Desolation synopsis
Fire. Burning wax, boiling water, melting flesh. Singed paper. Singed hair. A fire you can't see, that destroys you anyway. A burning desire, engulfing you like flame. Smoke, ash, charcoal. Something you can never get back.
Propaganda
The desolation is so underrated. fire is so beautiful, its so much more than just chaos and destruction
Corruption synopsis
Rot. Insects. Disease. It lives under your skin. Mycelium burrowing in, eggs laid underneath, plague spreading through the blood. Fungi, mold, slime. Wasps, maggots, flies. Boils, pus, rashes. But it loves you. And it consumes you. Isn't that love?
Propaganda
A sweet living mandala of maggots and bones bleached white long ago. They feast and writhe and feast and die, what a blessed life they live. One could be consecrated into their order, although you cannot become a member. Oh the joy of being a temple for those least welcome elsewhere, to offer safety, shelter, and food with only your flesh. Join us, and become a home.

HOT TAKE TOURNAMENT
POST-PRE-PRELIMINARY #75
Tumblr media
Submission 68
Wasps are good
Wasps are fantastic for the environment! They can help pollinate flowers and provide a valuable food source for birds. Wasps are not only a necessary part, but a good part! They are truly not deserving of the hate- and all for stinging humans. In fact, wasps typically only sting humans if they feel threatened- say, if someone gets near a wasp nest and starts waving their hands. I speak as someone who got stung by a wasp and started screaming like my leg got cut off when I say I genuinely love wasps.
Pre-preliminaries will be used to determine what qualifies as a hot take. Propaganda is encouraged!
Also, remember to reblog your favourite polls for exposure! (exposure like when you’re exposed to the fact that the KISS Scooby Doo crossover does actually exist, scarring you for life)

Could I maybe have a Lolbit (fnaf world) stimboard with potions and wasps (if you don't like insects and don't want to use gifs of them you can use any alternative that you would like to) if that's alright and not too much trouble for you? Only if you want to! Thank you and take good care of yourself!!

Not to belittle your arachnophobia because that’s completely valid but every time you post about bugs I’m reminded of how you casually remove wasps (I’m TERRIFIED of wasps) but spiders are scary (I can handle spiders usually) and it’s such a dichotomy it hits me the same every time, like you’re like “I grabbed the wasp and moved it” and I’m like melting at the thought in horror and shock
wasps are infinitely less terrifying than spiders and they are nowhere near the same thing at all.
But that's also valid. everyone is different and has their reasons for whether or not they like or dislike something that someone else likes or dislikes.
[slight descriptions below of my encounters with bugs n arachnids: spiders & wasps]:
and I've been stung by at least 1 wasp before when I was little. I have a fear of being stung, but I know how to catch and release the wasps safely. Going slow and careful, no sudden movements and trapping them in a large and thick enough cup with a thick paper to cover it until I can get them out the door. I'm fine with it. They haven't chased me or anything which is good. I'm fine with them, honestly.
wasps really do not bother me unless they get a bit too close for comfort. (ie, flying too close to my head or crawling on the cup too close to my hand as I'm trying to catch it), but even then it's really still not that bad.
SPIDERS THO?
they're upsetting to look at when they're big enough. I don't think I've ever been bit by one, but I've had them crawl on me before and it's the WORST. I'm not the type of person to wish all spiders DIE or be KILLED VIOLENTLY, but they make me cry and SOOOO UPSET. I really hate looking at them.
The ONLY spiders that we get randomly in this house that do not bother me much if at all are the little wall/corner spiders, they're like BARELY a single centimeter in size at max. They rarely get up and move around. It's only when they're rarely skadaddling across my bed or something that I don't like.
Cellar Spiders and Jumping Spiders on the other hand.. EUGH. HORRIBLE. I HATE HOW THEY MOVE. THEY GET WAY TOO BIG.
AT LEAST THE CELLAR SPIDERS RARELY MOVE AROUND. THEY STAY UP HIGH AND TUCKED INTO CORNERS/VERTICES OF THE CEILING AND WALLS.. NOT LIKE JUMPING SPIDERS THAT WANDER FREELY. JUMPING SPIDERS TO ME ARE LIKE.. REALLY UPSETTING BECAUSE THEY JUMP. RIDICULOUSLY FAST AND HIGH/FAR. I DO NOT LIKE THAT.
I do not wish to ever get that close with a spider.
I would rather deal with wasps on any given day tbh.

Nothing more cursed than watching 1x08 cgi bee scene and then looking up to see three wasps crawl into your room from a hole they made :)

I just think more necromancers should use insects yknow.
[ID: a digital, fully coloured drawing of Goose, the artists OC from the waist up.
Goose has green skin and red eyes as well as short, black hair. Their right eye is missing a piece and they got two earrings in their left one.
They are wearing a grey sweater with a binder visible at the neck opening.
They are staring forwards and slightly down with wide eyes and a determined expression.
There are multiple wasps crawling over their face.
The background is a plain red with lighter stripes assembled around Goose like beams coming off of them.
The artists signature "ÄngryDuckTimeMachine" is set in white in the lower right corner. /End ID]

mention of bugs and bug death
Sometimes I miss the wasps. I wonder if they managed to raise their queen in time before the initial frost hit or if they didn’t succeed. I may try to figure that out someday, maybe take a look inside and see what’s left of the nest if I’m able to.
I’ll never forget their kindness and the fact that they never stung me even as I made quite a ruckus outside of their home at a time of day where they’ll be the most active.
Paper wasps are supposed to be a more docile species of wasps, so I think that might have something to do with it. I also sometimes wonder if they remembered me watching one of them on the hummingbird feeder this spring, taking videos of them.
Or maybe they knew I was just trying to rescue the toads and the skinks. I’m not sure. I don’t know if I’ll ever know, but I like the mystery of it all. I always have. It’s part of what I love about this world. There are things in nature that are so baffling and beautiful. It makes me want to be closer to it.
The last gift the wasps ever gave me was leaving behind their nest. Wasps are territorial, so as long as their nest is on my window, the chances of us getting another wasp’s nest on our house is pretty unlikely.
To them, it’s just their nature. Wasps will abandon their nests once they’ve raised their queen, but to me it is a gift. It was also a gift to be able to watch them through the window and get to see them interact with each other. I got to learn more about them and I got to check in with them every so often, growing braver and braver as I did.
I’m still wary of bugs, especially ones that bite, sting or suck my blood, but those wasps were nice.

hi does anyone else think about april throwing herself over leo to shield him in the shredder strikes back despite having no weapons no way to defend herself and probably assuming she was going to die. does anyone think about that all the time. every day. uncontrollably
[ID: Digital fanart of Ninja Turtles 2003 depicting a scene from The Shredder Strikes Back part 2. April kneels over an injured Leo, cradling his head and looking back over her shoulder to snarl viciously at the camera, though there is obvious fear in her eyes. Her hair has partially fallen out of her bun, the loose strands sticking to her face with sweat. She has a cut on her cheek. Only a portion of Leo’s face can be seen from behind her shoulder. He looks up at her with a sad, pained expression. He has a swollen, bloody shiner on his cheek in addition to other cuts and bruises on the rest of his body. They are on the wooden floor of a dark attic. End ID.]
