So my real first attempt at faux locs (ft help from my mommy 😂)

These are crochet faux locs with individuals in the perimeter (I think we did 2 or 3 rows in the front and one row in the back). We wrapped the individuals with waterwave hair that I teased out to fluff (next time I'll try Marley hair out spring twists I think they're called?)

Ofc it was neater and less flexible at first noted in the below picture (I blow-dried the roots then laid a scarf to help it lower) this was day 1 cuz we did it the night before

I enjoy the "distressed" locs so I knew once I got some wear and tear it'll work out more which it did. It got super flexible by the second day

Also they're 24" and a little springy, so they fall about here (I'm 5'7")

Overall it took about 3-4 hours. It went well for a first time but we started in the evening so it was more tiring. My hair is REALLY dense so I think next time I'll have to plan even further to split my parts more so I can do more pieces. Mind you this amount was perfect for me to test out especially cuz I tend to do medium/large braids, and the hair is still light weight. We used about 3 and a quarter packs of the waterwave (about 4 pieces each individual cuz my hair is thick) and I think 2 of the faux locs which was GREAT. This weekend will be the second week but I might keep it in another week or so (depending how I feel lol).

I did try to set it a bit in hot water but it flattened some of the end. It added to the look so it wasn't a bother for me plus it added to the length but for others it might be annoying.

We mainly followed two videos on YouTube to get the technique down and adjust it to me. Tumblr won't let me link because they're rude so here are screenshots in case anyone needs the titles
