai curls up tightly into a shivering ball of nerves as he waits to settle down but its quiet and secure with Kunikida, it is over all safe and sound. As an hour passes he can finally begin to unwind and release his tight jaw, he is sore but its nothing some nice face rubs and some mild pain medicine won't fix for him as his muscles relax finally. The two get the day off and rest together as Kunikida caters to Dazai's needs and makes sure no one interrupts and upsets Dazai.
