Crochet Commissions!

For those who don't know me, I'm Alex (she/they), and I started the year off with Covid. Because I had to take two weeks off work, I'm really hurting for money right now, so I'm opening up a limited number of slots for crochet commissions to try to fill in that financial gap.

ALL of the materials I use are machine washer/dryer safe

When I did my poll, most people voted for stuffed animals, and I recently finished a few that I can show my skills with. The blue penguin is my latest finished piece, with the purple penguin the first thing I ever crocheted side-by-side for comparison of how much I've learned in the last ~7 months. The mouse is technically unfinished because the eyes aren't embroidered yet, but I made it in about a day and a half, for timeline purposes.

I also just finished the above dice bag octopus about an hour ago for my roommate, which took about three hours of non-stop work (I turned on a movie and got through the stitches pretty quick). I can make them in any color you want, with either the plastic safety eyes or embroidered eyes. Most of these can be entirely customizable, just let me know what you're thinking and I'll see what I can do!

I don't have any pictures of any of the hats or scarves I've made because it's been a few years, but I made some stockings for the apartment for Christmas last month, and that's one of my most recent projects. The green one was the last one I made, and probably the most accurate to what my capabilities are now.

If you'd like a stocking for Christmas 2024, let me know! I have an unlimited number of slots for them as the holiday is far enough away that the time crunch isn't so rough.

The least popular item in my poll was the blankets, which I understand. And I'm only going to open one slot for them at a time because they take so long and so much yarn to make. The wave pattern (both blankets pictured above) is my favorite to do, but I have patterns for most simple designs, or I can likely easily google it and put it together for you. Prices are based on the time and materials these take to make, but because they're so much more expensive than the smaller items above, domestic (US) shipping is free.

All items - unless otherwise discussed - are made using acrylic yarns and hypoallergenic filling in a pet-free environment.

So I'm starting a page for my crocheting, so people could commission things if they wanted. But I want more examples of my work to post, beyond the little woobles kits.

so, here's the thing...

blankets are big and time consuming and take up a lot of yarn. I will open up commissions and have blankets as an option, but...

they will be expensive. baby blanket $50/throw blanket ~$100/full size blanket ~$200 kind of expensive. priced to account for both the material and my time making it.

only one blanket slot. I'll happily do so many stuffed animals, and I can rock out like two hats in a day, but blankets take weeks to put together. I don't want to create a backlog of blankets and make people wait forever to get them, especially when I have other projects I want to get done for myself and Kit and coworkers who have commissioned me.

I'll include how many slots are available for each category (stuffed animals, blankets, wearables) in the commission post, as well as actual prices (and potentially shipping costs? we'll see), for easy access.

I just have to finish two almost done projects before I can make the post so you guys can have visuals for my work, minus hats and scarves because I haven't done either one recently, but I still know how to make them. (I will be including the stockings I made for Christmas in the visuals, just to show them because they are my most recent completed project)

I don’t normally do this, but I came out as non-binary at work and they cut my hours so that i’m now losing $60 a week. i put in my 2 weeks and am looking for a job, but haven’t gotten any offers yet and i’m worried i’ll be in between work for a bit and unable to pay for groceries. because of this, i’m opening commissions! i will crochet anything as long as there’s a pattern available, and am opening physical art commissions as well, offering oil paintings, pen drawings, graphite drawings, and charcoal drawings. on top of that, i have a vast expanse of photography and mixed media art projects that i am happy to send digital copies of for a small fee or send physical prints for a little bit more!
