最近日曜日は、近所にあるお肉屋さんで鳥丸ごと買って、ローストチキンを作って簡単なのに豪華なデイナーを作るのにハマっています。

Gotten this pack of Lay's Maxx Roasted Chicken Wing Flavour Chips (香脆烤鸡翅味) from the local supermarket. The thick wavy cut potato chips held their shape well in the bag while being crispy and crunchy. But the seasonings barely evoked the feeling that I am eating roasted chicken wing, maybe just some barbeque hints.

I got off work when the sun is still out, it is +5 degrees- a little crisp in the air but being outdoors is still enjoyable, my apartment is freshly deep cleaned, and I just spent $30 at the grocery store and I got everything I need to meal prep three different kinds of soup and bake fresh bread tonight. love is real

love being in charge of thanksgiving dinner i taste tested the turkey and went god damn this is the worst bird ive made to date by far but no skin off my back. then dinner rolls around and people are begging me to open a restaurant

#abrahim: im sorry but the cranberry sauce was a little too spicy this year #me (agrees): thats ok barby #abrahim 20 minutes later: actually after having a little more i changed my mind it’s really good #i should use this power for evil or something #woof #guest: the bird is SO moist #me: it’s like drywall actually but thanks?#what fucking thanksgiving dinners have you people been having. jesus christ #anyway here’s a rundown of the dinner.#potato leek soup: what it says on the tin. blended to a puree. the secret ingredient is curry powder and i #dress it with a basil infused EVOO drizzle and top with crispy bacon.#turkey: i brine in an orange-apple cider vinegar-white onion-cinnamon-star anise brine for at least overnight #then cover in a compound butter of rosemary sage oregano and garlic #aromatics in the cavity #the cranberry sauce is made with orange juice star anise and cinnamon.#i also repurposed some of #the cranberry sauce this year to infuse into my candied pomelo rinds #the mashed potatoes are mashed potatoes. idk I hate cooking potatoes I didn’t do anything special there #just a fuckton of butter. it’s meant to be a canvas for the rest of the food anyway.#zayn was in charge of veg because he is a veg god. he did brussel sprouts and roasted sweet potato #and both were a highlight for lots of people. he keeps things simple too but he just knows what herbs and spices to use #he’s so so good at keeping things healthy which imo is a greater accomplishment than what i do #all of my siblings are amazing cooks #oh and for dessert I ordered a lemon lavender cake for Zayn’s birthday and picked up pumpkin and pecan pies. barby brought eggnog

my favorite roasted air fryer carrot recipe:

cut ur carrots into strips, like french fry

season with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, parsley, thyme, ur favorite herbs etc

air fry at 400 for 10min shake shake and another 5-10min

#best with sour cream and chives but also amazing just with butter salt and chives #i only made baked potatoes like two months ago for the first time and i am devastated i haven't had them like this before #my parents would bake them skinless with a roast chicken or beef but these are like. supreme for sure #i also put oil onto the skins and salt its so crospy good mmmmmmmmm #dont bake em with foil if you want a crispy skin

Beef Carpaccio was the favourite among the three starters I have tried. Thinly sliced charred beef loin still raw in the centre drizzled in Dijon mustard dressing under arugula, crispy garlic, capers and shaved Parmesan cheese. All these components added up to a deserving appetizer.

For the main course of Roasted Beef Tenderloin, my colleague picked the full-bodied Clos du Bois red wine to go with the red meat. Bright, vibrant flavours of apple blossom, sweet citrus and pear layer over a core of minerality with toasty brown spice and creamy custard. The wine is full bodied and rich with a silky texture and a long finish. The medium rare beef was so wonderfully tender and flavourful, almost melt in the mouth texture, enhanced by the rich and robust morel mushroom sauce. And on the side are buttery mashed potato and asparagus that were a little fibrous.
