📖Livre des Ombres🕯️ Grimoire et Livre des Ombres (alias Gros et Dodu) sont de loin mes outils favoris, ceux que je choisirais les yeux fermés si je ne devais en garder que deux dans tout l’attirail sorcier. Je suis fascinée par l’usage, l’histoire et le folklore autour de ces objets, qui sont parmi les plus intimes et les plus magiques entre tous. J’ai eu une véritable armada de Livres et de Grimoires avant de tomber finalement sur ceux qui m’accompagnent aujourd’hui, mais je ne regrette rien car chacun constitue une trace émouvante et formatrice de mon parcours. Avec l’arrivée de Mamour dans ma vie (si tu n’as pas suivi, Mamour est un sublime grimoire que m’a offert @ateliersentulia et qui s’ajoute à ma famille de Gros Pleins de Pages), je me suis replongée dans l’ouvrage de Jason Mankey sur le sujet, pour y trouver de l’inspiration et des idées. Plus je lis ce livre, plus je me dis que j’aurais adoré l’avoir quand j’étais ado. Il est bourré d’astuces, d’idées, de passages historiques, de références à des Livres qui ont marqué l’histoire des LdO, le tout sur un ton décomplexé, passionné et bienveillant. Moi qui avait peur de poser la plume dans les pages encore vierges de Mamour, je n’ai maintenant qu’une hâte, c’est de me lancer, et alea jacta es ! The first real "eh" album to hit #megadethmonday is their 1997 release, Cryptic Warnings. Everything about this album is playing it safe, and while it's not inherently a bad composition, it doesn't really add anything significant to the Megadeth canon. That said it's a well produced and mixed album, and shows the band knew exactly what they were doing; just not where they were going. Leaning away from their thrash roots does make it a lot more accessible, but at the cost of their core audience (and honestly feels like Mustaine followed Metallica's lead in softening the sound for mainstream appeal). Acceptable, but ultimately unimpressive. Highlight tracks include Trust, Almost Even, Sin, She-Wolf, and Vortex. Available on iTunes and Spotify.
