reread crookedstar’s promise again today and realized that silverstream is probably a LOT older than graystripe (not to mention graystripe was very young for a warrior as well). here’s my reasoning-
mousefur and runningwind are a few moons older than mistyfoot and stonefur. willowbreeze tells crookedstar that she’s expecting kits when mistyfoot and stonefur have been in riverclan for a whole years, putting them at around 13 moons (i think). silverstream is born three months later. mousefur was around 4 years old when into the wild began, putting mistyfoot at a little less than that. WHICH in turn puts silverstream at around 2.5 years or a little bit more at the beginning of into the wild. when graystripe would have been 6-7 moons. i don’t know if it’s creepy, just a little odd. i think this would have put graystripe at around 15 months or less when he first met silverstream (he and firestar were made warriors early), and silverstream would have been around like 30 something moons?
(also, i calculated mousefur by subtracting firestar’s age at death from her age at death, since they died the same night. and i used the wiki so i don’t know how accurate this is, but this is just what i think.)
there have definitely been worse age gaps in warriors (cough thornclaw and blossomfall cough) but i hadn’t realized before. this is probably just because silverstream was introduced before crookedstar’s promise came out and the author’s didn’t account for/didn’t care about the age gap but i like making fun of this series so <3

Graypool's choice of a mate (Rippleclaw) is bonkers to me.
he's a warrior when she was taken away to windclan as a kit. during that scene he yells at Fallowtail for being disloyal, asks how they could they trust half clan cats, and makes a snide comment when Fallowtail goes back to the nursery after the kits are taken. he's also just a dick through out the whole book. like Graypool, ur taste is horrible lmao
