Axe of the Day - LTD F-10 . This is the guitar that started it all. I was always a bassist, never a guitarist. I had an acoustic that I would use to flesh out song ideas, but always only played bass in all my bands until I stopped playing in 1991. After 25 years, devoid of any musical pursuits, I picked up my bass again, when I got my son a drum set for Christmas. We would go to the music store every weekend that he would come to my house (divorce stuff). We would play in the basement, and I started to feel the old urge to play and write. At that point I thought maybe I would find a local band and just play for fun. One day at the store, I saw this guitar on the rack, and it was, like, $120. I said to myself, it's time to learn how to play guitar. I bought it, along with a little Line 6 Spider IV (don't laugh, I still have that sucker in the living room). Started practicing, writing, etc, etc, and here we are. Still trying to learn how to play the damn thing, but, it's the journey, not the destination!! . As with many inexpensive guitars, the pickups were not amazing, although serviceable. I put in a Seymour Duncan SH-11 in the bridge, and Seymour Duncan Custom Stack Plus Strat in the neck. It rocks pretty well now! . This is the lowest on their F tier, so not a lot of bells and whistles, but like any LTD I have or have checked out, it handles really well. One volume, one tone, 3 way switch, and 24 frets on a 25-1/2" scale neck gets the job done. . Axe of the Day - Hamer Blitz Bass . Ordered this one to be made just for me back in 1982 (3?). It is American made, and all the dings and wear and tear are mine. This replaced my Rickenbacker 4001 as my main bass. This bass is from when I actually played in bands, live and in person! If I wasn't at rehearsal or on stage, this was still around my neck being played. I literally walked around the house with this on. . I kind of miss those days. My last gig was with The Skulls at the end of the summer in 1991, thirty years ago. I didn't start playing again until about 7 years ago, and decided to take up guitar. . Anyway, this is a deep blue with the carve outs around the perimeter front and back in black. It has Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickups, two volumes and a tone, all of which are dimed at all times. Just sayin'... . Axe of the Day - Kramer Pacer Series Tiger Stripe . I picked this one up used from a Facebook friend who bought it new, and thought it would be the perfect guitar for him. As it turned out, he didn't really like it, and reached out to me to see if I would be interested in it, before he listed it on the marketplace. Silly question, since you can clearly see I have it now! 👍😊 . Really cool throwback styling, I can almost hear George and Warren shredding in the distance! It has a Floyd Rose original tremelo, Seymour Duncan JB and JH, 22 frets on a 25-1/2" maple fretboard, just like the doctor ordered. Really nice, really smooth, easy playing 80s metal machine. .
