After Elation I couldn't help but notice that Marinette gets character development by getting hurt and the other characters usually get character development by hurting Marinette

My ladynoir heart can't take this episode!! Knowing that deep down BOTH Ladybug and Chat Noir wants to be with each other, even continue fighting as superheroes together with others and have a big family is just too cute and heartbreaking. Please give them that someday...
Earlier Chat Noir/Adrien wanted to reveal their identities and run away to live on an island but now both if them wants to continue fighting together to maintain peace is so much progresss...

So.... My cat got lost today, in the end she was stuck between a mini garage and wall, but got me thinking:
Chat Noir doing silly stuff when he falls of the roof while Ladybug isn't watching, so she lost him and starts searching like crazy for hours because he doesn't answer and is crying while spreading posters with his face just to find him between a large garbage bin and a wall next to where they were in the beginning and he hasn't been able to get out.

Agony
Summary: Victory comes with a heavy price.
CW: Character Death
This wasn't supposed to happen. If one of us fell...
Ladybug was the strong one. The leader, the clever planner, the survivor. Ladybug knew what to do in every situation. Ladybug had brought us our victory. Ladybug should be holding the six miraculous in my hand. Ladybug should be alert and breathing steadily. Ladybug should not be bleeding out in my arms.
Where was the damn ambulance?
"Kitty."
"M'lady?" Whatever she wanted to say, she seemed to doubt herself in it now. "You didn't have to take that blow for me," I said, trying to fill the silence.
"And let you pull all of the self-sacrificial bull? I think not." She sniffled. "I wanted more time. With Paris safe. I—I wanted time with you."
"We'll have our time, Ladybug. Just a few minutes. The medical team..." She fumbled for her yoyo, opening it so I could drop the miraculous in. "Ladybug—"
"Listen to me, Cat. You’re the guardian now."
”No.” I shook my head frantically, ignoring the gathering crowd. The cameras were now streaming this live for the country. "No, the medics are coming," I insisted. Prayed. "You’ll be just fine, Ladybug."
"Alya Césaire. Find her. She’ll t-tell you everything." I shook my head. "Kitty?"
She pressed a shaking hand over my heart and I held it there, somehow pulling her even closer. One little touch that said everything. I still loved her. She had come to love me. She took a raspy breath, mouthing one last plea. As our miraculous beeped in unison I leaned down over my partner—my soulmate—and kissed her as our identities were revealed to the world. And to each other.
There was a wailing in the crowd. Sabine. And then the chorus came. Not her. Not Marinette. I can’t lose her. This isn’t real. My partner just chuckled, deaf to their pain, adoration in her eyes. "Who else could my kitty be?" Tears had welled in her eyes. "I love—"
And she was gone. Dead. Lost to us as I heard the wailing of sirens, arriving too late for her. "Kid?" Plagg ventured as I removed her earrings, forcing my arms to release her. Forcing my feet to step backwards. Her parents and friends had as much right to her last moments as I did, yet they didn’t get to see her until she had died. "I’m sorry, kid."
I offered him the half slice of cheese that remained after the battle. "Eat, Plagg."
~~~~~
"Welcome back, Adrien," my teacher said cautiously as I entered the classroom, for a moment just staring at the empty chair beside mine.
A chair that wouldn’t fill until next September. All eyes were on me. Was that unusual? No. But I wasn’t under the model microscope now. This time I was Cat Noir, sitting down in the chair beside the one where Marinette, Paris’ dead hero, once sat. But then there was an empty table on the other side of the room. That would do just fine. And no one openly judged me for that.
"If everyone would open their books to act three. Adrien, follow along as best as you can."
I nodded, my throat too tight to speak. One of the popular girls began to read and I did my best to focus on the play. Instead I heard my partner laughing as I reenacted plays from earlier classes with an overdramatic tone or body movement, upping the flourishes of the romantic lines each time I quoted them, chasing her across Paris in the wee hours of the morning. There I went in a memory spiral. I barely survived that class. I was bolting for the door by the end of it.
Giving my free period the appreciation it deserves, I hid away, vaulting onto the school roof. Unfortunately, there was a ladder students weren’t technically supposed to be on. Did rules like that apply to her? Pretty much never.
"Adrien?" that familiar voice ventured, not seeming even a little surprised to find me openly transformed at school.
I flinched at the timid touch on my shoulder. "Chloé, I’m done with this."
"I know. I just wanted to see if you needed to vent. I’m sorry for how I’ve acted all these years. To the both of you. I can see why you fell for her."
"You know all of the kwamis have been rotating watching me since I took over the guardianship." She furrowed her brow. "She was like a fifth limb. A part of me, body and soul. We aren’t the first to bond like that. When half of the yin yang balance falls... Tikki and Plagg have lost a lot of holders to suicide. They’re all I have, Chloé. Not my mother or father. Just the kwamis."
She gave my hand a little squeeze of comfort. A simple thing I’d only felt from one person since my mothers death. "Adrien, look down there in the courtyard. What do you see?"
I glanced over the edge. “Students screwing around.”
"Adrien, really?"
"Am I supposed to give a better answer?"
"Hmm. Well, what do I see? Down there I see Alya and Nino flirting. You know, in their gross way. I see Kim and Alix arguing. Like always. Adrien, they’re trying to match the normal routine. They’re holding each other up to try and get through this." She gave a heavy sigh. "Look, we all know this is on a whole different level for you, and you can grieve for however long you need, but remember... you have all of us too. Your friends aren’t going anywhere.”
"I know. Good talk." She pursed her lips at my callous tone. Before she could lecture me the period change bell rang. I stood, stretching and silently offering her help down before detransforming for class. My gruff dismissal was wrong, yes, but I didn’t need little support talks right now. Right now I need solitude.
I have another idea for a story, but I once again don't know what to write, so I'm building a skeleton.
It's a DC x DP x ML crossover. Damien, Marinette, and Danny are triplets born into the LoA. From birth, they were taught to not see each other as siblings but as rivals for Ra's attention. When they were five, they were dipped (more like dropped) into the pits for the first time. Danny never comes back out. The second time was when they were six. Damien and Marinette came back from a mission gravely injured. Marinette doesn't come back out. Damien becomes the sole heir.
As one can imagine, Danny and Marinette aren't dead but simply taken to where they were needed at the time. That being said, things for these two characters go mostly according to their respective shows after they integrate into society. With the exception that the two of them are more competent and don't fight like rabid raccoons. But things take a dark turn when they turn sixteen.
Marinette
. After finding out that his father is Hawkmoth, Adrien is unable to carry the weight of being the holder of the cat Miraculous, as he doesn't want to fight his father and gives it to Ladybug. He promptly moves to the States to further his modeling career. Marinette, unable to find someone else worthy to be the holder of the cat Miraculous, stores it away and becomes the sole hero of Paris (with occasional helpers). But because of this, her two lives get more intertwined, and she is forced into a corner where she has to choose between being Ladybuy or Marinette.
. But she doesn't get a chance as Hawkmoth is dethroned and replaced by an even greater threat. She is forced to take on the persona of LadyNoir. Her life crumbles as she tries her hardest to balance her life as a hero and a person. She tries to save everyone but someone always ends up getting hurt. Whether it be her as Marinette, clinging to what little of her life is left. Or her as LadyNoir, with no choice but to watch innocent civilians die because she couldn't think of a better plan that could've saved everyone.
. It gets to the point where she makes an unforgivable wish. But every wish has a cost. She only finds out the price when she is forced to stand behind an invisible wall and watch as her life replays before her eyes, the film slowly burning away till there's nothing left. She cries as she falls into an ocean of familiar Lazarus green.
Danny
. Danny's life is also crumbling around him as he struggles to separate his human life from his ghost half. But after becoming the Ghost King, things only became more complicated and even more dangerous as more ghosts started coming through the portal to challenge him for the crown. And while he would really love to give it away, the guys that kept fighting him for it are very clearly evil. So he has to keep fighting, winning, and solidifying his position as the King of the Infinite Realms. But with every win comes a newfound power. Power he doesn't want. Power that scares him.
. It gets to the point when Danny has to drop out of school. He wasn't even scoring double digits anymore so what was the sense of keeping him? But Danny couldn't stay home either, it was too dangerous as his ghost and human halves were slowly becoming one. And his parents' obsession was slowly becoming a threat to him. He thought he had the solution. He was going to shut down the portal and leave Amity Park.
. It was perfect really, as no ghost portal meant no ghost. And he couldn't be vivisected if neither the GIW nor his parents could catch him. He talked the plan over with team phantom and they reluctantly agreed. The ghost portal is destroyed, and Danny leaves Amity and files over Elmerton and a few other towns. But after flying for a while, Danny gets to a sort of border where nothing meets... NOTHING. On the other side was just an infinite void. Nothing.
. Danny slowly realizes that in this world, all he knew was Amity Park. He never actually traveled or went on field trips. Never went to visit extended family nor did any visit. No one 'new' ever came to Amity Park because they were all just nearby. He learned no relevant history besides Amity Park because there was nothing outside of Amity Park. When the realization had finally set in the world began to crumble into the void and it became a race against him and the void.
. Danny knew that he was fast but the void was faster, and before he knew it he was back in Amity. He was going to warn them and try to save as many people as he could. But saw something in their eyes. They already knew. Danny watched how teary eyes and big smiles, everyone and everything he loved crumbled into the void, fading into nothingness.
Scientists across the galaxy, the universe even, often theorize about how everything came to be. Well, it didn't start with a bang, that's for sure. 'Well then how did it start?' you might ask.
Well..., it started with some tears and a scream.
I find it... kinda irritating how saying that Hero Gabriel is still a failure of a father even if he's not a bad person is apparently somewhat of a hot take.
It is irrelevant at what extreme end of the moral spectrum Gabriel is - sadistic villain or heroic saint - fact still remains that you wouldn't notice either with Monarque or Hesperia that they are fathers at all, while simultaneously both Adriens are clearly depicted as teenagers who basically have to re-settle themselves into their lives after they were emotionally orphaned in every sense that matters.
It is irrelevant that Alt Gabriel is a hero, not a bad person or that he wasn't outright abusive like our Gabriel, nothing will change the fact that Griffe Noire Adrien's path to healing goes the same route as our Adrien's.
And that is AWAY from his father, not WITH him.
Griffe Noire at the end was roughly were our Adrien started off at the beginning of the show, just this time with a better path ahead Ladynoir wise since they know their identities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He changed for the better when our Adrien gave him the self-acceptance, understanding and sympathy he didn't receive from Alt Gabriel or anyone else for the matter.
Helped him overcome the grief of loosing their mother and accepting that the self-harming behavior he's acting on (or both of them) is not something she would want for them.
There are 2 reasons why Alt Adrien couldn't get over his mother's death, and that's 1) because unlike our Adrien, Alt Adrien didn't try finding new happiness in friendship, and 2) because he too couldn't count on his remaining parent (Gabriel) which made him feel his mother's loss even worse.
Alt Gabriel could be the greatest hero of all time and he still would be a fucked up father because he was so busy being a saint that he apparently barely was a father. When alt Gabe cries in the sewer one would think he'd bring up his child as one of his main motivations, but no, he doesn't.
Because Hesperia is just as little characterized as a FATHER as Monarque.
That aspect of Gabriel didn't change.
Hesperia didn't even fucking know that his son is Griffe Noire either, how attentive to you think this man IS??
Alt Adrien goes on the same path as our Adrien and that's away from being emotionally dependent on his father - the way a 14 year old should normally ALLOWED TO BE bc thats NATURAL and how it's supposed to be - to make friends, but most importantly he sure as hell went on being emotionally dependend on HIS Maribug the way our Adrien was/is
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Especially the last picture is extremely telling (and one would think our Marinette would finally start paying attention bc Griffe Noire's change right in front of her eyes is literally all she would need to help her fully understand HER Chat Noir's behavior and how that came to be. But apparently we can't ever have Marinette pick up on the most obvious stuff about Chat Noir's problems).
Unlike Toxinelle who is waving goodbye while holding Griffe's hand, HE is not acknowledging our dimension anymore even when he's the last one to enter the portal by a good bit, bc he's so fixated on his Maribug as his whole world bc just like our Adrien he's literally emotionally an orphan and needs an anchor like everyone else.
Good chance that Toxinelle thinks they're just normally holding hands and she's merely going in first, but no, he is letting her lead him out. He doesn't care whats behind or ahead of him, he's just seeing her.
Alt Gabriel is an awful father and you can tell because Alt Adrien literally has to re-settle in life similar to an orphan while his father is still alive and living in the same damn house!
THAT'S what decides if Alt Gabriel is an awful father, NOT him running around as a charming hero. The quality of parenthood is NOT measured by how "good of a person" the parent is, it's measured by the child's fucking well-being
And I don't know if you noticed it by now, but this is the same logic as our Gabriel being hailed a hero after his death. The special already elaborates on this new angle of Gabriel suddenly being a "hero" while he very clearly was a monstrous failure of a father (and person).
So what side are YOU gonna be on here?
Are you going to victim blame Adrien by just declaring Gabriel Agreste a great, blameless and loving father now because that's what you're being told at face-value while the narrative conveniently plays the case in Gabriel's favors by removing all of them from the dimension they are actually from so his faults are being mostly covered up, and Adrien's looks worse without its proper context of their home-dimension and father-son dynamic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or are you going to fucking LOOK at the child this amazing hero is emotionally abandoning on a daily in way too many ways and ask yourself if that's the result of a competent and attentive parent?
thinking back to the post exaltation era twitter marichat stans were something else bc half of them were like MARICHAT KISS IS THE BEST ONE EVER and the other half were like WOOHOO MARICHAT IS THE FIRST SIDE OF THE LOVE SQUARE TO OFFICIALLY KISS which is funny bc its equivalent to an only child being told they’re the ‘favorite child’ BUT what was MORE EMBARRASSING were the twitter ladynoir stans bending over saying ‘yes as a ladynoir stan i also think the marichat kiss was better’ BETTER THAN WHAT THO…… ladynoir kisses only exist on french google dot com and IN THEIR DREAMS 😂😂😂
yin and yang for the ask game!
A few comments on the last update said they could already swap back, and I'm like, umm... we haven't even explore the Ladynoir dynamic yet. ...
Context: Marinette as Chat Noir just sacrificed herself in battle for Ladybug.
Chat Noir felt the ladybugs buzzing across her skin as she came back to herself. She looked herself up and down - it looked like everything was in place.
It was almost surreal.
She grunted when Ladybug tackled her in a hug.
“Don’t ever do that again!” he cried.
She pulled away. “Are you serious right now?”
“Yes! I can’t! I don’t know what I’m doing! I need you! You’re…”
“More important?” she filled in.
“Yes!” he snapped.
“Because?” she prompted when he didn’t elaborate.
“Because you’re…” he trailed off, his eyes suddenly wide.
“Because I’m Ladybug?” she filled in.
He dropped his head.
“Because I’m not Ladybug right now,” she whispered gently. She of course knew exactly what he was feeling right now.
“You’re more important to me,” he whispered, still not meeting her eyes.
