Another Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda…. (of sorts)
Sergio coulda had more fun with this cut. He shoulda taken it high & tight next, followed up with a narrow strip hawk, before he woulda shaved it all.
Check out Liam Payne’s Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda cut here.

high school theater is so funny cus like. one year you can have the most cunt wrenching performance of Phantom Of The Opera ever brought to life by 17 year olds and the next year. a really mediocre rendition of Seussical The Musical.

So I finally got around to that "inevitable angst" I was talking about XDD
Silly Octo, you should have given your wound ample time to heal! Now look at you, struck down and in critical condition. And look at that! You made your best friend cry. All because you couldn't accept the fact that you were weaker than the rest of your crew and needed extra time to recover. Silly goose! 🦆 🦆

Just some cute fluff. Eugene • Jake • Hudson
Tumblr media
𝐄𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞
🝮 He enjoys the feeling of your fingers intertwined.
🝮 He has a habit of folding his hands behind his back. It’s either that or resting them together on a table.
🝮 It’s a comfortable position for him. He never realized it felt even better to hold some else’s hand.
🝮 The warm tingle when your fingers brushed into his palm was something he looked forward to.
🝮 Never in public. Always in private.
🝮 Sitting down with you after a long day, resting his eyes, cradling your hands with his
🝮 That’s an ideal situation for Eugene. He couldn’t ask for much more.
🝮 He enjoys holding your hand up to his cheek, letting you caress his face. Sneaking small kisses against your fingers. Never letting go of your hand.
🝮 You’re probably the only one that can tell… but it doesn’t change the fact that Eugene is down bad for you. It also doesn’t change the fact that he’s touch starved in a way and hates to admit it… but holding your hand is the tiny amount of contact that he tolerates and enjoys-
Tumblr media
𝐉𝐚𝐤𝐞
🝮 Now as willing to hug and kiss all the time is Jake is, sometimes he just likes to keep it simple.
🝮 It’s romantic to him. Holding your hand.
🝮 Your hands slip into each others so easily, it’s almost like they’re puzzle pieces.
🝮 He gets tingles whenever your fingers lace together. For all his talk, Jake is pretty inexperienced when it comes to romantic relationships.
🝮 He reaches out to pull you closer, bringing you to his side as you walk down the street. Arms brushing against each other, hands pressed together.
🝮 Not all the time, but sometimes. He’s not overly affectionate of course. He’ll initiate hand-holding on walks… during dinner…
🝮 Hold hands as he kisses you senseless. Interlock fingers as your free hand digs through his hair. Hold hands as he presses his body against yours and molds his lips with yours.
🝮 Yeah… Jake likes to hold hands.
Tumblr media
𝐇𝐮𝐝𝐬𝐨𝐧
🝮 His knuckles are rough and withered as sand paper, to be frank.
🝮 He’s even cut his niece’s forehead before… trying to sweep some of her bangs out of her eyes. His skin is coarse… he’s aware.
🝮 He doesn’t know why you enjoy holding his hands so much.
🝮 You grab them during the cold, weaseling your icy fingertips into his warm palm. He brushes it off.
🝮 You grab his hand while you’re studying. It’s a little odd. He tries to ignore it.
🝮 When you begin holding his hand at random he finds it really unusual. You don’t actually like it… do you? The rough feel of his knuckles and palms. Even his fingertips are comparable to sandpaper.
🝮 You kiss his knuckles, dragging your lips over his coarse skin. He wants to flinch, but doesn’t. He wants to look away from you, but he doesn’t.
🝮 Holding hands with you is really nice…

No one ever talks about the fact that Elle Greenaway, Aaron Hotchner, and Spencer Reid all lived at the same apartment complex, The Langham.
Tumblr media
We see Elle leaving her apartment when Hotch is following her in 2x6 - maybe that is where he learned about the apartment complex. We can also see Elle getting into her car, which has Virginia plates, so we know this apartment complex is in Virginia - not D.C.
Tumblr media
In 5x1, we see Emily go to Hotch's apartment to check on him. This is also when we learn that Hotch is on the first floor in apartment 121. We later see him in this same apartment with Jack and Beth in 7x23 and when he is arrested in 11x22, just to name a few.
Tumblr media
We see the outside of Spencer's apartment in 9x24 when Alex goes to leave after taking Spencer home. Spencer looks outside and watches Alex get into a taxi. We can see part of the green canopy and the street when Alex walks, but we can also see Spencer standing at the window. The window matches the same windows on The Langham. We can even see a spot on the sidewalk where the street lamp used to be. This is also when we learn that Spencer is on the second floor, apartment 23.
Tumblr media
In 1x22, we see Elle be attacked in her home - not an apartment - meaning she moved into Langham apartments after her attack.
Up until Hotch was divorced, he lived in his home in Arlington, Virginia with Haley and Jack - so we know he moved into the complex sometime around season three or four.
We didn't see Spencer's apartment until season eight but we know in 3x2 that Spencer's Volvo has Washington D.C. plates but when we see his car again in 10x13, he had Virginia plates. We can assume that means that Spencer moved from Washington D.C. to the Langham apartments in Virginia at some point between season three and season eight.
Meaning, Elle lived in the Langham apartments before Hotch and Spencer - but Hotch and Spencer lived there only one floor apart at the same time.

Literally though "Why would Izzy be so against Edward's embracing the crew in his grief if he wasn't a femme-gay-hating homophobe hmm???" Because they are boat based criminals, Margaret.
Because they scare people for a living. Because they are social outcasts making a system work for them that was never intended to. Because Izzy is a hardened, paranoid bastard who thinks being weak in front of people you cannot trust is how you get killed, and staying alive is more important to him than emotional fulfillment. Because he doesn't trust the Revenge to be a safe space.
There's a really-not-that-hard to spot story here about community and support and the importance of being yourself openly, but it's rooted in the community bit. In having a group of people who you trust and are comfortable with before you start feelings-circling your softest bits.
No fucking shit the antagonist whose defining experiences on the Revenge were mockery, disrespect, having his crewmate spread an embarrassing story to the enemy, more targeted mockery, being lied to, and then being banished does not view the Revenge as a safe space to be vulnerable. 🙄 Is he probably going to learn that being a dick to keep anyone from bonding with you is part of his problem and that physical safety isn't everything? Learn the value of community and letting go of defensive maladaptive behaviors that actively harm yourself and others? Seems likely.
But fucking hell it is not actually a sign of undeniable moral corruption to not instinctively trust strangers to welcome you into the fold and become your support system. Especially when they don't.
(Hell, our protagonist Stede doesn't open up even as he preaches the importance of opening up - because he too needs to learn about safe spaces and community support.)

Wizard 101: Hey kid, you just got pulled into Wizard School, and it looks like you're ready to start. Go down that path and someone will teach you to fight. Oh shit, that's Malistare, uhhhh, *one minor battle later* Good job kid. Go and do some little quests and beat up some fairies, you're doing great! :)
Pirate 101: You're in jail. Pirates are breaking you out of jail! They're... asking about your trauma. You're a pirate, an orphan, the son of a whore and a scotsman, you were raised by another group of people, now you're pulling a jail break and helping other prisoners escape! A uhhh, a guy threatens to murder you. He's the one who locked you up. The pirate guy almost dies and you have to drive his ship??? *one stressful sail later* Hey kid, go beat up this guy who stole from me. I'm gonna cheat and scam you, btw, just so you know. :)

Can you elaborate on the Our Flag Means Death thing? If you want
Yeah! So I get that realism isn't the be-all end-all of fiction, but. I really wish Taika Waititi et al. had done even 30 seconds of research on 18th century American history before they wrote an extended joke about the protagonist having a "man for sale" in episode 3. Yes, it's a white man being sold, but a guy still gets led to a market by a rope around his neck and then auctioned off... and this is played for laughs. I don't know a ton of Caribbean history, but even I know that no one in Nassau in 1717 would have been confused by the idea of selling a human being, the way they are on OFMD.
That was all before I found out that the real Stede Bonnet was a known enslaver and possible rapist. I think his story could be a horror comedy about a horrible person being horrible (see: What We Do in the Shadows) but the Stede we see on OFMD spouts progressive pop-psych slogans and is allegedly here to teach us radical self-love. Not a great combination.
Also, I'm one of the people who found OFMD unwatchable partially because I'd seen Black Sails. Black Sails came out 8 years before, features a lot of the same historical figures and Treasure Island characters, and has more queer rep than OFMD. But Black Sails's main plot is about a doomed-yet-glorious fight to end slavery in the Americas in the 1700s, and it is unflinchingly honest in its depictions of racism, imperialism, and homophobia. So it's jarring and deeply unfunny to see some of that same material cleaned up (the polyamorous main character is now a monogamous gay man; the kill-or-be-enslaved stakes are now potted plant thefts) or else swept under the rug (acknowledging slavery and homophobia would ruin the fun! let's pretend they don't exist!) for a different show that gets lauded as "groundbreaking" for its milquetoast repackaging of queerness.

I met people I knew only online for the first time irl last night and I'm still extremely exhausted cause I am not a social person so here. Take an OC.
Katale (Kitty) is wonderful and I love her and she's a criminal and that's fine. She likes to look cute and so whenever I see a really cute outfit in public with a specific vibe, I'm like "Kitty would love that". So here. Please. Please know that I saw this very pretty woman jogging with her hair pulled back, running shorts, and the CUTEST top with a little scarf from the same fabric tied and wow. It was. So wonderful, please have a wonderful day @ the lady I saw jogging yesterday.

And a minute ago they were so worried about her leaving without taking any money.
I absolutely adore that this trait of Nami’s never changes. Most of the Straw Hats aren’t overtly criminals, in the sense that the only thing that makes them criminals is the very act of calling themselves pirates and therefore anti-government. They don’t pillage towns, they don’t attack civilians, they don’t loot other ships… Any time these things do happen there are always extenuating circumstances that we as readers can point to as a reason it’s okay.
Nami is different. Nami is a career thief. She is good at it, she likes doing it, and she’s never going to stop. She is an “immoral” character and she’s also written in such a way that none of that matters. This isn’t a “god forbid women do anything” or “girlboss” thing. This is “sometimes characters are morally questionable and that is not a problem. You can and should continue to like them.”

i happened upon dan heng's note in his room regarding the xianzhou luofu... particularly the line about how the luofu guards the secrets of immortality extremely strictly against short-lived species, and then thinking about dan feng and his love for a man of a short-lived species. he loved yingxing so much. ough. my heart. dan heng warns against it bc of that past... dan feng went for it wholeheartedly because he couldn't handle grief and loss. god. dan feng was so full of love, that it was his downfall -- of himself and everyone around him. sobbing.
