This blog is all about; "National or International Policies that are Applicable to Teaching and Learning"
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary "policy" is a method of action selected from among alternatives and serves as a guide and determined present and future decisions. Having policies is very important because it tells what is the right or wrong. If we are guided by policies we can avoid or lessen committing mistakes that can create problems in the field of teaching and learning. There are policies that should be follow so that the teacher and learner are well guided .In learning ICT (Information and Communications Technology) in teaching and learning there are policies. According to SABER-ICT WORLD BANK EDUCATION. There are eight key themes do such policies, as well as set of 20 key areas of policy guidanc
There are countries who are notable in ICT education policies these are Korea, Singapore, United States and England. The information age (1997) it has various specific policies and plans related to ICT use in education. The policy of Singapore are considered by many to represent global good practice models of educational technology policies. Their plans are anticipating the needs and the future of their students. On the other hand United States has been a leader in policy formulation related to technology use in education. In England policy implementation plans have been widely cited as models during educational technology planning processes around the world.
In the Philippines, we a law about cybercrimes to protect every Filipino in the cyberspace. It mentions punishable acts that are committed in the cyberspace that violate individual's right. Knowing these might create a big difference, remember that knowledge create change to it surrounding specially when the people can relate to the situation. Protecting every netizen is must to avoid conflicts in the cyberspace.
We are aware that there are still countries who are not capable to follow the policies about ICT for teaching and learning, because of lacking finances and resources. There are 195 countries all over the world having a population of 7.5 billion and there 85 million people who experiencing extreme poverty. Most countries who belongs in the list of poorest countries are from the continent of Africa. Obviously they cannot access internet and they don't have digital competency. I hope someday everyone will have the opportunity to access ICT education that open new ways of education.
