There's a post going around Tumblr about how if you're post-menopausal and have bleeding, you should get it checked by your doctor. I brought some minor bleeding I'd had up in a doctor visit earlier this year, prompted by that post, and this week, after a biopsy, I found out I have cancer. It's early stage and the survival odds at 5 years are 99%. I have an oncologist appointment and we may have caught it early enough that surgery alone will be sufficient treatment (no radiation/chemo).
So that post may have saved my life and it may have made my treatment a lot easier too.
If you get into menopause and then start bleeding again, really, get your reproductive innards checked out. The life you save may be your own.

I never go on twitter (because, you know, it’s twitter) but I just had a look at it to check up on Hank and I’m glad to see he’s being *extremely* Hank about this

Health Update
I don't want to make a big show of this, but I did want to thank everyone for the support and concern you've given me over these past arduous months of testing and waiting.
As of now I am relieved to announce that I am cancer free. Technically I still have a growth in my throat the size of a golf ball, BUT it is benign, stable, and not growing. I will have to keep an eye on it for the remainder of my life but at least for the immediate future, I am in the clear.
Thank you so much everyone. So many of you have reached out with concern and stressed to me the importance of placing my health over my comic/art and that has meant a lot. You're all wonderful and these projects have been a wonderful distraction during this really unstable time. <3

"The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a rule Tuesday [April 9, 2024] that will require 218 chemical plants to reduce toxic and carcinogenic airborne pollutants, aiming to reduce the number of people with elevated cancer risk by 96% nationwide.
The rulings principally address chloroprene: used to make rubber products, and ethylene oxide, used primarily for sterilizing medical supplies. Long-term exposure to these chemicals and their manufacturing have been identified as possible carcinogens, or cancer-causing agents.
According to a report in the Washington Post, this can include lymphoma, leukemia, breast cancer, and liver cancer.
Across a strip of Louisiana and Texas where half of the 218 chemical manufacturing facilities set to be affected by the new regulations are located, cancer rates of these kinds are substantially higher than national averages, leading it to be colloquially called “Cancer Alley.”
EPA Administrator Michael Regan visited Cancer Alley during the open-comment period of the proposed ruling, and said that across the 85 miles dotted with communities, he failed to meet a single person who didn’t know a loved one or friend who had either developed cancer, died of it, or knew someone who had.
Once implemented, the ruling will reduce more than 6,200 tons of toxic air pollution each year, according to the Post."

Before anything else, if you have the means, please consider donating to https://www.curesarcoma.org/ or going to Techno's official merch site to buy some merch, in which all sale funds will be donated to it and supporting Tdchno's family as well.
When I first saw Technoblade's channel when he focused on Bedwars content back in.. probably 2017, he had 300k and I barely paid him any mind. Thought he was a stuck up, famous jerk. Years later with the boom of Minecraft returning, I'd never realized he was such a sweet, hilarious guy just going out there and making people happy.
When he got cancer, I told my friends to calm down- that he'd be fine; it was a tumor, something that could be removed. I was really just trying to reassure myself. I didn't want to lose the man that made me feel comfortable in my own skin being loud, slightly obnoxious and intensely ADHD. I'm still in shock, and as I drew this the reality that he's gone kept hitting me and I'd have to pause, hold back tears. Even now it still hasn't fully hit me yet.
I can't imagine what his close friends and family are going through right now. I'm not afraid to say I bawled my eyes out when I watched the actual update video, and I cried even harder when I heard his dad's voice crack. I can only wish him and his family a safe, calm grieving. And for everyone else, viewers and fans and artists and everyone, I repeat what my last post says:
Your grief for him is real. Your pain for him is real. Please do not snoop or act like you were buddy buddy, but other than that, please know you are allowed to grieve him. He was a beloved icon in this community, and he will always be remembered as a legend.
And just like legends do, in everyone's hearts and minds, Technoblade will never die. I love you guys, and he did too. Take care of yourselves.
Rest in peace, Technoblade.

Rereading this fic from @steddieas-shegoes and had to do this.
Tumblr media
“You boys’d better sit down.” Wayne’s voice comes out quiet, almost hesitant.
“What’s up, old man?” Eddie asks. He sounds jovial, but everyone in attendance knows him. Knows he uses humor as a shield. Knows he’s scared.
Steve takes his hand.
“No easy way t’say it, so here goes.” He takes a deep breath. In, out. “I got cancer.”
Eddie freezes, then starts rambling. “That… that’s okay. I mean, It’s obviously not ideal, but. We’ve got money now. We can- treatment. There’s treatments, right? We can- we can do something?”
Steve squeezes his hand. Looks steadily at Wayne. “How are you feeling?”
“Fuck, good question,” Eddie mutters.
Wayne looks at him. At the look in his eyes. “I’ve been better.” He glances over at Eddie, then back to Steve. They both know he can’t say how he’s really feeling. Eddie’s already hanging by a thread as it is.
“Eds,” Steve murmurs, squeezing his hand with both of his. “Grab the three of us some water?”
“Yeah,” Eddie says. “Y-yeah, of course, I’ll- yeah. Okay.” He stands and walks out, not looking at either of them. They both know he’ll be okay; he just needs to process.
Wayne looks at Steve.
Steve looks at Wayne. Inclines his head.
Wayne sighs. Allows the tremor in his voice when he speaks. “Hurts all over, kid.” Steve nods. “Worst part is I won’t do the treatment.”
Steve frowns at him. “Why not?”
“Experimental. Painful. I’m already up in m’years, boy, I don’t got that many left. It’d be a waste.”
Steve nods, gaze sliding down to his lap. He doesn’t look up when he speaks. “My dad died from cancer.” Wayne stills. “I always thought it was anticlimactic, y’know? He was… God, he was a truly awful person. Just seemed like he deserved something just as awful to finally do him in. Didn’t seem fair that it was something so normal.” He meets Wayne’s gaze. “I’m starting to think he got what he deserved after all.”
Wayne works his jaw. Blinks away wetness. Says roughly, “Goddammit, kid, get me the phone book. I’m callin’ the hospital back.”

The description on Techno’s SFA courage award
[Image ID: a screenshot of the description of Technoblade’s Sarcoma Foundation of American’s Courage award. There is a photo of his Youtube profile picture. The description reads:
“Technoblade, real name: Alexander, was an American YouTuber and internet personality known for his YouTube channel, Technoblade, a Minecraft persona in the guise of a pig that he started at 14 years old. He is widely regarded by the game’s community as one of the best Minecraft players and Minecraft content creators. In the beginning, he plugged away at making videos, attracting a small but steadily growing group of followers with a goal of accumulating 10 million subscribers, an achievement reached by very few*. In July 2021 at the age of 22, after noticing pain in his right arm and a sudden lump, he was diagnosed with sarcoma and chest scans revealed metastasis to both lungs.  Alex endured chemotherapy and radiation treatments, an embolization procedure tumor, and also participated in a clinical trial for the treatment, Milademetan. Throughout his sarcoma journey, he decided to use his significant platform to help support sarcoma research, even if it most likely would not gain results in time for him. His first effort for SFA was “Minecraft But Viewers Control The Game (Charity Event).” Still weak from chemotherapy, he played for almost four hours, raising over $360,000. Throughout his treatment, he continued to do more for research, and made February 2022 his own Sarcoma Awareness Month, raising an additional $150,000.  In total, Technoblade rallied his followers to raise over $1 million for sarcoma research. Unfortunately, tests revealed that his sarcoma had continued to grow and the masses in his lungs had begun pressing against his heart.  He died in June of 2022, shortly after his 23rd birthday, at home, surrounded by his family. The public reaction to the announcement of his death was overwhelming. And rather than focus on what an amazing gamer he was, or how smart or how funny he was, instead people talked about his kindness and his generosity. People spoke about how much his videos helped them through a difficult time in their lives. Other well-known YouTubers such as Dream, expressed their admiration for him. Simon Collins-Laflamme, the co-founder of Hypixel, and business magnate Elon Musk expressed similar feelings. YouTube posted its condolences to his family, friends, and fans and Technoblade was described as “one of Minecraft’s most celebrated personalities.” Mojang Studios, the creators of Minecraft said that Technoblade “became synonymous with a source of good.” Even now, people are still quoting his oft-repeated catchphrases, including, “Technoblade never dies.”
*In June 2022, Technoblade’s channel had reached 10.8 million subscribers and in August 2022, it posthumously reached fifteen million subscribers.”.

A series of screenshots showing the listing for this year’s Courage Award from the Sarcoma Foundation of America. It reads:
“Courage Award honorees illustrate, through their personal efforts and actions, sarcoma advocacy. These individuals are patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates who inspire others by using their platform on behalf of sarcoma patients and survivors to create hope and a better life for the sarcoma community. Many do not think they have done something special but who have inspired others and are making a difference for sarcoma patients and their families. The Courage Award honors patients who have demonstrated strength and perseverance in their sarcoma diagnosis.

The fact that when I came back from the cinema wanting to see some cool art and people talking about interesting stuff after something so flipin awesome and the first thing i see was the dream team being so fucking rude during a CHARITY EVENT for their DEAD FRIEND is honestly so disheartening.
My grandfather was so lucky to get cancer twice and survive both times, I knew someone who lost her dad to cancer. I know someone who survived childhood cancer. One of my great grandparents died of cancer, my family on both sides is extremely family oriented if he never died I would have met him. The fucking disrespect that they showed should not be laughed at, it shouldn’t be encouraged.
The fact they were playing airhorns during Technodad’s speech, one that should have been respected and really quiet durning and no one interrupting is the fucking worse. I don’t care if dteam fans say that it’s funny and Techno would have laughed because it’s not the fucking point!!!
The whole festival was a charity event in honour of their friend, and for Technodad his fucking son. No one should have gone though this. I don’t care if this comes across as rude or overreacting because the dteam need to grow the fuck up and learn that their actions have fucking consequences for once.
This isn’t supporting a brand that’s actually a scam, this isn’t saying something offensive by accident. This is being rude and disrespectful.
And it even hurts that none of their fans are going to care a single bit because I don’t fucking know maybe they’ll say “but it was a joke” or “dream has ADHD your being ableist” because none of that shit matters when you realise that neither of those things matter when it’s about respect.
These are the same fans who will defend these mother fuckers to the grave but when someone like Niki Niahchu accidentally uses avae because she doesn’t know about American history or what avae is because she lives in Germany(or any non American country because the world doesn’t revolve around you fuckers) and is called overreactive during mcc and having a lot of stress put onto her and BREAKS DOWN ON STREAM it’s ok because they think it is.
I want dteam fans to see this post and be uncomfortable, I don’t care if I’m being mean to your pretty white boys because they have been allowed to do anything with a platform that is way to big for them for too long. I’m allowed to be angry as well, I’m allowed to be mean, I’m not apologising to you if you feel sad that I’m being mean about them because they need to grow up.
Charlie had every right to tell dream to shut up during that stream.
Edit: I’m not going to be answering anymore asks about this post, I want my blog to be a personal space for me. This post wasn’t supposed to get as big as it has and just for me to rant. I’m only going to be accepting art requests and general asks and nothing about this. I’m 14 please leave me alone.
