FIVE HARGREEVES MASTERLIST !
A/N: ANOTHER WEDDING SCENE FIC SURPRISE SURPRISE. SOMETHING FOR 200 FOLLOWERS! THANK YOU, EVERYONE !
Being Five's work partner wasn't easy, being around him was never easy for you. Your relationship with Five was complicated, to say the least. He's led you on for so many years you've worked with him. Perhaps you've been obvious with your feelings, causing you to be in this position with Five.
One day, Five offered you to join him to go back in the time where his sibling's timeline was, to save them from an apocalypse. An offer you've been grateful to accept, up to now. These people around you, are the very people you've grown to love, to be annoyed at, to save them from any kind of apocalypse. These people are what you call your family.
You've attached yourself to the Hargreeves and you think you might never detach from them. They were different people, with different interests, with different characteristics, with different attitudes yet they all click in the best way possible. Sure, they fight, they annoy each other, they despise each other but they're all bonded by love. No matter how hard they denied it themselves, especially Five.
Five wouldn't save these people if he didn't love them. He wouldn't have offered you to come if he didn't have some sort of attachment toward you. Whether it be a deep platonic feeling or a romantic one.
Life in The Temps Commission was bland, repetitive, and gory. Until you came along. You brought something out in him, a spark, a flame that wouldn't go out no matter how hard he tried. The time the Handler told him that you'd be working alongside Five, he was ecstatic.
For months, he tried to deny his feelings toward you. He tried to stop himself from smiling every time you pop up into his mind, overpowering his thoughts about work. He tried to stop himself from making advances toward you. Until he finally let himself. He put up a flirty persona, to mask his true feelings.
Years passed by, consisting of limitless flirting and teasing. One side flirting, that is. Every time he did toy with you, you'd be shy and be at a loss for words. His sweet talking won you over, letting him take control over you.
“Lila?” Diego called out. You had nothing better to do, being retired, along with Five. You were standing still with the supposed child of Diego, and can't help but wonder, why was he white if his parents are both people of color? Stan was his name, he introduced himself to you earlier back, you've taken a liking to him and his distinctive hyper fixation for explosives.
“You need to take this kid with you.” What a bad father.
Mid-sentence, Five came out of the bath, two briefcases in hand, looking as if he ran a marathon with sweat on his face. Your eyes glanced to Lila who stood only in a towel, barely covering her body, then back to Five.
“The hell were you doing in there?” Diego asks him.
“Bathing.” Lila answered for Five, who looked like he wasn't going to answer anyway.
“Together?” It was now then Five noticed you, a smirk on his face from your jealous tone.
“Oh, okay.” He sighed in defeat. “Y/n, we don't have time for this. Lila and I have more important shit to do.” A smirk was still not wiped from his face. From your posture, your slight arched brow, and your foot tapping the floor anxiously, he knew you were jealous. He's seen you in this state before, the time he first opened up to you and told you about Dolores.
You followed his footsteps, you could hear Lila greeting her, again, very white son. Five halted his walking suddenly, knowing that you were following him from hearing your very loud angry stomping. He turned to look at you, a slight scowl on your face.
“Yes? May I help you?” His velvety voice making you more annoyed than before.
“Am I not coming along?” Lila and Diego passing by the both of you, making their way toward the elevator. Them having a small banter about their relationship.
“Sorry, Y/n. It's me and Lila for now.” Turning his heel back to where it originally was and made his way toward Lila who was already in the elevator, waiting for him. Leaving you with a slightly cracked heart.
It was never anyone and him, it was always him and you.
You were now aimlessly roaming around the sketchy hotel, bored out of your mind. You've tried all the possible ways to pass time, even joining Luther with a game of pool, but that bore you even more. Not that Luther was a genuine boring person, he was fun in his ways but in every game you've played with him, you won.
The pair of legs that you own mindlessly moved around, not knowing what direction or what floor. All you were looking for is something to do at the beginning of retirement. All your years working at The Temps Commission, you've dreamed of being retired with Five. You were retired with Five, just not how you've pictured it to be.
The voices of two people in a distance didn't stop you from still going in that direction, the direction you originally were meant to go to. Your eyes scanned the wallpaper, seeing the leaves in their delicate shapes and different shades of green.
Your head then turned in front of you, Five by the door of the utility room, Lila standing directly in front of him. You first caught Five's attention, due to his high senses from being an assassin. Then came along Lila who looked where Five was captivated, a smirk on his face, both of his hands in the pocket of his trousers as he slightly leaned back.
“Oh, hey, Y/n!” A wide grin on her face. You couldn't help but return one, yours wasn't as wide as hers.
Suddenly, Five brought an arm around Lila's waist, pulling her into the utility closet, closing the door behind him in the process. Leaving you once again, a much bigger crack than before and your tears wanting to free themselves.
“You too, Y/n/n?” A concerned yet angry look on Luther's face. Your head tilted to the side, in a confused manner.
“What?” You finally asked, irritated at the silence. Luther then pointed at the bruise forming on your forehead, a bruise that formed when you clumsily fell face first on your way up the stairs.
“Oh!” Cracking a smile. “I fell on the stairs.”
No one was able to reply when a loud explosion-like sound interrupted all of you, catching a glimpse of the color blue before it faded away.
In a blink of an eye, Lila and Five are on top of each other, panting as if they were running for miles on end. Your heart fully cracked at the sight. Who knows what they were doing before they got here. He was quick to push himself off Lila, scanning his surroundings before standing next to you.
The sight of your bruised forehead concerned him, both of his hands instinctively going up to your face, guiding your face side to side as he looked for any more signs of you getting hurt. He whispered a soft, “are you okay?” Worry and concern were the only expressions you could see on his face.
Before you could ask where we could've been, you were both interrupted by Allison's booming voice.
“You had the briefcase? We've been looking for this!” Desperation laced in her voice. You could understand how distressed she was, she was in another timeline, another timeline where her child didn't exist.
His hands going back into his pockets, you frown at the loss of contact. “Well, look no further. That's the last one on Earth.” Allison checked every crevice to see if there was still a chance to make it of use. “Or was the last one.”
“Just, please, finish already.” You pleaded to Sloane who was currently doing your make-up. Over the short time, you've gotten to know Sloane, having much like a sisterly bond despite the end of the world thing. It was on the day of her wedding, a wedding in the middle of an impending ending of the world.
Your back was turned to the mirror, an action Sloane did, she claimed that the reveal would have a much better effect if you didn't see yourself yet. It was your first time wearing make-up, Sloane taught you all about it. On the inside, you were unexpectedly giddy at the thought of dressing up and making yourself feel better. On the outside, you were showing a facade to Sloane.
You only agreed to dress up so that Sloane could have fun, with her puppy eyes, you couldn't say no. She had also picked the dress you were wearing, you would lie if you said you didn't look good in it. You were stuck using the spare Umbrella Academy uniforms when you first arrived in 2019.
She was already done getting ready hours before, being excited and all. You had a blast with her. Ranting about how stupid Five is and men in general as she did her make-up. It was nice having a person who didn't judge you for whatever reason there may be.
“Alright!” Sloane exclaimed, snapping you out of your thoughts. “I'm done!” Clapping her hands in satisfaction. Clearly impressed with her work on your face.
She used her powers to lift your chair, slowly turning it around toward the mirror. She had instructed you to close your eyes before being face to face with the mirror to edge you even more in anticipation. Sloane gently put you down, as she tapped your shoulder, signaling to open your eyes.
Finally opening your eyes, you stare at yourself in shock. Genuinely impressed by Sloane's work on your face. She really was made of magic.
“Wow...” You trailed off, eyes meeting Sloane's eyes in the mirror, a wide smile on her face. “Sloane...” You trailed off once more. Still in awe. “You are amazing!” You finally squealed before engulfing her in a bone-crushing hug to which she replied with a loud laugh.
“My day!” Is what you could barely hear from the elevator doors opening with a ding, revealing your figure in the middle of it. The butterflies in your stomach going crazy from thinking about how Five would react to your unfamiliar yet all the while familiar appearance.
Not looking up, stepping out of the elevator, mentally preparing yourself to be ready for their reactions.
Finally looking up, seeing Five's mouth slightly agape, much like the other's reactions. A dramatic gasp was heard from Klaus as he stood by your side, admiring you from up and down, linking his arm with yours. “Who knew you had it in you to dress up?” Squeezing your arm in the process.
Compared to your nerves from earlier, it was definitely better now. Your eyes still not meeting Five's.
Your eyes panned over to Luther's. “Sloane is almost ready. She's just late for the dramatic entrance.” Rolling your eyes playfully as Lila moved from beside Diego to beside you.
“Looking quite pretty, are we?” An amused grin on her face as she scanned you. A sheepish smile on your face, you could feel your face heating up from the attention you had. Mostly from the attention Five gave you.
Five was still starstruck ever since you left the elevator doors, he watched you interact with his siblings. He couldn't count how many times he would try and occupy himself with anything but his eyes would still be on yours as you tried your best to not meet his.
Even when Klaus was officiating the wedding and the gorgeous bride was in front of them. He couldn't keep his eyes from admiring you as the maid of honor.
“Shall we?” A voice interrupting Five's thoughts. A voice he knew too well. He looked over to you, a hand offering him, the slow, romantic instrumental playing in the background. Sloane had practically pushed you toward Five's table, ushering you to 'have the time of your life' in her words.
He softly smiled, taking your hand, and letting you pull his body up. “We shall.”
His rough, callused hands instinctively snake their way to your waist, a perfect fit. A smile on both of your faces. You swore you could hear Sloane's squeal from somewhere in the hall. You could feel a few pairs of eyes boring into the back of your head, seeing as you two were the only ones slow dancing.
“You look pretty, darling.” Five smirking at your reaction; head turned away to not get a glimpse of how shy you were at his words.
Turning your head back, looking into his eyes. “Thank you, Five.” Pressing a faint kiss on the corner of his mouth, teasing him.
By now, it was his turn to be flustered. A faint blush tinted his cheeks, as he turned his head to the side, earning a laugh from you.
“The Five Hargreeves? Blushing?” Teasing him once more, emphasizing the word 'the' both of your bodies still swaying to the music.
“Oh, shut up.” Turning his head back to face you. “As if you weren't jealous of Lila.” A mischievous smirk replaced his shy smile.
Your smile faltered. At your expression, Five was worried immediately, knowing he had hit a nerve. He stopped both of your bodies from swaying, his hands going up to your face once more. You subconsciously lean more into his palms.
“What's wrong?” His eyes were full of concern.
“Can you take us somewhere quieter?” In your words, he immediately obeyed, not wanting to upset you even more.
He blinked you to the hall, a floor above the wedding venue. Not once did his hands leave your face, caressing your cheeks in an attempt to soothe you.
“I can't keep doing this, Five.” You paused for a moment, letting Five be with his thoughts. “I can't keep ignoring how you blatantly flirt with me and then lead me on.” Pulling your face from his hands, stepping back from Five.
“What do you mean?”
“You know what I mean, Five.” A tear slipping from your eye, Five stepping forward, attempting to go near you.
“You make me feel like there's actually a chance of us being together, you make me feel like there's actually something there, and then you ruin it all.” Your mascara running down your face from the tears uncontrollably pouring down. Your back hit the wall, sliding yourself down in the process, sitting down on the dirty carpeted hotel floor.
He followed your actions, sitting down beside you. Your head laying on his shoulder from support, him not caring whether you'd stain his jacket wet with your tears or not.
A few moments of silence passed, and he thought for a good second about what he had to say. All thrown out the window as he decided to keep it short.
“There's something there.” You raised your head in confusion at his words, your tears now dry, sitting on your face uncomfortably, the mascara-mixed tears. His breath hitched at the close proximity your faces had. Him still thinking about how perfect you looked even with your mascara-smeared face. “I only did that because I love you.”
His nose almost touching yours, “I've never felt this way towards anyone, Y/n.” He paused.
“Not even Dolores.” Your posture straightened up at the mention of her name. Pulling back from the closeness your faces had.
“Not even Dolores?” You asked once more. “Not even Dolores.” He clarified once more.
You laugh at the fact that you were once jealous of a mannequin. The sound of your laughter made him break out in a smile. He stood up from the dirty carpet, extending his hand out for you to take.
Gladly taking his hand, your hands made their way to the back of his neck while his on your waist, much like the position you both were in earlier. Only much closer. His lips brushed against yours, intoxicated by the warmth of them.
“Can I kiss you?” He whispered softly. Your heart fluttered at him asking for consent, just to kiss you.
“You can.”
A smile on your face as he planted a kiss on your lips.
