If you vacationed in Hawai’i durning this pandemic. Fuck you. Fuck you, I fucking hate you. I hate you.

My people have been hanging on by a fucking thread for generations. We have been struggling and dying and suffering and our culture has been commercialized and ignored and we have been stripped bare by you people. It’s a slow and brutal and exhausting death. It’s torment and it’s struggle and we are clawing our way to the surface. Clawing.

And in the middle of a deadly pandemic, you have all decided that the price of “paradise” is my peoples lives. And you have decided that your vacation more important than our lives. You have decided that your vacation is more important than our culture.

And while so many of my people are sick or dying at home you travel to hotels and beaches and party on sacred and stolen land. You pour money into an industry that commercializes and maims my culture and you bring diseases that kill my people.

I hope your vacation was worth it.

We did an activity today in English where we wrote down some times we struggled in life. So instead of venting 5 times, I wrote,

The time I thought my friend got struck by lighting and died (he just fell asleep)

The time my lactose intolerant friends all banded together to eat stuff with lactose while I and other lactose tolerant people tried to get them to stop (none of us lived near each other)

The apartment drug bust

The time I was eating cake with my mom and she casually told my my grandpa had died, like, a day ago

The time my mother got covid and I was kicked out to sleep on the couch (back when it generally meant high risk of death +I was depressed at the time(unrelated))

Currently listening to "A Night to Remember" by Walter Lord which is considered one of the classic accounts of the sinking of the Titanic. And listening to I'm like. Yeah as a kid I was so fixated on the not enough lifeboats thing but listening to how folks are behaving in this account I'm really starting to understand why so many people died in this disaster.

And also I can't help but feel a pang of recognition because it reminds me of how folks have acted with such disregard to Covid.

May have RSV(respiratory syncytial virus), will be going back to the doctors tomorrow for a test bc I was only tested for Covid (there’s a rsv outbreak in my state apparently among Covid and the flu)

It sucks to admit that I’m sickly. My friend is familiar with the disorder I have bc his aunt has it too, and he said she’s sickly like me. And I was like ????.

It didn’t process even as a former bio major that the lack of one of the nervous system tumor suppressors can influence my immune system’s capabilities.

I just thought it was normal to get sick cyclically. February, May, July, November again and again. I used to get repeated sinus infections every single February. It took a lot of care to not catch Covid.

Ik I shouldn’t expect my neurologist to tell me everything about my disorder, but everything is like loosely connected that it’s like “what doesn’t this disorder do?”

(I know the answer which is it doesn’t kill me directly but like if someone with nf1 dies of cancer would you also attribute the lack of neurofibromin 1 as a contributor?)

I should be more proactive and tell her things that seem innocuous, but I don’t know what’s abnormal or not, and I don’t want to make a fuss over nothing.

NF1 isn’t even a disability under the law eyes of the law because half the people with it don’t even display symptoms.

Genetics are so confusing, man.

Polyploidy but only half of the time, genetically dominant but can skip a generation only sometimes. A mutation, but they can predict where on the very large gene that nf1 affects got mutated. What the hell?

So uh, I hope I don’t have RSV, bc apparently for the very sickly it can last weeks up to a whole month possibly more.

Considering the dark things happening near me and to the people I care about, since 2020, it feels like Covid was the least of my concern even though it could've killed me if we did nothing about it.

Edit: just to clarify, I got vaccinated in a timely fashion and never caught the virus

I know this is an art account, but there are times where I gotta be serious here. I can't pretend to ignore what happens in my country, and I gotta be the voice of my people to my followers who are from other countries.

That being said... Bolsonaro is, in my honest and humble opinion, a tumor in society. Not only one of the worst presidents Brazil ever had in matters of economy... But his wave of hatred left a undeniable scar in brazilian society. He was ellected by fear, prejudice, hate speech. He was supported and fed by the masses and the elite members that were tired of seeing the working class, lower classes and beyond being able to buy houses, cars, to attend universities that only their lil rich children were attending.

He was ellected on fake news about gender ideology, communist threats, and turned politics into a holy war. He made his followers believe that he was a messenger of God and Jesus themselves and everyone who was against them, was the Enemy and should be purged. He was completely reckless during the Pandemic, we had over 650.000 people who lost their lives to the virus because he refused to buy vaccines and mocked people who were hospitalized with the virus.

And just yesterday? His followers attempted our very own version of the Capitol invasions. All because they were salty that their little genocidal president was no longer in power. All because President Lula was approving laws to defend and protect the people, the environment, the POC, indigenous, LGBTQ+, working people. They stole and destroyed many of our nation's itens and art pieces, one of the copies of our Constitution...

While Bolsonaro himself is now in Florida, pretending to be sick at the Hospital because he doesn't want to come back to Brazil to be tried for his crimes. Not to mention his sons, who are the biggest suspects of the political murder of Ms. Marielle Franco. (Please look up her story. Marielle's memory is too important for the brazilian favela and the POC youth she was seeking to protect).

Bolsonaro is a coward. A joke in a presidential suit. A tumor that forever left a wave of pure hate on our nation, who destroyed our beloved Amazonia. I sincerely hope he faces trial and prison for what he did. And he sure is lucky that Brazil doesn't have death penalties. Because what he did can be very easily considered a betrayal against our nation. And I know very well how places like the US treat their traitors.

Overall... I'm just glad this Monster is no longer our president. And I am happy to see the whole world siding with our Democracy.

there’s a lot of things having covid before the vaccine in early 2021 did to me (loss of smell permanently, brain fog - not as sharp as i used to be, harder to run long distances, taste changes, etc) but i think the worst thing is the fact that the taste of lime is abhorred to me now. i cant even use it to flavor things like guac anymore, it all has to be lemon or nothing

Hey y’all! Just wanted to update that I seem to have caught covid (tested positive earlier today), so progress on all my stuff is gonna be even slower until I’m recovered. I feel like I couldn’t think my way out of a paper bag right now — the brain fog sure is a thing, huh? This is my first time getting it and I have to say, so far it’s a 0/10: Would Not Recommend, I feel like microwaved garbage
