"Special delivery!" Shouted a boy, who should not be here at all speeding towards them on a hoverboard. Easily dodging the attacks that flew at him due to his sudden entrance with tricks and teases of "Miss me!" or "Even my dad can shoot better than that!"
Regardless, he came to a quick stop before the Flash, rummaged around in his pocket and throwing something into the air that quickly became a green shield that looked like a Lantern contruct but yet not quite.
"Fenton-made Ghost Shield Generator, or GSG for short." The kid shrugged, quickly reaching into his fanny pack and pulling out a full box of takeout that shouldn't have been able to full in there, warm and ready, and held it out to the Flash. "Usually, I would charge extra for it, but you can have it on the house!"
Flash and the boy exchanged their goods, food for money that the boy swiftly counted through. Unconcerned that he's one a battlefield while Flash ate his food.
"I might order from you again, honestly." Flash said, and the boy gave him a smile. "Please do! It's not every day we get someone from the League as a customer! Oh right!" The boy dug around in his pocket for something, pulling out a glowing green sticky note and putting onto the Flash's forehead.
Who didn't take any offense to the action, only letting out a confused gesture towards it.
"Something about warning you about something in the future, I don't know really." The boy shrugged, adjusting his stance on his hoverboard and hitting a button with his foot. "All his sticky notes are really cryptic though, cause he's just like that."
The GSG dropped into the boy's hand, staring at it for a moment before throwing it over to the Flash. "Eh, you can keep that. I can just ask my parents for another one anyway." He sped off, giving the hero a wave as he cackled while dodging more attacks. "Keep up the great work!"
Then he disappeared into a green portal, which closed behind him as quickly as it opened.

Trollhunters Gem AU - What to do with Claire
.Finally facing off with this issue: I am torn on what to do with Claire. I know when I started this AU I said she would still be a human but now I just *flails in frustration* I kind of really want her to be a Gem too?
It’s just... How do I work this in? How do I tie it in with the whole NotEnrique thing? I can’t just cut him from the story. And if she still got the shadowstaff, would she choose to use that over her summoned weapon? And how, when, and why would she join up with the team?
And I hate to say it, but I can’t think of many benefits for making Claire a Gem? Sure it leaves more fusion possibilities (passing thought: the three of them fuse up to fight Gunmar) but other than that, I just can’t come up with a reason that she needs to be a Gem.
So there’s going to be a bit of a branch in the AU.
If I come up with a story idea for the AU where Claire is a Gem, I might write it as a standalone oneshot. Same goes if for someone sends an ask regarding Gem Claire, I’ll write and respond.
But for the main AU, Claire will be human.
- Claire first encounters Jim and Toby when they sneak into the school, and she is not completely fooled. She might not have noticed them if she hadn’t caught them staring at her hair in complete fascination multiple times. Evidently they’re completely mystified by her hair barrettes, not to mention the blue streak that most certainly didn’t happen naturally.
- She didn’t interact with them enough to form much of an opinion of them other than Jim seemed like a nice person (just not to Steve, but really, he had it coming) and Toby was his friend and willing to back him up without question. She does see them again walking around town, and they show up when the monster attacks become more frequent. They might interact a few times, depending on how close to the fighting Claire was.
- Don’t know how exactly Jim would find out Enrique’s been replaced with a changeling. I might just leave that one as he notice the goblins at the Nuñez household while he was flying over the town. However it happens, he has no idea how he’s going to explain to the human girl with strange hair that her brother isn’t her brother and her real brother was taken by goblins.
- So one night he attempts to catch NotEnrique and they end up wrecking part of the house. NotEnrique shifts back into baby form right as Claire comes in to investigate the noise. She takes in the sight of Jim, armor gone but his water wings are still extended, holding her wailing baby brother and standing in the center of the ruined room. Rather than getting mad at him, she sees the claw marks on the walls and assumes that it was another monster attack. She walks over and takes (Not)Enrique, thanking Jim for protecting her brother from the monster.
- She doesn’t notice the way Jim hesitates to hand him over, or the look he give the kid as she takes him. She does catch the edge to his voice when he comments that monsters don’t normally go out of their way to attack humans, was there something they needed to know about her brother? (Not)Enrique starts wailing again when Jim gets too close, and as Claire tries to calm him, Jim adds that he hadn’t really been friendly when dealing the ‘monster,’ so little Enrique might be afraid of him now.
- He offers to help Claire clean up the mess (so he can keep an eye on NotEnrique in case he tries something shifty) and when she accepts, he just turns on the faucet. Claire is confused at first, but then Jim uses his hydrokinesis to shape the water into a handful of contructs shaped like himself. The constructs clear away the mess and set things back in place quickly enough, but the gouges in the walls remain. She thanks him for his help, and he just grins slightly, telling her to “Stay safe” before dismissing the water clones and flying off.
- Of course when she does find out that NotEnrique is, well, not Enrique, she remembers that moment when Jim was being cryptic, and she’s just “YOU KNEW DIDN’T YOU YOU LIED YOU BLUE BASTARD.” Jim counters with “So a blue alien guy shows up and trashes your house then tells you your little brother’s a monster. You would believe him?” Claire is still kinda mad, but she get’s the point.
- Claire is essentially the Connie Maheswaren of the group, she comes in and starts training with them, intending to go save her brother. She’s also the groups source of human info. She’s the one to inform them that Strickler has returned and is now the school principal. The gems and trolls are outraged. They have no idea what a principal is.
- The gems and trolls get kind of protective of her on missions. They’re all incredibly durable, and she’s just a squishy human. She appreciates their concern, but she does get a little impatient when they keep getting between her and the fight. Alright, so she’s not made of stone or solid light, but she isn’t made of glass either. LET HER FIGHT.
- She studies both troll lore and gem lore, much to Blinky and Pearls delight. She prioritizes troll lore though, she needs to know all that she can for her end goal. She also asks to join Connie and Steven for sword practice. She does end up with the shadowstaff, which is very different from a sword, but her blade skills are not left to fade. Better have and not need than need and not have.
