falling madly in love with a woman after telling her (and her mother) to her face that she is remarkably similar to her brother in every way is really just all-around incredible behaviour Razumikhin no one is doing it like you do

Is it really a good book if there aren't any characters having complex relations with substance abuse and god?

i love finding traces of people in things. i borrowed crime and punishment from the library some time ago and found a library receipt for a russian grammar book in between the pages. perhaps this person also had a copy of crime and punishment in its original language and was studying russian, and had used the library receipt as a bookmark. if i recall correctly, this wasn't very far into the book. it makes me wonder if they ever managed to finish reading it at all.

There is something about classic literature that hits different - which is not to say that modern literature lacks depth - there is just something so incredible about reading something and knowing that these same words were consumed by people decades, centuries before you took your first breath. And they loved and felt the stories the way you do& despite all the time separating you you’re still connected…

Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth.

Just so yall know, whenever I say "oh they're just a silly little guy!!!" what I actually mean is "I'm aware of all of the atrocities they've committed, and all of the depth and nuance that they hold, and I love them for it" ok? Ok. Now let me enjoy my silly little guys they are so silly
