It’s so nice, thinking about the soundtrack for this season of Loki. Thinking of how throughout the season, and especially near the end, there are those distant voices of a choir, building from a quiet murmur to booming with song in the finale. Thinking about how the voices of the choir whisper so faintly you can barely hear them as Loki cries over the loss of his friends, hearing Mobius’ and Sylvie’s echoing words about life and loss, and finally as he timeslips at will for the first time, the choir voices fade away as if satisfied, for he is moments away from achieving his glorious purpose. Thinking about how as Loki ascends the steps toward the throne with the threads of time in his hands, the choir no longer whispers in the distance but instead raise their voices in song, reciting “Lokasenna” in honour of his newfound purpose. And as we pull away to see his Yggdrasil, the voices become as quiet as Loki is burdened, but left with a twinkle of hope in the soft music that plays afterward as the Tree forms. It’s so nice to think about how this, this is a score truly made for the God of Stories. Thank you Natalie Holt and all the rest for giving us this music, it couldn’t have been more perfect 🎶💚

he feels like the luckiest man to have ever been born. damn all the years of pain that came before Faye. they were worth it. he'd do them again and again and again if it meant they'd end up together in every lifetime.

this has probably been pointed out before, but I'm on my (number I won't disclose) rewatch of the last of us and realized something.

Bill and Frank are so similar to Joel and Ellie. obviously not the whole relationship, but the way that grumpy old man who doesn't want to deal with other people gets forced to deal with a happy and bubbly person. so much that it changes them. like Bill wanted nothing to do with Frank at the beginning. but he kept him around for a little bit and Frank's sass and sarcasm and optimism (in this world?) won him over. it got to the point they did everything together. and when Frank said "today's my last day," Bill was so worried because that's his man. what does he mean?? but then Bill decided if Frank's going, he is too. because there's no life without Frank. the world has no meaning. there's no point to living if Frank's gone.

same with Joel and Ellie. Joel wanted nothing to do with her at the beginning. there's no way he's gonna smuggle a child. but there was something in it for him, so he did. and they grew together. because Ellie's sass and sarcasm and optimism grew on him - and maybe it's because she reminded him of Sarah. but they did everything together and they crossed a country with each other, so of course they're gonna get close at some point. so when Joel finds out what they plan to do to Ellie at that hospital, something turned in him. cause they're gonna kill her and there's no point to living if he looses her. if he looses another daughter. you can't tell me he wouldn't have actually hit the mark this time if they did kill Ellie. he already lost one daughter and tried to kill himself. if he lost a second? he wouldn't have missed again. because there's no point. he was meant to protect Ellie and he almost failed her again.

they're protectors. they're meant to protect. so when the one person they want to protect the most is in a life or death situation, they're going to extremes. whether that be dying alongside him or murdering an entire hospital to protect her. because that's their world. Frank and Ellie are Bill and Joel's entire worlds. there's no life without them.
