I accidentally rediscovered a bit of Ancient Wisdom™ over Thanksgiving, so I thought I'd share it with you all ahead of Major Winter Holidays™.

I managed to blunder my way into the most peaceful Thanksgiving I've had with my family in fucking years by showing up a full 90 minutes before I was expected with a Can-Do™ Vaguely Judgey™ attitude and a whole bunch of shit that I was not asked to bring, and if you keep the visit relatively brief, that can be all you need to keep your most obstreperous relatives floundering around looking for the high ground until you are safely out of the building and off to enjoy the company of people you Actually Like and Appreciate™!

Holidays are a contact sport and it's high time you started punching above your weight class!

I think the fact that yjk “was” streamer is so funny bc that man could not post. Truly opposite enegy of the Dokja would be such a good poster wait no he was so bad he was banned post. That’s what the apocalypse does to a mother fucker kills the posters spirit and reignites it in others.

there's like. a five minute window where you can get Rachel up in the morning and she Won't take your head off but otherwise she's one of those ppl who needs caffeine + nicotine + 10 minutes to lament her existence Immediately or she'll be grumpy as sin the whole day. says she 'doesn't believe in the concept of breakfast,' and pretty much only has some if Chloe is around to pester her about it

Chloe is The Most restless sleeper. she's snoozing at 40 different angles. she's halfway to the floor. she's curled up at the end of the bed like a cat. all in the span of like half an hour. Rachel doesn't mind but only bc she sleeps like a fucking log and basically has no idea

Max will be out for all of five minutes and wake up in a rush like "damn i slept in why didn't you guys get me up" and amberprice are just staring at her like "babygirl there is something so very very wrong with you"

Rachel sleeptalks. like, entire nonsensical conversations and complete gibberish delivered with the utmost confidence type of deal. Max thinks it's cute but doesn't bring it up. Chloe also thinks it's cute and brings it up at every available opportunity

the only place Max will take a (mostly) uninterrupted nap is in the backseat of the truck while amberprice are up front singing along to whatever's on the radio. they're both aware of this and constantly coming up with excuses to go for a drive

whenever Max is having a particularly bad night due to the Paranoid Insomnia™️, Chloe will try and stay up with her. sometimes they have midnight movie marathons, sometimes they just talk for a while. Chloe never quite manages to make it through the whole night but Max appreciates it regardless

   Chrollo turns his head now to look at Embrace directly.  “  I will haunt you.  “  It is not a threat, nor is it a promise. It is a statement spoken with a confidence more akin to the Fates than to man. “  I will haunt you through the years, because even Death cannot escape his own ghosts. “

   Now his gaze lifts up, staring at nothing in particular.  “  But will I come back?  “  He falls quiet for a long moment.  “  I should think not. What would there be to come back?  “  Reflection comes in the quiet of the last few leaves clinging onto tree branches.  “  Then again, perhaps even when I die, I won’t. As long as the Spider survives, then so will I.  “  Not literally of course, such immortality held no interest of the troupe leader. But the spider was his. He would haunt the narrative of this world in the afterimages he left behind. From the horrors of the Kurta Massacre to the theft of priceless items, to whatever the troupe may do.

   His chin lowered, pondering set aside to gaze at Embrace with a gentle smile.  “  I apologize if that is not the answer you seek. But you already knew the answer, didn’t you?  “  He raises an eyebrow slightly.  “  When my final moment comes, I will not fight it. Whether that be today or years from now. “  He hums.  “  I wonder, though. Will it go gently? Or will it dissipate like smoke?  “  Of course Chrollo knew he had a candle. But could souls ever simply...fall apart? Chrollo was not so confident that his soul would remain condensed even for Embrace. ( What did a soul do when a person saw no sense of self? What could a soul ever form around and attach itself for if there was no identity, no focus?  ).

   “  But rest assured. I think I will haunt you for a while.  “  A form of immortality more fitting for Chrollo. Not by life, but through memory. One day, he might be forgotten, but what ghost doesn’t have its own second death?
