Deers in the Park

We are proud to have such lovely wildlife in our park, but it’s important to take precautions when interacting with these animals! Due to increased complaints of the deer population, we would like to outline some tips on interacting with the park’s deer.

Deer are very shy! If a deer walks directly up to you, this is not a deer. Proceed with caution.

If a deer has strangely human eyes, it is advised you avoid it. This is not a deer.

Deer standing on their hind legs is NOT normal behaviour. If you see this happening, leave the area of the “deer” immediately and alert a park ranger.

Deer are herbivores! If you encounter a deer eating from a carcass, it is once again advised to leave the area and alert a ranger.

Deer do NOT speak. If a deer is speaking to you, it is all in your head. Please alert a park ranger immediately.

But out of everything, please remember the most important rule of interacting with deer;

Just because it looks like a deer, does not mean it is a deer.
