Subnautica headcanon designs part 1. I might make another one with Jochi, Hollister and a couple others. I’m not entirely happy with it but I’m not getting it to look any better so might aswell post it!
Second image was the thumbnail, as you can see, I didn’t capture a lot of likenesses and also decided to scrap doing ryley, but the shading was kinda fun so I guess there’s that. Seems like this page is going to become a dedicated subnautica brainrot page now, I think my OC stuff should stay on insta.
I’m not very happy with how the proportions turned out, I’m sorry lol. But I guess it’s some progress from the usual. I originally wanted to give danby black hair too but I realised that that’s just kinda what I default to and there are already so many characters with dark hair so I changed it to a blonde tone. I also tried to create more variety in face shapes but I’m still relatively new to that so I’m sorry if everybody looks kinda same-y or proportionally off.
Danby and Avery were done on the first day, then I drew Ozzy, then drew Yu on another day with much demotivating wich is why she kinda looks different to the others, then drew Keen and overhauled Yu again.
The artstyle was inspired by the Subnautica character concept art of Ryley!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Headcanon time)
To be honest, I’d imagine most of them know each other (except for Avery ofcourse), I’d like to believe that Danby doesn’t usually talk to people unless it’s for his job, but is still generally known and liked by the others, he finds his job boring but believes it’d be stupid to stop after studying for so many years.
I think they’d all be around 25-60 in age, with danby maybe being the youngest with about 28-31 years of age, matching with ryley who I’d imagine is around the same age.
I think Yu would be very goal oriented, but also trying to find solutions with wich everyone involved would be happy, wich mean that she’d know a bit about everyone, wich is why she feels so attached to the crew and wanted to disobey orders to try and save them after the crash.
I think Keen would really thrive in his job, similar to Yu, but be a lot more reliant on orders, somebody who likes to follow them more than to give them. He puts much trust into his captain and any other sort of authority figure above him, whilst feeling maybe a little too responsible for those under his command.
I believe Ozzy would be a very talkative person, like Yu he knows everybody a little, and everybody knows him. Except for ryley, who at this point has become kind of an outsider for just how much he tries to fit in with everyone else. Most people feel indifferent towards him.
I don’t think avery would be fond of being the captain of a ship, I don’t think he’d mind that much but I think a lot of the legal stuff he has to handle because of it would probably be really frustrating in the long run. He enjoys to talk to people though, and tries to help people in need if alterra doesn’t prevent him from doing so.

i have severe subnautica brainrot and this being my brain, it latched onto all the characters that appear only in the form of voice logs and are all very, very dead.
i would apologise for my handwriting but this is nothing compared to my maths professor's.
my designs are (at least partly) inspired and my brainrot was furthered by: https://archiveofourown.org/works/18458162
go read it if you're interested in a fix it, it's pretty good and stuff
nothing can stop me from writing straight up essays under my artwork. LIKE LISTEN I HAVE THINGS TO SAY. what do u expect me to just chuck a picture in the room and then leave??

AU Summary: Deep Blue Sea
Deep Blue Sea is my Subnautica/JSE Egos crossover AU.
It follows the sole survivors of the Aurora crash, who must both find a way to cure the bacterium that ails them, and a way off the planet, all while surviving the dangerous ocean world.
Game novelization with a twist.
Chase takes the spot of the player character as the maintenance chief, crashing down in the safe shallows. He's unconsciously taken the role of a leader for the group of survivors, and his words have far more impact than he could have ever expected. Alongside Jackie, the two of them are the first to go scouting dangerous areas just to keep the others safe. He's also the only one who knows how to use the repair tool...
Jackie, a security guard aboard the ship, crashed down into the crag field, where he was forced to flee his damaged and flooding pod as it found itself under attack by bone sharks. While the planet does terrify him, he's the first to step in front of the others in the face of danger, and wields a broken flare as a spear that he's proven to be scary good at using.
Marvin was an entertainer, and managed to take the only other pod that would remain at the surface. Unfortunately for him, he landed in the crash zone and was subjected to reaper attacks, forcing him to flee for the safe shallows before he'd become a reaper's next meal. He's smart, and cautious, but his cautiousness can slow down the progress of the group--especially when it comes to going near the Aurora, as he's especially terrified of the reapers. He starts with self-preservation as his number one priority, but does come to care deeply for the rest of the group's well-being.
Henrik was the chief medical officer, and went down in the bulb zone. He's terrified to the point of paralyzing fear and panic attacks of the world around him, so is often forced to remain at the habitat with Jameson. He's a hack, having cheated his medical exams, but can at least patch up the group's minor injuries with some competence.
Jameson, the owner of the café, crashed into the grassy plateaus near an entrance to the purple caves; he had a lifepod partner, an engineer named O'Harris, who quickly met his end to a crab snake. Jameson drowned on his way to the surface, saved by Jackie and Henrik who were on their way to Chase's pod. Jameson ended up with broken ribs as a result of the CPR that saved him, forcing him to remain in the habitat unless using a vehicle. He keeps the group's spirits up even as all seems lost.
Second Officer Martyn Keen landed in the deep sparse reef and sent out a message to the surviving lifepods to head for the floating island's coordinates. He rendezvoused with CTO Yu on the way, but the two were quickly cut off from escape by an unknown person living on the island. Yu was killed by the figure and thrown into the ocean, while Keen was saved by the arrival of the other survivors--with Jackie distracting the stranger so Keen and Chase could run for the water. Keen has since begun realizing Chase is a natural leader, so while there's some headbutting to begin with, he surrenders it to Chase.
And then Anti... Antony Sepse was a microbiologist aboard the Degasi who's been isolated for nearly a decade thanks to enzyme-carrying peepers keeping him alive. His humanity is gone, and he sees only a threat to his life in the Aurora survivors. While he attempts to kill them whenever seeing them, his and Bart's studies that were left behind prove a boon to the group's survival.

Bitget proudly hosted its inaugural flagship event, EmpowerX Summit, in Singapore on September 12, 2023. The summit welcomed nearly 1900 esteemed guests, featuring more than 247 distinguished VIP speakers and partners who engaged in profound discussions on the transformative potential of crypto and the burgeoning web3 ecosystem. Tim Draper, renowned venture capitalist and cryptocurrency advocate, delivered a keynote address that reverberated through the crypto space.  I love what Bitget is doing - bringing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to the masses," Draper emphasized. It has to be done with good user experience, good user interfaces, and it's gonna be done in a way that brings so many people in. There's no incentive for banks to take them on because people can't afford to even open an account; it's too expensive. Opening a bank account is more expensive than getting Bitcoin." Haseeb Qureshi, Managing Partner of Dragonfly Capital, shared his insights in another captivating keynote. He highlighted the seismic growth in on-chain settlements with stablecoins, revealing, "In 2022, over $11 trillion stalecoins were settled on-chain. That means there's more money being sent through stablecoin chains than through Visa. He drew attention to the fact that 25 million addresses hold $1 across all wallets and chains, collectively comparable to the fifth-largest U.S. bank in terms of users.  This staggering figure signifies the vast number of individuals engaged with stablecoins today, underlining the rapid expansion of the crypto market. EmpowerX Summit marked a pivotal moment in Bitget's journey towards crypto empowerment. The event commenced with an inspiring speech by Bitget's Managing Director, Gracy Chen. She articulated Bitget's mission to empower global users to trade crypto and assist companies in realizing their vision of decentralized real-use case products. A riveting panel discussion ensued, featuring industry luminaries such as Justin Sun, Founder of TRON DAO; Yu Hu, CEO of Kaito ai; Alexander Pack, Managing Partner of Hack VC; David Tse, Professor at Stanford University and recipient of the Shannon Award. The panelists delved deep into topics encompassing AI, Blockchain, and the future of the internet. EmpowerX Summit spanned the entire day, comprising six insightful panel discussions. Visionaries and co-founders in the blockchain realm, including Mihailo Bjelic, Co-Founder of Polygon; Adeniyi Abiodun, Co-Founder of Mysten Labs; Bryan Pellegrino, Co-founder of LayerZero; Alexandre Dreyfus, Founder of Chiliz; Sander Gortjes, Co-founder & CEO, HELLO Labs; Michael Gronager, Co-founder Chainalysis; Sebastien Borget, Co-founder of Sandbox, graced the stage with their expertise. Venture capitalists of eminence, including Dragonfly Capital; Carl Hua, Investment Partner and CTO of Shima Capital; and Tony Cheung, Partner of Foresight Ventures, were among the distinguished attendees. Bitget's transformation from a derivative crypto exchange to a comprehensive ecosystem was evident. The company's strategic investment of $30 million in the decentralized BitKeep multi-chain wallet (rebranded as Bitget Wallet) earlier this year marked a significant milestone. This move solidified Bitget's position as a comprehensive decentralized space ecosystem. The announcement of the $100 million EmpowerX Fund during the event signifies Bitget's unwavering commitment to fostering ecosystem development. The fund will primarily support the growth of regional exchanges, data analytics firms, and media organizations. This initiative aligns with Bitget's core philosophy of "Trade smarter," emphasizing user empowerment through intuitive tools, security, and user-friendliness. One of the standout moments at the EmpowerX Summit was the thrilling Web3 pitching session, presented in partnership with HELLO Labs. During the summit, attendees had a unique opportunity to witness a sneak peek of the "Killer Whales" reality show on-site. Four participating
projects presented their ideas in front of a high-profile panel of judges from the show. In the end, Lava was selected as the winner. Lava is an open standard for blockchain RPC and APIs, aiming to simplify the development of web3 applications using blockchain data, all while ensuring data freshness and high uptime. Bitget's rebranding campaign, revolving around "Trade smarter," solidifies its position as a leader in innovative trading products. This philosophy was presented during the event. Comprising the Smart Money Awards and Hero Trader Awards, the Bitget Smart Awards ceremony honored excellence across two segments. Leveraging the proven capabilities of 0xScope, a respected leader in blockchain analytics, the Smart Awards illuminated standout investment behavior and trading strategies. The company's multifaceted ecosystem expansion demonstrates its unwavering dedication to facilitating smarter trading, empowering individuals, and building a more secure, user-friendly, and efficient financial future for all.    Source

could i get a short timeline summary with the new moon tarot for a 2nd officer keen from subnautica kin? i don't remember much from my timeline (hence the point of the question), but if you don't remember, in the game cto yu and i were the crew members that were supposed to rendevous with the player at the island
assuming you mean my neon moon deck, ofc! (i have a lot of decks dw as long as i can somewhat understand which one u mean u don’t have to 100% get the name right /gen)
also can i just say, subnautica kin ?!?!?!? my beloved ?!?!?!? this game comes in and out of fixation status every so often for me and it just makes me rly happy so um. here goes! reading under the cut for you!
earlier in the timeline: ten of arms inverted
you were likely born into a situation of worry, that got better seemingly because you were there. i’m not entirely sure how to interpret this card other than saying that, i don’t know what that situation might’ve been. but it was very early on.
midway through the timeline: ten of zent
you went on to do great things, i feel like that’s still pretty early on in the midway point. perhaps you were advanced compared to your peers, or maybe you were just the best suited toward leadership- either way, you were probably the one more in charge of the rendezvous, among other things throughout your life.
toward the end of the timeline: seven of zent inverted
something happened? unsure of what, maybe your funding was cut short, maybe disaster struck- could this have had something to do with the events on 4546B? all i know is that your finances were likely running dry at this point, and the things you were doing were starting to lack rewards.
problem solving: eight of wires inverted
you were a very patient person. you didn’t care what stopped you in your tracks, you would wait it out and you wouldn’t let it get in your way more than it had to, whatever the issue was.
the problems themselves: the hanged man inverted
your problems may have involved indecisiveness, so perhaps you were the type to let decisions make themselves. when others may have panicked, you simply asked for more time, or handed the job over if you couldn’t make the decision quickly enough. you wanted to do it right, simply put, and you didn’t want your choice to be the cause of any failure.
the end: the ace of wires
this is a really interesting card to pull for the end. aces tend to be new ventures, and the ace of wires is no exception- specifically, this card is about new beginnings and creation. perhaps when it was time for you to depart, something began? something greater, that you somehow caused? that’s the only thing i think it could be.
extra note: i just wanted to say again how cool it is to see a subnautica kin in my inbox, also how interesting it was again to pull an ace for the end. certainly while that was your end, it was nowhere near the end of that universe- in fact, it may have only been the beginning.
hopefully that sounds accurate, but don’t forget, divination is a guidepost and if some bits don’t resonate then you can leave them! take what vibes, and i hope the memories start coming to you a bit clearer!
thank you for requesting!

ok but fr. one of my favorite pieces of subnautica lore is that one pda entry in the storage room across the cafeteria. its literally just a menu. but at the very bottom it says that all the actual desserts were thrown into space because of "an incorrect use of a repulsion canon". and obviously im taking this as implying it was berkeley and yu, because yu was messing with robot programs and berkeley had already been given a repulsion cannon instead of a propulsion canon in a different pda, and yu directly tells him that it could put a hole through the space ship.
its SUCH a small and overlooked thing but its very dear to my heart,,

Keen: While I’m gone, Yu, you’re in charge.
Yu: Yes!
Keen, whispering to Berkeley: You’re secretly in charge.
Berkeley: Obviously.

any subnautica character headcanons? especially the side characters, they're my faves :]
Sorry anon im normally better at answering my asks :P but alas exams had two write two in a week :)) not fun but anyway! thank u sm for the ask <3
Hhh I have sooo many character hc i could write a novel anon alvnqjcoqofpqf (partly because i do have a wip all about the subnautica characters and the journey to 4546B + ensuing canon divergence but pssshhhh)
So I think I'm just gonna choose the characters I've thought the most about:
2ND OFFICER KEEN
I hc his name as Roman Keen - I saw it in the fic "Survivors" on Ao3 and honestly I think it's a really good fit :3
He's 28 and has been working for Alterra since he was 17, most of which has been with Captain Hollister, who has become somewhat of a parental figure for him. He joined because of a love for flying and space, which his family disapproved of, and so he doesn't get along great with them.
I hc him as genderfluid - on some days, he feels like a man, and on others, he feels like he had no gender at all. He hasn't got himself totally figured out and mostly uses he/him pronouns, being unsure about how he feels being adressed with other pronouns.
He's a gay disaster and crushes pretty easily and hiding that does not come easily to him, although he mostly manages. When he first sees Jochi Khasar, it's instant aesthetic attraction. He finds him fascinating, and Khasar seems to find him fascinating, too, since he starts flirting with him and they develop a relationship over the eighteen-ish month journey to 4546B.
He's ace, and although fine with talking about sex, isn't interested in having sex himself.
Even though he comes across as stiff, he's not actually all that stiff as a person. He is just very responsible and aware and is thus anxious to fulfil his responsibilities as 2nd Officer to the best of his abilities. For things unrelated to work, he is still responsible and mature but not a stick in the mud. He's a fan of adrenaline rushes and actually used to do illegal racing as a teen.
Keen works well under stress, but as soon as the stress abates enough, he will have a breakdown.
He has an annoying-sibling type relationship with CTO Yu >:33
CTO YU
I also liked the name "Emily Yu" from the same fic as before, and I hc that her Chinese name is "Yu Jian" with 'Jian' for strong, healthy.
She is 29, a year older than Keen, which she teases him with, and has been working on the Aurora for 4 years, since finishing her master in engineering with a focus on spacecraft engineering. She worked herself up the ladder by virtue of 1) having a master's degree 2) hard work and successful projects 3) spite (someone (rightfully) insulted one of her ideas once) and 4) a little bit of nepotism.
I hc her as a cis bi woman who uses she/her pronouns. She enjoys both more feminine and more masculine styles for herself, although her style is rather tame and doesn't become hyper-feminine or hyper-masculine. She doesn't like dresses.
She's into Berkely, with her first being sexually attracted to him and then also experiencing romantic attraction. She enjoys his sarcasm and teasing him.
Even though she likes to be silly she gets serious in serious situations. She has a tendency to think that her way is best and has worked over the years to curb that down and be more open to other people's thoughts. When she does truly firmly think that her way is better though, she will stick to that unless presented with a better option and will put everything into trying to make that work.
In very stressful situations she tends to... sort of zoom out, distancing herself from her emotions and achieving a strong focus to do what needs to be done. Afterwards, she struggles with feeling the impact of what was going on, sort of feeling like it happened to someone else. It's a mild sort of depersonalisation. She works well under stress in general but needs some time to recuperate and destress. If she doesn't, her body will respond to the stress via tense and pulled muscles, headaches, stress-rashes etc.
BERKELEY
I don't have a particular reason why but I hc his first name as 'Cedric'. Honestly not too sure on that, if I find one that clicks more for me I might pivot to using that but this is what I've got for now!
He's 27 and he is not a routine member of the Aurora staff. Instead, he is part of the extra engineers meant to oversee construction of the phasegate at 4546B and hadn't met anyone from the Aurora before. He has a Bachelor in engineering but found studying so unpleasant he decided he was not going to go for a master and instead started and apprenticeship into job on a spacestation relating to phasegate maintenance.
He is intersex, which wasn't noticeable until puberty when he started developing boobs. Because he identifies as a man (he uses he/xey pronouns), he decided to opt for puberty blockers and later hormone therapy. He would have been fine with his boobs but society made him feel really shitty about them and he got top surgery.
He works out very regularly because it makes him feel good and enjoys jewelry and make-up, although he hates bracelets that move because he hates the sensation of them moving and bumping along his forearms whenever he has to tinker with something. He is somewhat introverted, not caring all that much for social interaction, and indulges in sarcasm a lot. He doesn't like the feel of long hair so he always wears it in a buzzcut. He's also chubby and built like a (short) bear.
He actually doesn't cope with stress well at all and only made it through school and a Bachelor's degree by luck, a lot of caffeine and the knowledge that if he doesn't manage at least a Bachelor's, finding a decent-paying job he likes will be very hard in Alterra-space. He finds it preferable to listen to others although not uncritically.
At first Emily annoys him to no end but as he gets to know her better (and she also tones it down) the annoyance changes to fondness. They become good friends and he eventually falls in love with her. He is pan and demi-romantic.

Attempted to draw Al-An, went through a bunch of versions, gave up. Went back to it, & gave up on the arms, head, and the technological look.
This is what I got. ...... Thoughts?
Tumblr media
I feel like the “human” portion is too big and that the tail is weird?
Addition, this is what Al-An looks like for some comparison.
