Finrod: I used to make out with Maglor after concerts, I can’t court my ex’s brother, that’s practically incest, it would feel wrong!
Celegorm *watching with popcorn because he and Curufin are codependent as fuck*: It’s literal incest! You two are first cousins! We are already way past the threshold of worrying about that!

some sketches for an old au of mine, where Maeglin survives Gondolin and flees from Morgoth’s forces hunting him. He has a run in with the Feanorians in one of the elven cities and is recognized as an Angband thrall/spy. To save his own life, he bargains with his ability to recreate Angrist and to share what plans of Morgoth’s he’d been privy to.
Vibes partly inspired by this track from Rurouni Kenshin

Lovers that leave.
Or how the Curufinwës’ destroy their relationships with their self-worth issues.
I was thinking about the concept of while Curufin tries to be Fëanor he is more like Nerdanel and it led me here. Nerdanel and Curufin being the ones that saw beyond the surface of Fëanor and Finrod, two restless spirits that can’t not leave to follow their beliefs.
But the one thing Curufin can’t escape being like his dad is the fear of never being enough and how it leads to their own destruction.

you’ve heard of curufin speaking against nargothrond out of selfish desire for the silmaril. now get ready for my extremely self indulgent curufinrod take:
what if Curufin spoke against Nargothrond because he wants to keep Finrod alive?
it’s been established that c+c got along with Finrod, and they showed friendship in every need prior to the coming of Beren. in the lay of leithian, it’s even stated that c+c saved Orodreth’s life by covering for his retreat. so we know that they were at least on good terms.
and then Beren shows up!
you know the next part; Celegorm spews out the oath and how they’ll murder anyone who keeps a silmaril. but what i find really inteiguing is that even though Curufin is painted as zealously devoted to Feanor, he actually doesn’t use the oath to scare the people of Nargothrond. instead, he tells about the horrors of going to war with Morgoth and it works so well that Nargothrond refuses to go to open war until Turin comes around to screw things up.
and it makes sense, he’s seen first handedly what fighting against Morgoth brings. he saw Feanor die to Morgoth’s forces. but he specifically was not the one to being up the oath.
which makes my filthy little brain think maybe this isn’t entirely about the oath, but that Curufin genuinely doesn’t want Finrod to run off on some suicide quest for some random human he doesn’t even know. maybe he knows he can’t sway Finrod, but he cans way his people, and maybe without the people’s backing, Finrod will tell Beren to get lost. then everything can stay exactly the way it was and they can keep partying in Nargothrond forever, and Finrod won’t die needlessly! Yay!
obviously it doesn’t work out so well. but then it adds yet another spin on Curufin’s character outside of “he’s just plain evil and selfish”, because if you look at Nargothrond in this light, Curufin now has to deal with the guilt of failing to save Finrod, but also the doubt that maybe if Finrod did have the support of his people, he might’ve survived. he knows he fucked up here, but he instead blames Beren for killing Finrod. that, and I like to interpret Curufin as someone with a lot of internalized guilt in general— he tends to think everything is his fault, but then doesn’t actually try to absolve his wrongs because he would rather throw a pity party for himself, or just blame it on someone else to avoid introspection. so here, he chooses to blame Beren instead of really grappling with the fact that “wow i just killed Finrod”.
(and if you want to go all out curufinrod with this you could even interpret his second attempt of kidnapping Luthien as getting back at Beren because “if i can’t have the light of my life, then neither can this smelly human who tried to steal my dad’s greatest creation AND ALSO led Finrod to his death!!!!” but you didn’t hear that from me)

I would kill for a sitcom of Finrod, Celegorm and Curufin's daily lives in Nargothrond. Like how did this even happen? Why didn't C&C move in with any of their brothers instead? What did their daily lives together look like? Why did Finrod let them live with him? Are they close? Do they hate each other? What's it like at the dinner table?

Hamilton songs as the Silmarillion prt 1
Who lives, Who dies, Who tells your story: Elrond Peredhel. Thinking mainly about all the kids he fosters in Elros’ line. But also the idea of him preserving the histories and memory of the Feanorians alongside the rest of his family.
Quiet Uptown: Either kidnap fam, with everyone’s assorted trauma (I think maybe Mae and Mags thinking about their brothers) or Feanor and Nerdanel reuniting after everything
Say no to this: Silvergifting. Celebrimbor and Annatar. Need I say more?
Burn: Nerdanel obviously. I’ve heard that take before and honestly it seems written for her. But I’m also going to add the possibility of Curufinrod. Some parts more than others I feel would also fit either point of view for that one. I lean a little more towards Curvo though. Maybe some kind of jealousy towards Beor and Barahir?
Non stop: Maedhros after Angband. All the diplomacy over letters, probably from his sick bed. The song just describes him so well. Also Elros.
Helpless: Luthien and Beren fits very well. But also Halenthir if we’re getting creative. Especially the bits about meddling siblings.
Satisfied: Russingon. If we’re going with Fingon having a wife. Forbidden love. It just makes me emotional. From Maedhros point of view.
Room where it happens: Nargothrond. Mainly Curufin and Celegorm and Orodreth. Feat Finrod and Beren.
Alexander Hamilton: Feanor. Just Feanor.
Schuyler Sisters: The three Cs. Just imagine it. Also Idril, Aredhel and Galadriel works. But seriously Celegorm, Caranthir - and Curufin. It would be incredible.
Farmer Refuted: Feanor harassing Eonwe while being backed up by Celegorm and Curufin. So funny.
You’ll be back: Thingol talking to literally anyone. He just has that entitled vibe. Also maybe Sauron to Maedhros.
Right Hand Man: Elrond and Gil Galad when they meet during the War of Wrath.

Curufin took pride in the fact that all the elves which thought to bask under Finrod’s laughter and light would never see what he was truly like. Only the closest family and friends were allowed to glimpse beneath the mask of kindness and nobility Finrod had always worn.
It had been two days before the end of Tirion’s celebration of Finrod that he’d found his cousin sitting on ground by an abandoned alley, near a ditch. Finrod’s festive clothing were rumpled and soiled by vomit beyond any hope of salvation, and there were no flowers in his hair now, and his golden locks were tousled and tangled.
Finrod looked as if he had been mauled and dragged out of a tavern, and robbed.
Curufin walked toward him, made sure he was still alive, and then tried to lift him up, and walk him home.
They staggered together down the abandoned street, Telperion shining silver around the world, and Finrod chuckled.
“Not the very best in Aman now, right?” He slurred at Curufin as he chuckled brokenly.
“No, certainly not,” Curufin wrinkled his nose. They paused and he sought to wrap an arm closer around his cousin’s waist. Finrod was the taller elf (Curufin barely reached his eyes), yet Curufin was the stronger one, made tough from all of his work in the forge and the unending busy lifestyle of a Fëanorian. “You smell like vomit, your hair is rumpled, and you are most certainly the Ugliest Elf in Aman.”
Finrod giggled like no tomorrow. “Yes. Yes. Call me Ugly, for that is what I am, and only so very few understand that and see it.”
“Then you shall be Ugly henceforth.”

The heir of the Noldor ft Fëanor lives AU.
Fëanor : Hello my children!
Amras : Atya, it is so early.
Caranthir : Atar, you cannot summon us this way.
Celegorm : It's not fair. I will not stand for it.
Curufin : Really, we have lives. We have business to attend to.
Fëanor : By businnes do you mean provoking political discussions and getting into trouble that I should ignore?
Maedhros : My word, there are impressionable young gentlemen present.
Fëanor : Impressionable? Trust me, Maitamo, no sexual innuendo makes an impression upon you brothers. I wish it did, that they might get ideas to marry and start fornicating.
Amrod : Atar!
Fëanor : Perhaps, then, I might have grandbabies. Instead; virgins to the left of me, lustful to the right.
Maglor : I believe I am a married elf.
Fëanor : Yes, and where are you babies? You have made zero heirs to the Throne.
Maglor : I am trying!
Fëanor : Are you? Really? Dearest, I explained everything to you? I drew pictures? You are doing it correctly? Make sure you are putting it in the right place?
Maglor : Atar!
Fëanor : The only heir to the throne abdicated and abandoned us!
Curufin : — Sounds of crying —
Fëanor : …
Fëanor : Sorrows, Sorrows, Prayers. — gives him small blows on his back —
Fëanor : I'am stating facts! The princes have had no babies.
Fëanor : We had one heir, one royal and he is gone!
Curufin : — Sobbing —
Fëanor : Sorrows! Prayers!
Fëanor : Children, this is a crisis. I’ve heard from King Thingol on the topic. Worse, Ñolofinwë is talking about it, wich means everyone will be talking about it.
Celegorm : Atar, I think you are being a bit zealous.
Fëanor : No!
Fëanor : It's time to find for respectable husbands, it's time to find for admirable wives. Get started. One of you had better produce to next ruler of The Noldor or your grandfather’s line dies with him.
Fëanor : Make me a royal baby.
Maedhros : Atar, you can't really expects us t-
Amras : I'm still a babe Atya, you can't expect me to have one?!
Caranthir : This is utterly ridiculous. My husband has abandoned me. How will I produce an heir without him?
Amrod : He did not abandon you Moryo, he is dead.
Caranthir : It's the same.
Celegorm : We must get tyelpe back as soon as possible!
Curufin : You will not disturb my baby's peace! In addition, Findaráto won me custody in court.
Maglor : There's no need for that, Daeron and I will make it, eventually.
Fëanor : It is not a difficult task. Your Ammë and I made seven royal babies all by ourselves. I do not see why the would lot of you cannot make just one.
— The noise of arguments and disagreements can be heard in the background. —

I detested every minute of drawing that horse, I will do it again!
Anyway, I hoped I would get this out before the end of the year, alas it became the first artwork of the year instead. It's the comic I mentioned in my wips notes, and yeah, I know it doesn't make much sense for Fëanor to not recognize Miriel but I needed it for the plot, okay 😭
Plot explanation + Nerdanel bonus under the cut:
Very well, I had this idea stuck in my head for a while due to my dissatisfaction with many post reembodiment fëanorian fic (don't get me wrong, I enjoy the heck out of those fics, they just happen to not fully scratch the itch) and how it's either the fëanorian basically throwing themselves to the ground to apologize to those they hurt, something I don't really see happening, apologizing requires a lot of vulnerability, it's something very raw that I just can't see the fëanorians being able to do right off the halls (and I'm not giving the Valar any credit *harunf*) or, it goes the opposite direction, and none of the fëanorians apologize at all and it's just accepted with at most some control from the Valar, I just can't accept this while also assume they just went back to their regular places in Tirion no problem besides some people being mildly mad at them.
So this was my concoction, the first two stories wouldn't be about Fëanor at all actually, it would be an Aretyel and a Curufinrod stories running concurrently:
The first one is about Aredhel not initially wanting to ever see Celegorm after he used her as a motivation to hurt Luthien, but after Maeglin reembodiement she thinks that if she can take her son back maybe she should give her former friend a chance.
The second is initially basically Curufinrod through the ages as Finrod decides to talk to Curufin despite his better reason saying otherwise, Curufin is at first very scathing and refuses any talk at all but after a difficult conversation with Ëarwen (which is mostly her calling him a bitch) Curufin decides to reevaluate his past with Finrod, eventually reaching Celebrimbor (who is a curufinrodion in this) and their complicated relationship
And then finally, the Fëanor one, it begins some time after the others already began but runs with them as well, the beginning is basically this comic, Fëanor arrives and finds no one besides the woman he doesn't know is Miriel and accepts staying with her rather than trying to talk with his brothers, the truth is that Vairë sent the wrong hour to Arafinwë so that Miriel would get time with her son (Miriel doesn't know this, she also thinks they just left Fëanor alone) (Vairë also thought that at most she would mildly inconvenience a perfectly well paid envoy that at most would get a disappointed look from the king, never imagining that Nerdanel would show up as well)
(Considering having shorted parts for Maglor, who already had his therapy sessions in Rivendell, meeting Maedhros and Elwing again, and another for Caranthir finding out that he and Haleth had a child, Erestor, and not knowing how to go about it)
