Requested by the lovely : @tkappi I hope you enjoy this :)
Hi.. Would you write a Story with Cyrus Lupo x reader in a love kind like fluff/ sfw or more ?
A/N: If you like my work please comment like and reblog it means a lot to see interactions on my work
You are Home
Cyrus Lupo X Reader
Working at the 27th district as a civilian definitely had its perks. You worked as a liaison for the people to the police.
 From the second you got there everyone treated you like family and was very welcoming to you.
You worked there fresh out of high school, a family friend getting you a job as an administrative assistant first then going to college and now getting the job you have now.
 When you first started the job you thought no way you were going to stay here this long but then life throws curveballs and now here you are.
You grew it to love it though and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
 You also mean your amazing boyfriend who you were hoping to become more soon. Cyrus lupo was an amazing guy, no one really knew him like you did though.
He was a quiet guy to most but once you got to know him he really opened up. He had been through a lot in his life.
 With his brother’s suicide to him being working with the intelligence division he kept a lot close to the vest.
The first time he ever even talked to you is when he asked you to help him with an undercover case
. It involved some insane group called systematics. You only saw him in passing before that so you were surprised he even thought of you.
He got in trouble of course for taking a civilian out but he was also nice enough to take all the heat so you didn’t get in trouble for agreeing to go with him.
After work you offered to buy him a drink to thank him and make him feel better.
Then the rest is history. He asked you back out after that and two years later you guys were still together. You had even taken the next step in the relationship and moved in together and rode to work together.’
 Everyone at this point knew you were a couple and were the favorite office couple who everyone shipped together.
Cyrus was incredibly sweet and kind. He always loved taking you to breakfast in the morning.
 It was a way the two of you got to spend some time together. You guys always talked about everything and anything.
The only deal was no shop talk. You both needed a break from all that. He always held your hand going into work and would walk to your desk then give a small kiss while no one was walking.
You always said to him before the start of your shift, “ Come home safe to me.”  He always replied
“Yes Ma'am”
At the end of each shift if you got done early or if he got done early. The other person would wait for them to be done so you could go home together.
Coming home was the best part of the day. You both would change out of your work clothes and then go and walk Otto together. He would hold your hand and sometimes while out on a walk you would get your fave dinner together.
Walk around pizza was the best thing ever. You would go to a bunch of different pizza shops eating together.
 It was something you loved or sometimes you would bring a blanket with you on a walk and you guys would eat dinner in the park together.
Cyrus is a very romantic guy as well.
When ever he knew you had a long day at work or even if he just wanted to spoil you he would spread candles and flowers around the house and fill up the bath to have it waiting for you.
You always tried to convince him to join you but he would say it was just for you that you needed to relax. But you had always made it up to him later.
Cyrus always had his love language that he used. He always loved physical touch as his way of showing his love.
 From holding your hand and giving it a little squeeze or if he saw you getting coffee in the break room he would come over and place his hand on your back and looking up at you and smiling.
At home the two of you would either lay on the couch together or the bed he would pull you close to him.
 Placing your head on his chest and he would kiss the top of your head and keep you close giving you a squeeze.
It always made you feel so loved every time he did it.
It was a friday night now and somehow the two of you managed to get off at a reasonable hour. You know were sitting at home when Cyrus looked over at you.
“Go get dressed and wear that nice outfit i like” He said kissing you
“Mmm why what do you got planned” You asked him smiling at him
“Don’t worry about i’ll go and freshen up to now go hurry up” He said
You perked up and ran off the couch and made Cyrus laugh.
You put on that favorite outfit that he liked so much and got ready and he even put on a nice outfit. He wanted to shave but you wouldn’t let him you loved the beard on him.
When the two of you finished getting ready he grabbed your hand and the two of you walked out together.
As you walked out the apartment building you looked over and asked him
“So where are we going” You asked
“It’s a surprise” Cyrus said
“Come on babbyyyy a smalllll cluee” You asked dragging it out
He just laughed and shook his head at you. Where ever the two of you were going you didn’t need that car. Which meant nothing considering it was New York after all.
The weather was beautiful that night, everyone was out and the city was vibing. It was kinda romantic without meaning to be if that made sense. You just enjoyed the walk and surprise to wherever you were going.
You ended up at your favorite park. He took you a different way so you didn’t notice. It was a beautiful set up. There were flowers and candles and soo much food with a blanket and pillows.
You smiled at him and had tears in your eyes. He walked over to the blanket and the two of you sat down.
You nearly tackled him but you lunged over and kissed him. He kissed you back placing his hands on your face.
You pulled apart and he wiped the tears that managed to escape. There was all of your favorite things. Your favorite pizza , sandwich , drink and flowers.
“What is all this baby” You asked
He didn’t say anything, he just got up and reached out a hand for you to take it. You got up and he smiled really big at you
“Y/N I have been in love with you from the moment I saw you. When I came back home I didn’t feel like I belonged thing’s didn’t make sense but then when I meant you everything made sense and I felt like I was home. And I love you so much and i never want to be with out will you marry me” Cyrus asked getting on one knee.
You cried and just started shaking your head yes. He got up and kissed you and you wrapped your hands around his neck and he grabbed you closer to him.
“I love you so much Cy” You said to him
“I love you too so much always” He said to you
He let go and took the ring out the box and slid it on your finger. It was such a beautiful ring your dream one.
“Can we eat now I am starving” You said
“I wouldn’t want to deprive you” Cyrus said.
The two of you sat down and you began eating. It was all of your favorite foods and you totally binged out.
“Well I’m glad you like it” Cyrus said laughing
“Mm soo good I love it soo much you know how to treat a girl right.” You said
“Well it’s not over yet” He said
And you gave him a look and he pulled you closer to him.
 You were resting against him placing your head against his chest and he squeezed you tight kissing the top of your head.
Next thing you know there were fireworks going off and it was such a beautiful scene that made you start crying again.
“This is so beautiful baby how / why “ You asked him
“I know a guy and why because I love you and wanted to make it special” Cyrus said
“I love it so much” You said
“Anything for you baby” He said
You two stayed and watched the show then a little bit later you all packed it up and went home.
 The rest of the weekend went by way to fast. You guys barely left the bed only to get up to get food and walk the dog.
Monday morning you had your usual breakfast before work and then the two of you walked in hand and hand.
When you got there it was unusually quiet and there wasn’t a lot of people around. Which made you both give each other a weird look.
Cyrus shrugged at you and then when you made your way upstairs to the detective area you were startled by everyone screaming
“Congratulations” Everyone shouted
“What omg what is this” You asked
“You think lupes over there ain’t tell his partner he was getting engaged and we weren’t going to throw a party to celebrate” Kevin  said
“You guys didn’t have to do all this though this is way too much” You said walking over and hugging him.
“Around here we need a good thing celebrate”  LT  Van Buren said
“This is so beautiful” You said hugging her
“Your welcome you both deserve it” She said it
They brought out a cake and drinks and everyone sat around eating, talking and celebrating.
Everyone walked up and congratulated the both of you. Cyrus grabbed your hand and walked out the room to the break room so it was the two of you alone.
“Did you know they were doing this” You asked him
“No i was just surprised as you” Cyrus said pulling you in for a kiss
“Why are we alone right now when we have a whole party dedicated to us” You asked
“Mm because then I can’t kiss you” He said leaning in for a kiss
“Come on, we're being rude,” You said, pulling apart and grabbing his hand.
The two of you joined the party again and you grabbed cake and drinks for the two of you.  You guys began eating and you leaned over and looked over at him
“Are wedding cake better taste this good” You said
“Oh it will taste even better” He said
You laughed at him
. Looking around the room it was so crazy that ten years went and came by just like that.
You barely even wanted that stupid office job now it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.
You wouldn’t change anything for the world because this was home.

The Chief's Daughter - One Shot
Summary: (Based on this plot idea.) You're the daughter of the chief of police in your suburban town and you worry about him working too hard. Dropping off meals, coming to check that he's not at the precinct more than he's home starts to get less tedious and repetitive when you meet his newest addition, Cyrus Lupo. Detective Lupo is a transfer from New York and he certainly keeps your father on his toes, so it's definitely a bad idea to fall for him. Right? Pairings: Cyrus Lupo x Reader Word Count: 1,994 A/N: Here it is! My first one shot back in the game. This isn't beta'd or anything, it's really just a little thing to help me dip my toes in the water again. There is far too little Lupo content and when I saw this prompt, the light bulb went off. I kind of want to turn this into a full story, but I don't know if anyone would be interested in a full story. I hope you like it though!
Please do not repost or redistribute my work! Reblogs are welcome!

When this newest case fell into your father’s lap, you knew that he was going to be working late nights and rarely be home. He assured you that he was going to make sure he was eating and getting some sleep, but you knew him better, and that’s why you were walking into the precinct now, holding a bag of dinner from his favorite local diner.
          “He’s on the field.” A familiar voice said from your left.
          You looked over to see Detective Cyrus Lupo leaning back in his desk chair, a smile on his face. “Again?” you asked him. He rarely went on the field anymore but for this case, your father made it a habit.
          “He should be back soon though, he’s been gone for close to two hours.” He replied.
          “Must have been important if he’s been gone that long.” You said, moving to sit in the chair beside Cyrus’ desk. “Do you guys have any sort of lead yet?”
          He shrugged, sitting up in his chair and rolling forward a bit so he could peer into the food bag. “A few, but nothing substantial so far. This is the biggest one we’ve had and that’s off the record.”
          You slid the bag closer to you while he spoke so he couldn’t look inside, earning a small frown from the man. “Well maybe him being gone this long is a good sign then. Why aren’t you out there with him?” you asked.
          “Someone has to hold down the fort while he’s away.” He said, which earned him a quirked brow from you. “He’s a little pissed off at me and has me on desk duty tonight.”
          Cyrus giving your dad problems was nothing new to you. Since he was transferred to your dad’s precinct out of New York, your dad saw him as a problem child. If you had a dollar for every time your dad referred to Cyrus’ “city experience” or “NYPD attitude”, you could have quit your job. When you first met Cyrus, you thought he was a bit arrogant but as you had gotten to know him on your visits to bring meals or just to check in on your dad, you realized he was anything but. He was caring, he worked hard, and he could always get you to smile or laugh, and that seemed to bother your dad, but you weren’t dating the man so what could be the harm in just chatting with him?
          “I have such a hard time believing that you’d ever get in trouble and assigned to desk duty, Detective Lupo.” You said with a smirk.
          “I can’t believe it either.” he said shaking his head.
          “So, what was it this time? Mouthy comment? Sarcastic remark? Too tough with a suspect? Flirting with a witness? I could go on.” You said with a cheeky smile.
          “You should be a profiler, you read people pretty well.” He teased. “He wanted me to drop a lead and I didn’t want to let it go.”
          You nodded at him to get him to continue.
          “It got us a different perspective and a potential new witness, but it also got me desk duty.” He shrugged. “I don’t know if it’ll play out or not but at least it’s something else to try instead of just sitting around.”
          Your dad was always about facts, not gut feelings, or hunches, and that’s one of the many reasons he butted heads with Cyrus. “Is that what he’s checking on now?” you asked.
          “No, I did. He’s checking on what the witness gave me earlier and I’m sure that if nothing comes from it, I’ll be at this desk for the next month.” He said, crossing his arms on his desk.
          “Well if he’s been gone almost two hours then maybe there’s something there.” You shrugged.
          “Maybe.” He mumbled. His phone rang and he checked the screen before raising his brows. “Maybe it was a good something because he’s asking me to meet him and Jameson.”
          “I won’t keep you from a good ‘I told you so.’” You stood up from the chair and held the bag of food. “I’ll leave this in his office for him.”
          Cyrus stood up and grinned at your joke. “I’m not gonna hold my breath.” He teased. “I’ll let him know you stopped by and that he has dinner waiting for him.”
          “Thank you. Be careful out there.” You said.
          “Always am.” He said, heading for the exit.
          You headed towards your dad’s office but stopped when you heard Cyrus call your name.
          When you turned to face him, he pointed at you. “And I don’t flirt with witnesses.” He said before giving you a grin. “Only daughters of my bosses.” He said before disappearing down the hallway.
          You couldn’t help but smile at the comment as you put the bag of food in your dad’s fridge. You wrote a note to leave on his desk and then headed out, Cyrus’ grin stuck in your head.
------------------------------------
          Two weeks later, your dad was finishing paperwork for the case and beginning the next one. He swore to you that he wasn’t going to be as ‘hands-on’ with this case, but that seemed to slip his mind after the first two days working on it. That’s how you had ended up at the precinct again, eating dinner with him in his office. It was good to actually sit down with him and check in with him, and you almost made it to the one-hour mark before he got a call and was back to work.
          You cleaned up the wrappers from your meals quietly, kissed the top of his head and whispered to him to be careful before you headed out of his office and towards the elevators. When the doors opened, you were greeted with a familiar face: Cyrus.
          “Fancy meeting you here.” You smiled.
          “You’re lucky, I’m rarely here.” He quipped back. “Going down?” he held his arm out to keep the doors open for you.
          “I am, thank you.” You stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby. You had seen Cyrus here and there over the past two weeks, but since his comment about flirting with you, you got nervous around him. He must have picked up on it because it seemed like he was upping his interactions with you when you were around, like he enjoyed seeing you blush. “Have a good night, Detective.”
          Before the doors could close, he put his arm between them, causing them to open again. “Can I walk you to your car?” he asked with a crooked grin.
          The request took you off guard, but the doors attempting to close again seemed to pull you out of your head. “Sure.”
          Cyrus stepped onto the elevator and let the doors close before he spoke up again. “Your dad still working or did he actually stop to eat tonight?”
          “We managed to have a whole meal and a conversation for nearly an hour. I think that’s a record.” You chuckled. “I see you’re not tethered to your desk tonight.” You noted, looking up at him.
          “No, I’ve been good for the most part. Whenever I have a good idea, I just write it down in my journal instead.” He said with a smirk. “I’m glad you two got to sit down and talk though. I know he enjoys it too.”
          You nodded. “Good idea.” You teased. You smiled softly at his comment and nodded. “I enjoy it too, even if he thinks I’m being overbearing.”
          “He doesn’t think that, he’s just worried about you worrying about him.” He said.
          The doors opened when the elevator arrived at the lobby and Cyrus let you step out first before he joined you, holding the front door open for you. You were parked across the street and at this time of night, it wasn’t too busy.
          “You won’t give me a ticket for jaywalking, will you?” you asked him, zipping your jacket.
          “It’s not jaywalking if you’re getting a police escort. It’s a law.” He said, looking down at you and holding his arm out.
          “Oh, it is?” you asked, not believing him for a second, but still you linked your arm in his.
          “Yeah. Probably.” He said with a smirk before walking you across the street to your car.
          “Thank you.” You said when you got there, pulling your keys out and unlocking the doors.
          “Just doing my duty, ma’am.” He said, opening the door for you.
          You tossed your bag onto your passenger’s seat and then looked up at him again. You were about to tell him not to work too hard, but he interrupted your plan.
          “I haven’t said anything to upset you or scare you off, have I?” he asked, his arm leaning on the door as he spoke. Before you could ask him what he meant, he continued. “You just seem a little nervous around me lately and I hope I didn’t cause you to feel that way.”
          “No, you haven’t said anything.” Sure, he had made a comment about flirting with you but maybe he had forgotten about that.
          “I know I made the comment about flirting with you and I didn’t know if that was crossing a line or anything. I can knock it off if you want me to.” He continued.
          You smiled and shook your head. “Cyrus, you making a comment isn’t going to scare me off. If it did, I probably wouldn’t still be talking to you.”
          “Even if the comment was true?” he asked you, almost testing the waters.
          You looked up at him and cocked your head slightly. “Was it?” was all you could say.
          “That depends on whether or not that would make you act weirder towards me or not.” He said with a half grin.
          He was flirting with you, and he was telling you that he was flirting with you. Your dad would have Cyrus transferred by morning if he knew that you had been flirting back, even if you thought that it was just friendly banter. You tucked a lock of hair behind your ear and shrugged, trying to find the words. “I won’t act weird towards you.” Good one. “Besides, it’s not like I wasn’t flirting back.” You added.
          He studied your expression for a moment before he grinned. “I’m glad we’re on the same page then.” He said.
          You smiled, nodding. “We are. Aren’t you still on the clock?” you asked him. “I’d hate to see you grounded at your desk again, Detective.” You teased before getting into the driver’s seat. You started the car up, Cyrus shutting the door behind you.
          When you rolled the window down, he leaned down so he could see you. “I just need to grab my stuff and finish my paperwork for the night which shouldn’t take more than ten minutes. I know you just ate, and it’s a little late for coffee.” He started, a hint of hesitation in his voice.
          Was he inviting you out? “How about dessert?” you asked him. “Lonnie’s is open late, and they’ve got the best sundaes in town.”
          He nodded at your offer. “I never turn down a lead on good food, especially the best in town.”
          “Well, finish your paperwork and then come meet me there. I have plenty of leads we can talk about.” You teased.
          “Great. I’ll see you there.” He grinned. He knocked on the top of the car before standing up straight and stepping away so you could drive off.
          You glanced in the rearview and saw him heading back into the building once you had pulled away. You weren’t sure how the night wound up in this direction, and you were a little scared of what your dad would have to say about it, but that didn’t stop you from driving to Lonnie’s for a late-night sundae with your favorite detective.

Mess Is Mine: Cyrus Lupo x Reader

Tumblr media
Jenny, Tommy’s widow doesn’t like you. You’ve come to realise that since she’s started working in the precinct. At first you think it’s because of the thing they had before you, that maybe she’s still carrying a torch but the way she makes eyes at Ed…
Cyrus is and will only ever be a brother to her, she tells you when you confront her about it.
“What’s the problem then?” You ask her because truthfully you're kind of sick of the withering looks and the fact she slams down your paperwork when she gives it to you.
It comes out then. The whole story. The parts you didn’t know. About how Cyrus had almost destoryed his career by testifying under the influence at the height of his drinking, how his partner had been shot in an armed robbery because he was sleeping off his hangover in his patrol car.
“You left him stranded; with no one.” She tells you, her finger jabbing into your chest.  “Everything that happened after that is on you. You’re the reason he left us, you’re the reason that Tommy is dead.”
When she walks away from you it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth because maybe she’s right on some level. If you’d stuck around maybe, Cyrus would have got help sooner, never joined the Intelligence Division, gone to Morrocco. He would have been there for Tommy when his cancer came back, stopped him from committing suicide.
It plays on your mind as you sit at your desk that afternoon, filling in paperwork.
When Jenny makes an appearance with the kids, asking Cyrus to watch them for twenty minutes because she has a work thing, the glare she gives you is glacial. You don’t have the capacity to return it because her words are like a barb under your skin, prickling at the nerves.
“It looks like she’s warming up to you.” Cyrus teases as he searches for ways to occupy his niece and nephew. He currently has them unpacking the contents of his desk, but there isn’t much in the box he brought with him so you can see how long that is going to last.  You open the bottom drawer of your desk and remove the small stack of colouring books and pencils that you have stored for when a witness comes in with their children.
“Here, let the kids have these before Van Buren busts you for child labour.” You respond as he reaches over the space between your desks and takes the items from you gratefully.
“Thanks.” He says earnestly, handing them out to the kids. He waits until they’re occupied before sidling up to you desk, his voice lowering an octave so that he won’t be overheard. “For the record, I did tell her that it was on me, all the shit I did, I own that. I think she’s just a little protective because the two of us work together. She doesn’t want me to backslide.”
You raise your eyes to the ceiling and inhale sharply because it feels like someone’s jabbed a knife underneath your ribs.
“I think her definition and your definition of backsliding are two very different things.” You remark.
Cyrus scrutinises you for a moment. You try to mask the hurt on your features but this man, he’s always been able to see through you. It was a pain in the ass back then and it’s a pain in the ass now.
“You know I don’t blame you right?” He asks you, the space between his eyebrows creases as they furrow into a frown. “I know why you couldn’t be around that, why you had to get out. The stuff with your dad…” He trails off as he purses his lips together and shakes his head. “I was a horrible partner towards the end.”
You flinch at the mention of your father, and you know he sees it because his gaze softens.
Thirty years on the force and he’d spent the majority of them in the bottom of a bottle. You were used to unpredictable behaviour, to wayward moods and grown men who couldn’t get themselves to bed.
It was six months into your relationship with Cyrus that he saw the extent of it. He’d listened to the stories your father told at the dinner table as he slowly devolved, rehashing the same thing over and over again. Supported him when he swayed just a little trying to get to his chair so he could put on the highlights from the game. Helped put him to bed because by that point your mother was too fragile to do it. You’d been embarrassed by the whole thing, positive he was going to run for the hills, but he hadn’t, he had stayed. He’s attended the funeral with you two years later when the drinking eventually killed him.
“I have a lot of regrets about what I did.” He tells you as he folds his arms over his chest. “That last night…”
You wave your hand to silence him because honestly you don’t want to think about it. The man you had come home to wasn’t the man you loved. He was someone so damaged, so twisted up in his pain that he let the drink consume him.
“I had PTSD, I self-medicated, it’s no excuse but…” He looks back towards the kids, his gaze distant as he watches Jude select the colour blue. “I just want you to know it wasn’t anything you did or didn’t do, it was me. I was broken.”
Somehow that makes you feel worse because you think that maybe you could have salvaged it, that maybe you could have tried a little harder to get him the help he needed. He had been suffering so badly back then and you’d let your history cloud your judgement.
“Uncle look!” His attentions diverted for a minute, Carly’s holding up the colouring book and showing him the rainbow she’s coloured in. You see him smile, that wonderful bright grin of his and your heart begins to pound in your chest. You can’t stand to be around it right now because you think maybe Jenny’s right, that your actions back then contributed to this whole fucking mess that your standing in.
You don’t realise that Cyrus has moved, not until his palm comes to rest upon your shoulder. You can feel the heat of it through your shirt and it grounds you. You’re spiralling, he knows that, he can read you as well as the graphic novels he loves. His thumb ghosts over your collarbone as you tilt your head up towards him meeting his gaze.
“It’s not on you.” He assures you. “That entire mess, it’s mine.”
You want to believe him, Christ you do but you have this feeling, this doubt right inside your chest because it’s too easy to blame Cyrus, to absolve yourself of the guilt.
“No.” You say, your hand coming to rest over his. “I fucked up too.”

Bachelor Degree Headcanons
For anyone not aware, in the US, generally one has to have a four year degree before getting into law school (in addition to likely having to take the LSATs). I wonder what the prosecutors in Law and Order got their Bachelor degrees in and I don't think they were ever mentioned.
Ben honestly feels like if someone pulled the law off the page and then gave it a heart and soul. I can see Ben as possibly going for a degree in religion but likely was in a pre-law program in addition to some kind of humanities degree, like philosophy.
Paul seems like he may have been an English major at some point. Possibly even economics or philosophy.
Jack was probably a history major.
Serena seems like she could have gotten a Bachelors in political science or some kind of Criminal justice degree (with a focus in criminology and/or corrections).
Alex Borgia gives off art vibes.
Connie is said to have worked as a kindergarten twacher before joining the Manhattan DA office, so her BA would have been in education.
Michael Cutter was failed by his advisor (she let his credits slip through the cracks and didn't do anything about it but was fully ready to leverage that against him) and didn't actually manage to complete a four year, but he did go to school. I can't remember if it was mentioned or not, but he gives off political science or psychology.
Bonus! Cyrus Lupo. Lupo was a patrolman for several years before being sent overseas and prior to being a detective. I'm pretty sure he mentions in season 18 this is his second shot at law achool. Cyrus is fluent in Chinese and knows Spanish, which he may have learnt and picked up overseas or he got degrees in it (or learned in his neighborhood, since Spanish is widely spoken in the US). I also can see him with a bachelor's in criminal justice.

Cyrus Lupo / Waste of Time (Part Two)
Part One
Requested by @laneygthememequeen:
Can I request another Cyrus lupo case, maybe where they’re both detectives and are staking out but go check it out to van-buren’s orders and lupo gets a bullet to his side. He’s alright, just bleeding and stuff but survives and the reader goes down, maybe like she worked with the FBI formerly?
Sooo this is finally finished. I’m so glad I finally got through this fic. It ended up taking way too long since writing action scenes are some of my favorite things to write (I am a fantasy/action writer guys), but I hope you all enjoy!!

Monsters.
You had spent your entire career hunting them down, but they only seemed to multiply around you, the number never growing smaller. It seemed as soon as you got your hands around one, another two would be waiting around the corner. Even with all of the people you put away, it never seemed to make a difference. At times, it seemed like a waste of time. At least, this what you had argued to Cyrus one difficult night as you sat upon your shared bed, legs crossed, holding your head. “Is it worth to risk my life every day? The possibility of not making it home to you,” Your voice began to waver, but Cyrus wrapped his arm around you, pressing a comforting kiss to your forehead. “when my work doesn’t even make an inch of a difference,”
“Hey, I worry about not making it home to you too,” Cyrus said, his words barely a whisper, as if he worried if some deity would heed as words and make his fears so, “And that’s real and scary, but your work not making a difference? You have to be kidding me, because you’ve put away more people and saved more than I will ever know, because I don’t have clearance,” He added, as you gave a shaky chuckle. “But what’s more important is that you got justice for the victims, and that’s far from nothing, These people wait months, years, decades for their loved one's’ killer to be brought to justice, and you do that. Don’t doubt yourself,” He murmured, pressing careful kisses against the nape of your neck, and you smiled in spite of yourself, basking his attention, but that didn’t erase your worries.
Until Cyrus was shot.
Watching him in the hospital bed, a billion tubes running in and out of his body, his mind and body fighting for his life, while you were forced to stand by and simply watch. You were trained your entire life to save others, and yet there wasn’t a damn single thing you could do for him. Until you found him, David Russo, the man who orchestrated this entire operation. Ironically, this is the very moment when you re-discovered the importance of your work. Bringing his would-be killer to jail would be your personal pleasure. Though your pleasure was delayed by certain tactics the FBI took part in, including observation.Since he didn’t flee the country as they thought he would,  they kept watch on him while they prepared a plan. Meanwhile, you stood by, watching the cameras they had on him, as he simply drank his coffee in complete solace in an apartment that had been clear across the city, in a hard to reach building, and on top of it, the apartment was listed under a different name. And the name was Cyrus Lupo.
Clenching your fists, you felt your own fingernails dig into your palm, you wouldn’t be surprised if you drew blood. You were out for blood. The other agents looked away when they spotted your expression, including your unit chief. Everyone had heard your argument early this morning, as the two of you emerged from his office, him visibly irritated and you, a small smile tucked away in the corner of your expression, but it was clear you had gotten your way. As you returned home late that night, you gave a small derisive chuckle at the thought, you weren’t about to let him take you off the case.
You couldn’t care if he fired you after, nothing else mattered. You understood the consequences. And the ones at home were even worse. Lately, you had been spending all of your time at work, while Cyrus had been recovering. You had missed most of his doctor’s appointments, hadn’t taken care of him, nor had you even been home in the past few days. This had led to several arguments, including the one you had this morning.
“You’re hiding something,” Cyrus’s voice came from behind you, as you jumped, turning to face him. He stood in your doorway, arms crossed and eyebrows raised at your reaction to his presence.
“Cy, shouldn’t you be resting?” You deflected his question, hoping to change the subject. It had became increasingly to continue to lie to him over the last few weeks. Each time you did, you felt a little more broken, like someone had taken a hammer to your relationship, and put the pieces back together wrong. And you knew Cyrus felt it too.
“You almost hit the roof when I spoke to you, I don’t think I’m the one who needs to rest,” He walked over to your vanity where you sat, as you set down the makeup you held. He wrapped his arms around you, resting his chin on your head. You smiled at him through the mirror, enjoying his attention. You had barely seen each other the past few days. “Can’t you take a day off?”
Your smile was slapped off your face, as your eyes narrowed, caught between a scowl and frown. “Out of the question,” You dismissed, as you rose, brushing his arms off, as you met his gaze. “We have a huge operation tomorrow,”
“I’m going back to work, tomorrow,” You stopped in your tracks, heart dropping as you turned on your heel.
“You’re supposed to be off duty for another two weeks,” Your voice climbed several octaves, fear creeping into the very depths of your heart. “They can’t be letting you back on already. It’s too soon for you to go back,”
“They are, and I am,” Hands in his pocket, he stood adamantly, holding his ground. “You know I was going to have to go back eventually,”
And you did. You knew he would return to work, return to facing down armed gunmen, return to chasing criminals just as you did, and perhaps it wasn’t fair, but you didn’t want him to. So without another word, you grabbed your bag, and left, slamming the door behind you.
You sighed outside the very same front door, as memories of this morning ran rampant  rummaging for your keys as you tried to push away thoughts of his bags by the door or worse, an empty apartment. But your fears proved legitimate, as you entered your apartment to find no one there.
“Cyrus?” You glanced around the empty apartment, the dishes undone, the garbage as it was when you left, and the TV still on. There was a broken dish on the floor. You felt your heart skip several beats, blood roaring in your ears, as you pulled out your gun from its holster. You began to check the apartment. “Cy?” You called out, “I brought dinner for us,” You glanced around the corner, stepping out and pointing your gun down the corridor where your bedroom was. You creeped down the hall, taking a heart stopping moment to glance behind yourself. No one. “It’s your favorite,” You continued to talk, hoping to catch the intruder by surprise. After that, you didn’t look back, as you paused before your bedroom door. Your hand shook as you reached for the doorknob that you had opened countless times before, but this was the first time you felt…afraid. Your mind ran through every possibility of horrors that lie beyond that door. The mafia was not known for being kind to its enemies, and if they had found out that Cyrus was alive, and that you had found their leader…Images of Cyrus’s body covered in blood rose like the bile in your throat.
Your hand had just almost reached the handle when the door was thrown open itself. You cocked your gun, thrusting in it in the face of your fiancée, who stared at the gun with shock. “Y/N, what are you doing?”
Cyrus’s expression had twisted from that a smile to that of confusion and, was that, fear? “The plate, the TV-”
“I broke it earlier, but I can’t bend too well still, so I went to get the broom,” You lowered the gun, dropping from your grip, clattering on the hardwood floor, as you slowly sank to your knees. Cyrus caught you before you fell the entire way, his grip tight around your shoulders, as he pulled you to his chest. “Y/N, what’s wrong? I’m guessing there’s something you want to talk about,” He wiped your tears away gently with his thumb, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
“I just, you’re going back tomorrow,” You hung your head in shame, eye catching a glimpse of the discarded gun, and squeezed your eyes shut as more tears formed.
“Y/N, I’ll be fine,” He said, tilting your face up. His face was stern and sure, without a hint of doubt. “Lieu is keeping me on desk duty for another week anyway, the only things I’ll be running out is to fetch a cup of coffee for Kevin,” You chuckled, as he smiled at you. “But that’s not the only thing you’ve been keeping from me.”
“Cy-“
“We’re about to get married,” His voice was barely above a whisper, but it silenced your protests, his hurt tone was more powerful than a shout. “But ever since I got shot, you act like that’s the last thing you want to do,” He turned from you, his arms crossed, as he looked down. “I’ve been through too many heartbreaks, Y/N, and I really don’t want you to be one of them,”
You wrapped your arms around his middle, pressing your head to his back. “Cyrus, of course I want to marry you,” He faced you, still holding you close, as he forced you to look in his eyes. Hope flickered in his eyes, as they practically begged you, pleaded for you to tell him the truth. “But I have some things I can’t tell you,”
“Is this about the shooting?” He leaned back into your touch, as you turned away from his back, glancing at the clock. 8:00 PM. “It takes time, Y/N, not just for me, but for you, to recover from something like this,”
“Time is something I don’t have right now,” You picked up the gun from the floor, and grabbed your coat. “I came home just to tell you I had work tonight, I’ll be back late, so don’t wait up for me,”
Just as you reached the door, you heard him say: “You know I always will,”
~~~
“Don’t go in until I give the signal,” Your chief warned in your ear, as you sipped at a drink at the very same restaurant he went to. Your ebony dress barely brushed against the floor, a long slit went up past your knee, revealing your bare leg. Your hair was down, long tendrils flowing far past your shoulders. Though you kept your gaze carefully concentrated on the band playing on stage, some music you didn’t care for, but out of the corner of your eye you could see him. And he definitely saw you. He knew exactly who you were, as his eyes glided up your form like an unwanted hand around your waist. You paid him no mind, tucking a stray strand behind your ear, as you sipped at your drink.
“He knows,” You said, barely audible as the glasses touched your lips.
“Perfect, now just wait for him to approach you,” Patience was key in a game of cat and mouse, and it was only a matter of time until the cat took the bait, and predator would become prey. You stayed in your spot, swaying only slightly to the music, the crowd became thicker towards the middle, while the edges remained dispersed. You stayed near the bar, refilling your drink every once in awhile, and just as you turned to grab it, an arm wrapped its way around your waist.
“Detective,” His hand had maneuvered into your purse, pulling out both a badge and your gun, he flipped open your credentials. “Or rather, Agent, what are the odds of running into a beautiful woman like yourself here?”
“Better than you would think,” No alarm present on your face, as you took your drink in hand, and took another swig. “How’s that apartment treating you? It seems ill fitting of your standards.”
His eyes seemed to flicker from you to his surroundings for a moment, before he smiled assuredly. “Being emptied out as we speak,”
“Of course, a jail cell suits you better,” You put your drink down with a slam, paying your tab.
“Shall we take this party to the roof?” He pulled you along and you allowed him to, glancing around at your gun that he had slipped into his sleeve, the barrel pressing into your back.
“Y/N, this isn’t part of the plan,” Your chief’s voice hissed in your ear, but you paid him no mind, only showing Russo your pearly whites as he guided you to the staircase. You walked up the stairs in silence, your blood roaring in your ears, the only thing you could see was Russo’s body dead body sprawled on the floor. It was only a matter of time. “Open the door,” Digging the gun into your back for emphasis, and you did as he said, stepping onto the roof, and door swinging shut behind you both.
“We don’t have eyes up there, what’s happening?” Your chief said in your ear, and Russo smiled, pulling out your earpiece.
“Almost forgot about this,” He crushed the piece in his hand, tossing it off the roof. He let the gun out of his sleeve, examining it. “Did you think you would kill me today?” He waited expectantly, running his fingers over the gun. “Well?”
“I was going to arrest you,”
“Don’t worry dear, your FBI buddies can’t hear you up here. My friends sweeped the roof,” He wagged his finger at you. “No, what I saw downstairs were the eyes of a killer. Someone intent on revenge, isn’t that right?” You stayed silent, unwavering in your stare, but that only made him laugh. “I’m right, aren’t I? Because of what happened to your fiancee. Lupo was it? His name was useful, for both me and you,” It was, that’s how you had found him. It was what had led to this. “Cyrus Lupo, he’s a lucky son-of-a-bitch. I’ve seen men bleed out in minutes and die from wounds like that,” You stepped forward and he held the gun up. “Uh, uh, uh,” He cocked the gun, his finger tapping the trigger. “Of course, having you die would probably be a fate worse than death for a bleeding heart like him.”
“You’ll be the only one bleeding after this,”
“We’ll see about that,” He pulled the trigger, a bang echoing off the roof, loud as lightning, but there you stood. He looked from the gun to you, flabbergasted.
“You know if an agent lets you get her gun so easily,” You pulled a gun from a holster on the inside of your thigh, “There’s a reason,” You cocked the gun, taking careful steps toward him.
But to your surprise, he only smiled. “Go ahead, shoot me, there’s gunshot residue on my hands, a gun lying on the ground beside me. No one will be the wiser. But you will, and you’ll be no better than me,” He shut his eyes, his lips twisted in the same grin. “A monster,”
You stared at the man before you. Countless deaths on his watch, on his orders, he reeked of bloodshed and bodies, and the world would undoubtedly be better off without him, but did that make it okay? Was this justice that you had cried to Cyrus about? Was it worth becoming a monster?
Your gun clattered to the ground, slipping from your slack grasp, as you instead pulled handcuffs out. His eyes flew open, going from the gun to the cuffs, and he laughed as you approached. “I knew you couldn’t do it,” You got to him, reaching out to cuff his hands, when he knocked them from your hands, lunging for your strewn gun. You did the same, both your hands struggling for the gun, “But I will,” He hissed, taking the gun from your hands, and then there was a bang.
You felt something drip down your face, and your eyes opened to see his glassy eyes staring back at you, and you felt a hand on your shoulder. “Cyrus,” You could feel Russo’s blood run down your face, the warm liquid dripping onto the roof.
“It’s over,” Cyrus said, holding a hand out to you. You looked back at Russo’s body, before you took Cyrus’s hand and you didn’t turn around again.
The two of you sat in silence in the ambulance, as the medic made sure you didn’t have any injuries, and when he stepped away to check your results, you turned to Cyrus. “Cy,”
“So you were seeing Russo behind my back?” He gestured to the dress you wore that was now ripped and stained in several places, which you realized was Russo’s blood that had dripped onto the silky fabric.
“Cyrus,” His hand grasped your own tightly.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” His voice wavered ever so slightly as he asked, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “I could have been here,”
“I wanted to protect you,” You couldn’t quite meet his eyes, instead keeping your gaze fixed, a faraway look in your eyes. “I couldn’t lose you, not again. Not to that...monster,”
“You never lost me,” He said, as the two of you watched them load up Russo’s body bag into the truck. “You never will,” His arms wrapped around you, his warmth enveloping your form, and for the first time you felt truly safe from any monsters.
Law & Order “Dignity”
S20 E5, released Oct. 23, 2009
WRITTEN BY: Richard Sweren and Julie Martin
SYNOPSIS Dr. Walter Benning — a third trimester abortion provider — is shot dead at his church. A cop on the scene informs detectives Cyrus Lupo and Kevin Bernard that a witness saw a white man flee the building immediately after the shooting. According to Benning’s wife, an anti-abortion protester had shot her husband at his Riverdale clinic the year prior (the assailant is currently in prison). When the detectives visit the clinic, they see a large crowd of protesters from an organization called Mission for Life. But according to one of the clinic nurses, the MfL protesters are non-violent and even assisted in apprehending last year’s shooter. When the detectives notice that the clinic received several recent calls from a Pennsylvania phone number, the nurse says it was the boyfriend of an incoming patient, and that he sounded angry.
The detectives track down Jonah, former boyfriend of Blair (the young PA woman seeking a third trimester abortion). But when Jonah admits he was scared off of parenthood when Blair said the baby would have serious health problems, it becomes clear he wasn't the shooter. The detectives then question a visibly pregnant Blair, who explains her child will have fragile skin disease and require round-the-clock medical care. She mentions how excited her father was to become a grandfather, which leads the detectives to questioning her dad, Professor Morton. Initially, Morton claims he only called the clinic, but eventually admits he also visited the day before the shooting. While there, he told his daughter’s story to a protester who told him not to worry about his daughter’s unborn baby.
The detectives next visit the Mission for Life headquarters, where a staffer and MfL attorney Roger Jenkins assure them that they too want to catch the killer. The staffer then identifies a photo of the suspect as Wayne Grogan, an overzealous protester not affiliated with MfL. Through Grogan’s ex-wife, the detectives try tricking Wayne into meeting them at the hospital. Unfortunately, Grogan’s son has tipped him off and sent Jenkins as a legal representative to negotiate his dad’s surrender. Instead, the detectives go back to the son, pressure him for a tip, and eventually apprehend Grogan at his girlfriend’s cabin in the woods.
Jenkins represents Grogan at his trial and immediately bargains with district attorneys Michael Cutter and Connie Rubirosa for ten years on a manslaughter charge. The DAs refuse, which is when Jenkins says his client will claim he acted in defense of another (i.e. Blair Morton’s unborn baby). He later tells the judge that unborn baby Morton’s medical condition is serious but survivable, and that Grogan knew this before he killed Benning. Much to the DAs dismay, the judge allows this argument.
The DAs meet with their boss, Jack McCoy. McCoy tells them they need to prove Grogan wanted to kill Benning before he heard about the Mortons. Rubirosa questions nurse Jennice Morrow, who supposedly quit working at Benning’s clinic because of the protesters. But it turns out Morrow quit because she saw Benning accidentally deliver a live baby, then murder it. Rubirosa informs Cutter and McCoy and says they need to notify the defense team. But since that information isn't directly related to Benning’s murder (and could only be used by Jenkins to prejudice the jury), they tell her to keep quiet.
At the trial, witness testimony keeps working against the DA’s case; Jenkins gets Professor Morton to admit he doesn't support his daughter having an abortion, and then a gynecologist who vouches for Morton’s professionalism insults pro-lifers by referring to them as “hypocrites and fools.” The defense ratchets up their case by bringing in Lisa Barnett, a woman who gave birth to a terminally sick baby even after doctors suggested she have a third trimester abortion (and whose story apparently inspired Grogan). Her tale about the 21 hours she spent with her beloved infant daughter — whom she wanted “to die with dignity” — leaves half the jury in tears. However, when Cutter asks if she believes late-term abortion providers offer an important service, she surprises the defense by saying “yes.”
At this point, Cutter tells McCoy he wants to take the manslaughter deal, especially because he personally can't abide late term abortion. McCoy refuses. Then they learn that the defense found out about nurse Morrow (via Rubirosa, who refused to omit that information) and are bringing her in as a witness. On the stand, Morrow describes in brutal detail how Benning delivered the baby by accident, asked the mother if he should complete the procedure, then stabbed the baby’s neck when the mother said, “yes.” Though everyone in the room is horrified, Morrow also verifies that the baby would have lived for only one or two days.
Later, the DAs argue with each other about the case. Rubirosa says she used to believe Roe v. Wade was gospel but now she’s not so sure where a woman’s privacy ends and another being’s dignity begins. Cutter tells her to just do her job but she says she can’t just set her soul aside like he can.
During closing arguments, Jenkins shows the jury a photo of Daniel Morton, Blair’s newborn baby. Cutter is about to show bloodied family photos from Benning’s wallet, but cans the emotional approach and speaks philosophically about valuing life by eschewing violence. Cutter’s case works. The jury finds Grogan guilty. And though Rubirosa wants McCoy to transfer her elsewhere, he refuses. McCoy tells Rubirosa and Cutter to get over their differences.
KEEPING IT REAL QUOTIENT Before this episode came out in late 2009, series producer Dick Wolf said it would be a “balanced, thought-provoking drama about abortion.” Given that this story is clearly based on the murder of Dr. George Tiller — a third trimester abortion provider who was shot dead by an anti-choice activist at his church less than five months before this episode aired — I think it’s important to look at the creative licenses taken to create a “balanced” narrative. From my point of view (and many other abortion rights advocates) George Tiller was a hero who helped women end pregnancies that would have hurt them, or would have forced them to give birth to babies with severe, sometimes fatal abnormalities. He didn't deserve to die. But since the writers felt the need to present abortion with a “both sides are problematic” viewpoint, they thought it was necessary to make it seem like his fictional counterpart did things that justified him being shot. Thus, we are told that Dr. Benning was, in fact, a literal baby killer. I can't overstate how deeply offensive this characterization is, especially so soon after Tiller’s death. That detail about Benning stabbing a newborn in the neck was absolutely fabricated for the purpose of making the dead provider less sympathetic.
Instead of vilifying the provider, I wish this episode had spent more time talking about Blair Morton and her quest for a late term abortion because that would have been a far more compelling ethical quandary. My personal feeling about abortion is this - I will always value the life, liberty, and agency of the pregnant person over anyone else, including the fetus. If that means carrying a pregnancy to term against a physician’s advice (as Lisa Barnett chose), then I support that. By the same token I believe that if Blair wants an abortion, she should have one. But I also think it's tragic that our economic and health care systems compel a woman like Blair to seek abortion mainly because she cannot afford to raise that special needs child. But of course, this narrative barely addresses the financial issue*, except for when Prof. Morton tells the detectives (rather unconvincingly) that he’ll figure out a way to cover the baby’s medical costs. Blair is hardly a part of this story at all. Her dad and her fetus both play bigger roles here, which is fitting because this episode isn't so much about abortion as it is “how men feel about abortion”.
In the first half of the episode, Detective Bernard makes a big show of being disrespectful and snotty toward the abortion clinic nurse. When Lupo later tells him to knock off the snide remarks, Bernard says he was born two months premature because his mom tried to end her pregnancy by throwing herself down a flight of stairs. This is why he is pro-life and needs to be a dick toward the clinic nurse. Ah yes, the old “someone else’s abortion is about me” trick. Here's the deal - abortion only happens to the pregnant person and the fetus inside them. That’s it. For example, my abortion only happened to me and the fetus that was inside me. It didn’t happen to you. My abortion didn't “almost happen” to the person who gave you up for adoption, or your mom who tried to throw herself down a flight of stairs. If you are here and alive because the person who birthed you decided against abortion or the stairs didn't work, I am happy for you. But your parent’s choice had absolutely no bearing on mine, nor should it have. So don't come at me with that “What if I’d been aborted?!” argument, because it is irrelevant and I will never care.
Similarly, I don't care that Cutter is against late-term abortion outside of the courtroom. During a scene in which McCoy warns Rubirosa that you can't count on a New York jury to be pro-choice, he says, “My daughter was pro-choice until she taped a sonogram of my grandchild to be on her refrigerator. Now…” Guess what? I don't care what McCoy’s sellout daughter thinks, either. Also, becoming a mom only made me MORE vehemently pro-choice, so don't assume we all turn anti once we decide to have a baby. Rubirosa’s angst about Roe v. Wade felt pretty maudlin, especially for a show that tends to tell you very little about its professional protagonists’ personal feelings and viewpoints. It sucks that abortion is used as a catalyst for all this clunky, overwrought character development. But from the late 1990s to about this point, TV so often talked about abortion in this way. A pregnant secondary or tertiary character’s desire to terminate becomes this heart-wrenching conversation piece for a bunch of other people who aren't pregnant (see Dawson’s Creek, Felicity, House, and Everwood). We don't see that sort of storytelling as much nowadays and I am sure grateful for that. It's hard to believe that not so long ago, an episode like this was considered a quality, balanced take on reproductive choice.
GRADE D- If they’d found Grogan not guilty, it would have been an F.
* Conveniently overlooking the cost of raising a special needs child was something that bothered me about this terrible SVU abortion episode
I’m So Sorry
Tumblr media
Cyrus Lupo X Reader :) !!!
I’m So Sorry
You and Cyrus had been dating for a couple of years. You worked as a paramedic and would sometimes run into him on calls.
 You fell so had for the brown eyes curly hair man. He was quiet  but once you got to know him he really opened up to you.
You were the one who asked him out. The two of you running into each after shift at a local coffee shop.
He agreed and the rest is history. The two of you were in that place in your relationship where he was moved in and you were just waiting for him to pop the question.
You two were such a good couple wanting the same things in life. Both focused on your careers but also wanting to start a family together to build a life with one another.
 It made it easier on you both because you knew what it was like to work long shifts and hours.
You both also knew how the job can take a lot out of you at times.
 Everyone was always telling you to leave it behind you when you clocked out but sometimes it was easier said than done.
The two of you could always lay it all out on the table and talk things through with one another.
But things lately have been different between the two of you
. Cyrus had become distant with you and things just haven’t been the same. He was working late nights a lot more than usual and even leaving early in the morning.
When he was home he would barely talk to you. Always saying he was tired or it was a long day. He wouldn’t even look or touch you anymore. The two of you hadn’t even had sex in months.
Cyrus would say he was tired or things like “Not tonight” or “I’m in not in the mood.”
 If we're being honest it hurt your feelings. You thought he didn’t want you anymore that he didn’t care anymore.
You tried to see what was up with him because you felt like it was something more than just working late.
So today you got off work early and you texted him to see what he was doing.  He told you earlier that tonight he should be home for dinner.
He never replied to your text but you thought maybe he was just busy
. So around dinner time you drove over to the precinct to see him. You saw his partner Benard walking out but he wasn’t there.
You went over to see where he might have been
“Hey Kevin sorry to be bothering you but I’m wondering if you know where Cy is. He told me he was getting off early but I haven’t heard from him.” you asked
Kevin just looked at you with a surprise look on his face that he quickly tried to cover up.
“Hey Y/N yeah he told me he was on his way home so maybe you just missed him.” he said to you.
“Yeah right I’ll check back at home thanks “ you said and walked away.
Maybe he was home and you just missed him. You drove back to the shared apartment and there wasn’t anyone home.
 No sign on him at all you tried to be worried or hurt maybe he was on his way home soon.
So you sat and waited and no one showed up. The hours went by fast and slow at the same time.
 You were crushed as why he would lie to you. In the pit of your stomach you knew it was something going on that was not good.
You laid on the couch just letting the tears fall down your face. You ended up crying yourself to sleep.
You were woken up by someone coming in the front door. It was dark until you turned the light on by the lamp.
Cyrus was coming in he looked a mess his tie was barely on his shirt wrinkled and his hair was every where.
He looked at you with this look of confusion with a mix of oh shit i think i just got caught.
“Hey Y/N sorry to wake you up baby I thought you were sleeping.” He said
“Where the hell were you I waited up all night for you. And don’t lie to me I know you weren’t at work.” you said
He just looked at you with this sad look on his face. He came in closer in the apartment shutting the door and sitting on the couch.
 He smelled of beer and alcohol. You knew it wasn;t good for him he had problems with it in the past.
A few minutes of science had passed and then he spoke up.
“I’m so sorry Y/n i really am I fucked up and I don’t know how to fix it.” he said there was sadness in his  voice you never heard before.
“Cy talk to me what happened “ you asked him.
“I had a pretty rough case with kids you know how that is for me and I didn’t even realize I was headed to a bar I just walked there and then next thing you know I was there drinking a lot and um I went home with someone else.” he said lowering his head.
You sat there shocked you couldn’t believe that he was drinking again and the fact he cheated on you.
 I mean you had your suspicions  but to hear it was true it hurt even more.
“What I mean why and when how long has this been going on for” you asked
“Not long I swear okay it happened the one time i was drunk and wasn’t thinking clearly and when i realized i fucked up i kept going back to the bar because i felt so bad about what I did. Y/N if I was sober and thinking clearly I would have never” he said
“ I need some time okay why didn’t you come to me and talk to me about it?” Instead of drinking and cheating I mean you barely touch me anymore you barely look at me I thought you didn’t want  me anymore” you said truthfully
“I never meant for you to feel like that I’ve been so wrapped with guilt I didn’t know how to handle it I love you and never wanted to hurt you I swear to god.” Cyrus said grabbing your hand and looking at you.
The tears just kept falling from your eyes a lump in your throat you never had been so hurt before.
You loved him so much but now it seems as things were just different you couldn’t look at him the same.
You looked at him and you just saw him with another women and it just kept replaying in your head over and over.
“I’ll get you help with the drinking I promise but for right now I don’t know about us okay I need time it just hurts right now.” you said
You could see him nod his head and you could see the tears falling from his face. He just looked down at his hands not moving.
“Y/N what ever you need I’m here with you no matter what you want to do I love you so much. I want this to work I can’t loose you. Your the best thing that ever happened to me.  I can’t believe I fucked this up I never wanted to but your worth fighting for and I will always fight for you no matter how long or hard it takes” Cyrus said
“ I love you Cy I don’t know but I want to try I just need space right now you need to work on you and we need to work on us I just need a moment to get past it because I know your heart I know you and I never loved anyone the way I love you.” You said
Isn’t life crazy you thought one moment could ruin everything you had been building up just came crashing down.
You loved him you did and you knew it was a mistake but you didn’t know if you could move past it.
One Mistake could ruin everything. This amazing life you had for yourself seemed like it was just gone how could it happen so fast.
You wondered if you would ever look at him the same again. If these feelings would ever go away.
 That this moment would just be a moment. That this was just a bump in your journey.
You had to try though because you couldn’t let this be it. You couldn’t be done with him you had to fight with everything because he was worth it.
This relationship was worth it. Cyrus was worth it.
