she’s not what he expected. He had found a message to meet him at this address, having thought it would be something closer to a Deepthroat situation than finding one of Gotham’s Finest. Head tilted to the side as he approached her, making sure to chain his bike to a nearby meter before he made his presence more obvious when she seemed to have been too distracted, too consumed by her thoughts to immediately notice him.

Firstly why wouldn’t it be okay!! You are the sweetest soul, and that just make you so unbelievably amazing. I adore talking to you, I really do, even when at times I turn back into a potato and drop into the abyss. And it’s fun, I mean, I’m pretty sure I lost count on how many times we dragged ‘Miah and Harley for being gremlins. but also throwing ideas back and fort it’s so fun to do with you, I wouldn’t be lying to say that I have you to thank that my love for writing Lee came back. And your Harley? It’s such a fresh take on her and it’s one of my absolute favorite that sometimes I forget she isn’t canon, that’s just how good she is, and how wonderful you are with her portrayal. You are a gem and you are so loved so never let the bad thoughts get to you because I’m going to shoo them away.

    she didn’t know what to make of them when she first saw them. big, and covered in coarse-looking fur, faces covered in blood and the strangest sounds coming from their mouths. she was instantly fascinated by them, and - ignoring her own hunger that had been steadily building and dissatisfied with weeks of garbage and rodents - decided to follow them. they seemed, if nothing else, well-fed.

    delphi wasn’t sure what she expected to come from her observations of them. they were obviously nothing more than savage animals, meaning that she would not be able to learn anything from them that would help her integrate within the society and, ultimately, get her out of the sewers. she found their juxtaposition of high-pitched noise and ferocious nature adorable, so she trailed behind them until finally she was rewarded for her patience. 

   though first-assuming that they were just wild animals, it seemed that even they had someone they answered to. a petite, cloud-coloured woman with blonde hair seemed to be someone of importance - or, at the very least, not food - and treated them as if they were the domesticated animals on leashes delphi had seen running around, rather than the vicious predators she had observed. odd, relative to the other earthern beings she’d seen, but perhaps...

   delphi took a step forward, made herself more visible, but stayed far enough away that she could escape if she needed to.

   “Hello.”
