“How long did you put the cookies in for?” You asked your dad after about twenty minutes of waiting for the timer to go off.
“Uhhh, FRIDAY? How much longer on the timer?” Tony spoke aloud and awaited a response.
“You did not set a timer, Mr. Stark.” She replied and the two of both stared at each other with wide eyes before scrambling to the kitchen to check on the oven. It was not surprising to see smoke rolling from the inside once the door was open.
“FRIDAY, disable the smoke alarms for a few minutes, please.” You nervously asked as you father grabbed the pan and awkwardly set it onto the countertop. You both silently stared at the extremely dark cookies and started to giggle. “They definitely look like bats now, don’t they?”
“Maybe candy apples are more our speed.”

You climb into the car, settling into the plush leather seat as Happy closes the door next to you. You set down your bag and try to get your seatbelt buckled while your dad sits next to you, wrapping up a phone call.
“No, no. I don’t care. I said-” He stops, listening to someone on the other end for a moment. He’s clearly annoyed. He’s had to deal with people simultaneously trying to kiss his ass and tell him what to do all week, and you can tell he’s getting tired of it.
“Throw as many conferences as you want, they’ll all be Stark-less. Throw a whole party, while you’re at it- you know what? No, don’t do that. I might actually show up to that.” He mutters the last part, something that would normally make you laugh. He glances over at you, but you’re still fussing with your seatbelt.
“Alright, how about this. I’ll refer you to Stark Industries CEO, Pepper Potts.” The person on the other end is already objecting, but your dad couldn’t care less at this point. He’s said what he needed to say, and this idiot doesn’t want to listen. He continues to wrap up this disastrous phone call as the car pulls into the street, and starts driving you to the airport.
“She’ll help you get this sorted out.”
He hangs up without saying goodbye, then looks over at you. As soon as he does, he knows something’s wrong. You’re not yourself. You’re staring at the bottom of the seat in front of you instead of out the window, or going on your phone. Usually you can’t wait for him to finish business calls, sometimes texting him in the middle of them - texts he’s always happy to receive. You’ve rescued him from pointless conference calls with those texts more times than he can count. You always have something to tell him or update him on, whether that be the latest social media drama, friend group drama, the show you’re watching on Netflix, or even Avengers memes you find online. You always have something delightful you’re excited to share with him without even having to try, and it lights up his day each time. Except now, with you staring into space.
He hands you the coffee he got you, taking his out of the cardboard holder that had been resting on his lap until now. You look over briefly, accepting the drink.
“Thanks,” you say lightly, but there’s something in your tone that tips him off.
“You okay, kid?”
You pause sipping your drink, wondering how he figured you out so fast. He’s your dad, you suppose. That’s kind of his job. You thought you’d been doing an okay job at masking the hollow sadness that’s been eroding you from the inside out all weekend. It doesn’t happen too often, and you tried everything you could to distract yourself until it stopped working. Until now.
“Is it school? Boys? Girls?” He asks when you don’t answer right away. There’s a note of humor to his voice, but there’s also a sincerity, and you know that even if it was school or boys or girls that he would help you through it. “C’mon, you gotta keep your old man up to date on all the tea. The hot goss.”
You let out a weepy chuckle, tracing the lid of your drink. He’s always the first to know when your Starbucks order changes, and he always knows exactly the perfect drink to get you without even having to ask. It’s a little thing, but it makes you feel even worse. You’ve spent the whole weekend trying to ignore how much you’ve been missing your dad, missing spending one on one time with him that’s not in between meetings or over a late dinner. He works so hard, and he has so much on his plate, but he always makes time for you.
That’s why he started taking you along on business trips like this, because you both hated being away from each other. Usually it’s fine, usually you’re off exploring whatever city you’re in, going shopping, or generally finding somewhat entertaining ways to pass the time that you can tell him about next time you catch up. It’s usually really fun, too. It’s just when it gets busy like this, you think, when he has all these meetings and you have all your stuff that you’re juggling that you start to get like this.
“No, no,” you say softly, rubbing the bottom of your eyes when they start to get misty. “Nothing like that…”
Tony listens intently in the silence that follows, waiting to see if you have more to share with him. The smell of his cologne is paternal and comforting, a familiar reassurance that floats around him and feels like a hug.
“I just miss you, I guess…” you start, speaking your mind before you can even think. Your dad has that effect on you, it’s so easy to share how you feel and what you’re excited for or worried about that it feels automatic sometimes, like it’s impossible not to. Tony feels his heart break as he realizes what a toll all the recent traveling has taken on you, both of you. He pulls you in for a tight hug. You feel the tears you’ve been fighting start to spill, Tony rubs your back reassuringly and it finally feels safe enough to.
He tries not to dwell on the fact that you got to feel like this in the first place, tries not to let that voice tell him he should have noticed how you felt sooner, that he’s a terrible dad, because he knows inside that he’s not. He’s not his father, and he sure as hell won’t make those mistakes. He could let himself worry about how he’s doing with you, let it keep him up at night - hell, it still does some nights, even when he doesn’t want it to. It’s been that way with you since he became your dad. Instead of worrying about that, he does what he does best. He takes action.
“You are such a sweet kid.” He states, pressing a kiss on your forehead when you pull away. He brushes away the tears spilling down your cheeks. “Unfortunately, sometimes being a genius-billionaire-superhero-superdad requires some meetings and boring stuff. But don’t think I forgot about the most important part of that.”
The dad part. He doesn’t even have to say it, you both know that’s where he’s going with this. You nod along, sighing as your breathing starts to slow back down.
“But you’re right. It has gotten to be too much lately.”
He reaches into the small mini fridge sitting between the driver’s and passenger seats, crisply cold and stocked with both your favorite drinks. He grabs a water bottle, opening it and handing it to you.
“How about this? We’ll spend the whole plane ride back watching movies together - or that show you were telling me about, the one with- god, what’s his name…” He tries to remember the name of that actor you’ve been talking about the last few days, and you chuckle, supplying the answer. He snaps his fingers in recognition, repeating it back to you.
“Yes. That’s the one. We’ll watch all those movies, and you brainstorm what we’re going to do this weekend. Dream big, kid. I’ll have Pepper help you organize the whole thing.”
Your eyes widen in excitement, and you hug him tightly again.
“Thanks, dad.” You smile. You really are both long overdue for some quality time together, and Tony knows if he has to attend one more meeting, he’s going to lose his mind. The cave he built his first arc reactor in was more interesting than some of the people he’s spoken to recently.
“I love you, kid.”
He looks at you fondly for a moment, basking in pride at what a wonderful, amazing person you’ve become. It’s not time for him to get all sappy on you with the dad stuff, not quite yet, so before he can, he grabs a fluffy throw blanket and spreads it across you.
“Now, we’ve got a big weekend ahead of us, so get some shut eye. I’ll wake you when we get to the airport.”
Right before you start to doze off, you hear him on the phone with Pepper, filling her in on the plan.
“Alright, so they’ve got about 25 more minutes of Stark business time, then I’m off the grid till monday.” Pepper says something about how they’re not going to like that, and Tony laughs, glancing over at you sleeping peacefully. “They don’t have to.”

Oh!! Oh!!! How about the Avengers meeting Tony’s kid for the first time? Maybe she isn’t that old yet (youngling, pre-teen maybe?) and they’re all like how can this be Tony’s kid (in a good way)? But then she starts getting sassy and cocky like her Dad, and they’re like, nevermind
I fantasize about this kinda stuff happening constantly LMAO

Summary: your a young stark, but already act exactly like your father.
Warnings: Y/N being sarcastic, Y/N being a little mean, slight mention of tony being a dumbass 🙄
A/N: I honestly loved this request so much, and to all the other people who requested, it might take me a minute to get to some of them, but I'll try to be fast with it <3
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
You were around 11 when new york went down, and 12 when the Malibu house said bye-bye, and now you live at the tower, your father tony, knew you weren't so good with new people. So him being the dumbass he is, introduced you to everyone at the same time, oof.
He made sure that everyone knew at the same time and that if they step out of line, they'd have it coming for them. You were used to tonys overprotective-ness but he really just wanted you to be protected and feel safe,
"So this is my daughter Y/N" and then he went on and on for like 2 minutes straight taking bout "you even look at her the wrong way you wil-"
"Dad, i think they get it." You looked quite shy and quiet, (you weren't) It was around 7 when you all ate dinner together, you had met nat before (the whole natalie rushman thing) but you didn't know her personally, yet.
You went to your room after dinner, and turned on whatever movie you saw first, tangled, you and your dad LOVED disney movies, it had become a tradition to have a Disney movie marathon at least once a week, it had been about 30 minutes of you being in your room there was a knock at your door,
"Come in" you said flatly not taking your eyes of the screen, tony poked his head through the door and spoke up
"Y/N/N" he said walking deeper into the dark room
"Hmm" you hummed waiting for him to continue,
"Sorry i put you on the spot like that earlier, i know you aren't good with new people" he said with slight guilt in his eyes, coming toward you, sitting down on the bed,
"It's fine, i always knew you didn't love me..."
"What?? I never said that i..."
"I know :')" you said laying back, your father putting his arm around you before you could. You snuggled into him, your head resting softly on his shoulder, continuing to watch your movie, with your dad this time <3
Eventually you fell into a deep slumber, your chest rising and falling continuously, tony putting a blanket over you two, when the movie ended he looked down at you, sleeping peacefully against his shoulder.
He tried to slip his arm out from under you, this made you stir from your slumber, he tried this continuously for about 10 minutes, you holding onto him tighter each time he did. Eventually he gave up and got comfortable, he was clearly sleeping there.
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
The next morning you woke up at around 9:27 exactly. Hopping out of bed, you walked into your bathroom, did your business, grabbed your book and walked downstairs to be greeted by the sweet sweet smell of omelets, you walked into the kitchen and saw Steve cooking, everyone else was sitting in the living room or at the dining table.
"Hi steve" you said walking by, smiling and waving to him.
"Morning Y/N" he replied just as tony walked in, heading straight to the coffee ☕️ but when his eyes fell on you, he wrapped you in a hug,
"Hey baby, how'd you sleep?"
"Fine even though there was a peasant in my bed" you said sarcastically, smiling up at your father, your chin resting on his arc reactor, in that moment everyone turned their heads to you, having not expected that, since you had seemed so shy and quiet the night before.
A few minutes later, you made another comment, after Steve had finished eating breakfast, you looked up at him and sighed,
"Steve stop thinking you're ugly" you said with (fake) sympathy,
"What?-"
"I mean, you are ugly, but dont think about it.."
tony was cackling in the back as you walked away.
+•°+*°•+
you were ranting about sm stupid, doing the classic tony walk, (you know the one where he has his chest puffed out and his lower back arched and one of his hands floating in the air using a whole bunch of hand gestures)
Everyone just staring at you, realizing how wrong they were when they thought you were shy and quiet. Your father was smirking at this. When you realized they were staring, you paused
"Why are you looking at me like that" not even realizing how out of breath you were from your ranting
"You really are a mini tony" Natasha spoke up, eyebrows raised. Tony laughed at this and made a comment, showing where you get it.
"Told you, keep going Y/N/N"

Annoying Neighbour - Part 5

Pairing: Single Dad! Tony Stark x Reader
Warning: 18+ hurt/comfort, bit of angst.
Word count: 3.1k
Annoying Neighbour Masterlist
It had been four days since you last saw your favorite father-daughter duo. These past few months had made you realize just how much you had gotten used to them, their banter, the laughs you shared with Morgan and Tony.
Tony Stark.
The man who made you feel things you had only read about in books. The man you slept with once, but it was enough to make you realize how much you belonged together.
But he was also the man who had kissed his ex-wife in his living room two days ago. Every time you began to miss him, the image of them kissing would promptly pop up in your brain, causing the anger and heartbreak to return.
There were several occasions where longing stares had been exchanged, once while Tony dropped Morgan off at school, another evening when you caught him staring at you while you watered your plants hanging on the porch, his eyes missing the spark that you adored so much. You were the one who decided on ending things and yet you found your self-restraint crumbling every time you saw the man.
Your Saturday began with you realizing you were running low on most of your groceries, so you made a list and decided to head out. Some gray clouds loomed in the sky outside, threatening rain and thunder. Perfect heartbreak weather, you thought with a wry smile.
The car right next to yours looked familiar as you got out of yours in the parking lot.
Tony was in the store too. Was it too late to back out? Maybe you could find another store that wasn’t so conveniently close to where you lived. Putting earphones on, you decided it was best if you kept your head down, got your stuff and head back home.
You just hoped and prayed to God it wasn’t going to be another awkward encounter with Pepper. Seeing that woman again with Tony would do you no good.
You were dumping things in your cart when right in front of you, you saw a commotion through your peripheral vision.
Sure enough, it was Tony and Morgan. He had her sitting on his shoulders while she picked out her favorite cereal box, throwing it in their cart and giggling. The sight automatically made you smile.
Someone cleared their throat behind you, making you turn to the source.
“They’re adorable, aren’t they?”
It was her.
Your heart dropped to your stomach, instantly making you regret your trip to the store. Of course she was still here. With her family. Shopping like normal families do, you thought bitterly.
“Y/N!”
You heard a little girl cry out, already knowing who it was before you heard her tiny feet run across the aisle to meet you.
“Hi Morgan! It’s good to see you.” you smiled down at the kid who hugged your legs as she usually did, Pepper watching the two of you interact with a frown on her face.
“Daddy it’s Y/N!” she called out, making your stomach flip as you turned to watch Tony striding towards you. He still looked too bloody handsome, though there were noticeable bags under his eyes, he looked tired, like he hadn’t been getting enough sleep. Pretty much how your state was as well.
“I’m getting late, I–I should get on with this.” you murmured, pushing your trolley ahead after waving them goodbye, wanting to be away from them.
Morgan stared between you and her father, for her, both of you seemed upset while Pepper - or what her Daddy mentioned to her earlier, her Mommy, remained quite happy.
“Why is Y/N sad, Daddy?” she asked, her voice full of worry as she grabbed Tony’s sleeve to get his attention.
“How about we pick out some ice-cream for you, honey? You like strawberry, don’t you?” Pepper piped cheerfully, dragging her away from Tony.
Driving home had been a task, yet again you had to keep your tears at bay as you unloaded the bags from your car. A million questions ran through your mind as you began organizing your pantry, you thought it’d be best to keep your overthinking brain busy.
It worked for some time. Until you heard their car pull up next door. The bottle of Merlot you’d purchased earlier suddenly seemed inviting.
.
Morgan spent her afternoon playing in the living room while her Daddy and Mommy spoke in the other room, she’d brought out her plane that whizzed by, flying outside Y/N’s window where it collided against the glass.
She saw Y/N crying in the kitchen, her face was sad which worried her a lot. It made her decide to bring it up with her Daddy later when Mommy was not around. He did not speak much around her, she had noticed.
Later that evening, Tony had finished reading a bedtime story to Morgan, who was far from sleepy.
“Why was Y/N sad today, Daddy?” she asked, the concern in her voice making Tony’s heart wrench.
“She looked okay to me. I don’t think she was sad, hon.” he shrugged, pulling the blankets up to her shoulders, hoping she would drop the subject.
“You are sad too.”
He sighed. His own child was too smart for her age, and too observant.
“Did you and Y/N fight? Was it because of me?” her voice went low, her big brown eyes that matched his so perfectly were now distressed.
“We did fight, sweetheart. Y/N is mad at me and she won’t talk. But not because of you. Never.” Tony hated how much this affected his kid, he never wanted it to get this far. With Pepper showing up, Morgan was more vulnerable than ever. She had questions that he did not have answers to.
“But she said she liked you.”
“Did she?” Tony chuckled as Morgan nodded fervently.
“I like her too, Maguna. I like her a lot. But she is very upset, I don’t know if she would talk to me.” he sighed, leaning his head against Morgan’s little shoulder.
“Did you say sorry, Daddy? You made my best friend cry. I saw her in her kitchen today.”
“Hey! I thought I was your best friend.”
Morgan narrowed her eyes at him in a way that confirmed any further argument would lead to a possible tantrum. Tony’s heart broke upon hearing you had cried, all because of him. All of this mess was upsetting too many people. And it all felt like it was his fault. Minus Pepper showing up unannounced, everything was his fault. He handled the situation terribly. And he was determined to do whatever it took to make things right.
“I will go to Y/N’s house and say sorry. I promise you. You’ll have your best friend back.”
“And stop growing up so soon. Off to sleep now, you little monster. I love you tons.” he kissed her forehead softly, turning her night lamp on after making sure she was tucked in.
“I love you three thousand.” His heart soared at her words, it felt like there was at least something he was doing right.
“Three thousand? Wow. Now go to sleep.”
“I want my best friend back!”
Her words made Tony chuckle, she knew him too well. Pepper had left for the night, much to his relief, she had been staying at a hotel nearby. Tony had called Rhodey over to stay, he needed all the help he could get with the whole situation.
Breaking the news of her mother suddenly showing up in their lives had been a task enough for Tony. A part of him was surprised with the way Morgan had handled the new information, then again, Morgan had always been way more mature than her age. He wanted to make sure she was okay, he also wanted to make sure you were too.
Seeing your kitchen light still on, Tony decided to take his chance. It was raining cats and dogs outside, but he’d make a run for it.
He had been late for making amends already, he was only hoping he had not been too late.
By the time he reached your front door, he was drenched.
The ringing of your doorbell pulled your attention from the mindless television that played that your eyes were glued to. Checking your phone it was close to midnight, and your third glass of wine was almost empty. You felt its warm buzz in your belly as you stood up to answer the door.
Thunder clapped outside as the door revealed a soaking wet Tony Stark, your heart leaping at the sight but your mind apprehensive.
“Tony.”
He still looked frickin gorgeous. You hated that. And you hated how your heart fluttered at the sight of him.
“Y/N. Can we talk? Please?” he wiped his face down with his hand, exhaling in relief when you left the door open for him as you turned your back to head back inside without answering.
He saw you were drinking wine in a coffee mug, a small smile appeared on his face recalling the day you walked in on him drinking the same on his porch.
“Wine in a coffee cup?”
Leaning against your kitchen counter, you let out a small sigh, holding your left hand up to reveal a medical tape covered wound.
“I broke the glasses during one of my cleaning sprees.” you explained, keeping your voice low and eyes trained on the floor.
“Y/N…”
“You kissed her, didn’t you?” you interrupted before he could begin, looking directly at him now, waiting for his answer. You saw guilt in his eyes, mixed with regret as he gave you a nod. Breaking your heart all over again.
“Actually she kissed me.”
“I didn’t see you pull away, Tony.”
He wiped his face with his hand, taking slow steps towards you, keeping a safe distance still.
“You also didn’t see me push her away, Y/N. Pepper kissed me on purpose, she loves creating a scene. Always has. Did I wish I had the power to take it all away? Yes. But I know I don’t.”
He saw a tear escape down your cheek, he had to stop himself from wiping it away. Crossing your arms over your chest, you took in a deep breath, steadying yourself.
“Why is she back, Tony? Are you getting back together?” your voice quaked but you still continued.
“No! Y/N, believe me when I say I want nothing to do with that woman. She says she wants to be a part of Morgan’s life again. That she regrets giving her up. It’s all lies. She was hopeful she’d have her position back in the company if she showed up under this guise.”
Tony leaned against the counter opposite you, his shoulders sagging.
“She can be very manipulative, used to getting her way. She has her lawyers all ready for battle.”
As you listened, the ice thawed little by little, watching Tony’s fingers fiddle with his sleeves, his foot tapping against the floor.
“What are you going to do?” you whispered, hands now by your sides as you gripped the counter behind you.
“I’m gonna fight. I won’t let her get her way this time, Morgan doesn’t deserve this. She never did. Neither do you. I’m so sorry, Y/N. I really am.” you believed he meant it. You could see it in his eyes.
“Ending things is easy, Y/N. Working things out and talking about it is difficult. I didn’t think you would choose the easy way out.”
“You think I chose the easy way out, Tony? I chose to protect myself from a heartbreak! That’s what I did.” you cried, your voice breaking in the end as you pointed your finger against his chest, breathing erratically.
“Do you really think this was a mistake? Us?”
You remained quiet, staring at your feet as tears pooled in your eyes once again before Tony held your hand in both his, tipping your chin to make you look at him.
“Answer me.” he whispered, his own eyes moist as you both stared at each other, hands clasped tight.
“I don’t regret kissing you or sleeping with you, Tony. No. I really thought we had something. I didn’t realize things could get this complicated. That was foolish on my part.”
“I was the fool for not handling things well, Y/N. And I am truly sorry. But I won’t let you slip away because of a bump in the road. We’re too good for that. I want to make us work. But I want to know that you want that too, sweetheart. Do you?”
His face was now inches apart, his eyes flicking down to your lips as he waited, and prayed to God you’d be willing to give this another chance. His heart grew hopeful as you moved closer, finally closing the distance between you two.
Thunder rumbled outside as you kissed Tony, lips molding against one another in a moment that took your breath away.
His arms came around you to pull you flush against his chest, tongue peaking between your lips to push past into your mouth. You let out a soft sigh at the taste of him, berries and coffee mixed with your wine.
A trail of discarded clothes along your stairs was laid out as Tony carried you to your bedroom, lips never leaving yours even for a second. Fingers gripping his wet hair, you let out a mewl as Tony’s kisses trailed down your body, finding himself between your legs.
Your head was spinning and body was alive under his touch, mouth falling open as he brushed his nose against your glistening core.
“Tony!” you moaned, feeling his tongue flat against your strip as he tasted you with urgency, his hands keeping your thighs parted for him.
You wanted him, all of him, around you, inside you, now and forever. You were out of breath by the time he was done, crawling up your body and resuming his kisses along your collarbone, paying attention to your breasts.
His erection poked at your inner thigh, waiting and longing to be inside you. He let out a shaky breath as you wrapped your hand around his length, guiding it towards your entrance.
A synchronized groan left your lips as he stretched you in one easy thrust, forehead resting against yours as he breathed you in. The impetuosity of the moment had you reach your climaxes in no time, his steady rhythm pushed you closer and closer to the edge. Your walls clenched around his cock desperately as you came, clinging onto him and effectively speeding up his orgasm.
“Oh Y/N..” Tony let out a grunt before you felt ropes of cum paint your walls, his breath hot against your flushed skin. The desire to keep him close made you wrap your legs around him tighter as you floated away in bliss.
.
“I hate to bring in this angle but it’s not just me who misses you terribly. My kid does too.”
A smile made its way on your face, allowing it to turn into a chuckle, you placed your hand under your chin as you gazed up at Tony.
“Did Morgan send you here?”
“She actually threw me out of my own house to apologize. Wouldn’t talk to me unless I bring her best friend back. I bribed her with juice pops. Didn’t work. And that’s usually a fail-safe way.” he stated, shaking his head fondly while you giggled, his hand traced your back soothingly, the other caressing your cheek.
“I have to go to Malibu for a few days, Y/N.” he added after a few moments of silence.
“Oh..when will you be back?” you frowned, idly tracing your fingers around the light dusting of hair on his chest as it rose and fell steadily.
“Couple of weeks, could be more. I just need to settle this drama with Pepper for good. She’s got her eye on Stark Industries and the head office is in Malibu. The board of directors and I need to have a sit down and discuss a few things.” he sighed, all this worrying had his frown lines deepen over. You couldn’t imagine the stress he was under, he didn’t talk about it to anyone but you understood.
Squeezing his hand in reassurance, you placed a kiss against his cheek, laying your head on his chest once again.
“I will try not to miss Morgan too much.” you teased.
“What about me?” he feigned hurt, giving your sides a little tickle.
“You? I guess you’re alright. For an annoying neighbor.” you murmured, giggling when he smacked your bum playfully.
.
A couple of weeks had turned to four. Tony kept you updated as best as he could, calling you over Facetime whenever he had time, the call evidently would be hijacked by Morgan who spoke to you whenever she had the chance.
Carrying your bowl of strawberries, you made yourself comfortable on the couch, holding your phone up as Morgan went on about her day.
“Everything okay, honey?” Tony’s voice came through from behind her.
“Yeah, why?”
“You look a little pale. Did you eat?”
You held up the bowl for him to see, making him frown slightly. You had never been one to keen on fruits. Watching you close your eyes and rest against the back of the couch only made his concern grow.
“Relax Tony. I’m only tired. I had a long day.”
As soon as you were done with the call, you felt a bit queasy. You had to rush to the toilet as bile rose up to your throat, making you throw up.
Could be the result of a bad choice of dinner you’d made last night, you thought. The desire to finish an entire pizza overtook you yesterday and you were surprised at your own appetite.
An alert from your phone made you check the notification, it was one of your apps that helped track your period. As you opened it, your mouth went dry.
You were very, very late.

You exited the elevator and made your way through the living room, not sparing anybody a second glance.
You went straight to your room and slammed the door behind you, leaving all of the avengers that were currently in the living room in a shocked silence.
That wasn’t like you.
You're a cheery and positive teenager that never misses a chance to hang out with your favorite group of superheroes.
Even during your bad days, you at least said hi and chat a bit before going to your room, so your behavior today as you came home from school leaves everyone worried.
They all know high school isn't easy, but it somehow never affected you much.
Maybe because you grew up in the spotlight, being a Stark.
You were the perfect combination of Pepper and Tony, smart and driven, sarcastic and confident, sweet and supportive. Really just a ray of sunshine in everyone’s life.
Everybody at Midtown High knows who you are and every student you meet gets surprised by how nice you are to anyone that approaches you, everyone expecting you to be a stuck up bitch.
You talk to and befriend anybody who’s nice to you, but you spend most of your time with Peter, Ned and MJ.
Speaking of which, while everybody stares at the door you just disappeared through, Peter enters the room through the window, a feat that not everyone is used to yet.
"Damn it, bug boy, stop doing that!" Sam almost yells, never failing to get startled by his abrupt entrances.
"Sorry, Mr. Falcon, sir." he says sheepishly while Bucky snickers like every other time, but before they can start bickering like always, Tony addresses Peter.
"What’s wrong with my daughter, Spider-ling?" he says in a serious tone, despite the nickname he can’t seem to get tired of.
"I don’t know, Mr. Stark. She was fine during lunch, but when school ended she was nowhere to be seen. We were suppose to meet at the exit like always but she rushed home alone. That’s why I’m here, I was worried." the more Peter talks the more Tony gets worried.
It wasn’t like you to not show up to do something you planned to do with someone else, let alone without giving a reason or at least a warning first.
Tony has heard enough so he gets up from his seat and walks towards your room, knocking twice, then once and then three times fast, a secret knock you came up with when you were little designed just for him.
He hears a faint ‘come in’ and, with furrowed eyebrows, he enters your room, finding you sitting on the bed hugging your knees to your chest.
Without saying a word he comes in, shuts the door and sits next to you, putting an arm around your shoulders. You shift to put your head in his chest and, when hug him as tightly as you can, Tony can actually feel his own heart breaking at the sight.
His little ray of sunshine, crying her heart and soul out and there's nothing more he can do but hold you. So he holds onto you just as tight as you are, willing himself not to let his own tears fall at seeing you so broken, needing to be strong for you.
After you calm down a bit, he can’t help himself as he asks "who do I have to kill?"
He feel a little better when he hears your little giggle against his chest, but he's still very worried and you both know he wasn’t entirely kidding.
He doesn’t rush you into talking, giving you time to put together your thoughts before starting to explain.
"I’ve been seeing someone..." you start, sitting up straight, sniffling, and he already doesn't like where this is going. "I’m sorry I haven’t said anything, mom knows though…"
"Of course she does." he mumbles, a little offended you would tell her and not him, and Tony Stark was never one to not voice his thoughts. "Why didn’t you tell me?" he was clearly hurt, pouting a bit just to amuse you. You giggle again as you answer.
"I’m sorry, but I know what you would’ve said: ‘You’re not allowed to date until you’re 65’" you try to imitate him with a deep voice that makes him chuckle.
"Damn right you can’t!" He says and you lighten up a little at his laughter and keep talking.
"I was going to introduce you soon, I swear! But then…" your smile falls and you can’t stop the few tears that escape. "Today, while I was waiting on Peter, I saw him…"
You trail off and he holds your hand giving you an encouraging squeeze but still not pushing you. Then, in the smallest voice he’d ever heard you use, you finish your sentence. "He was kissing another girl…"
He wished you hadn’t finished the sentence. You start crying again, quieter than before, but it still broke Tony’s heart.
"Oh, honey…" He wraps his arms around you again, mentally planning how to kill and dispose of the body of the little prick, when he hears you again, your voice barely a whisper.
"It hurts, dad… why does it hurt so much?" you still couldn’t stop crying, barely able to finish the sentence.
"I know, Tinkerbell." The use of your childhood nickname made you smile against the tears, the memory of how it came to be coming to the forefront of your mind.
You were about 6 years old, watching Peter Pan for the first time with your parents, when you started giggling uncontrollably.
Your parents gave you a funny look, expecting you to be sad at the part where Tinkerbell was dying and worried they were raising a little psychopath.
"What are you laughing at, Junior?" much to Pepper’s displeasure Tony had started calling you that, sustaining that you were turning out to be just like a little version of him.
Your mom disagreed, but was slowly changing her mind, especially after what little six year old you said next.
"Daddy’s just like Tinkerbell: if she doesn’t get attention he dies!" you got out between giggles, making Pepper almost double over laughing as Tony started a tickle attack, a fake offended look on his face.
After that your dad started calling you Tinkerbell, not able to let go of your first sarcastic comment, against him of all people, but secretly very proud.
You were brought back to the present by your dad’s words as he started rubbing your back.
"I know it hurts now, but it’s gonna get better, I promise. Your first heartbreak is never easy, but the good news is you have your whole life ahead of you to find a guy smart enough to understand how lucky he is to be loved by you and never let you go."
Now, Tony Stark is many things.
He’s a genius, billionaire, former playboy and philanthropist. He’s an entrepreneur, a superhero, a savior. He’s a role model, a caring friend and doting husband.
But, at this very moment, you can’t help but be proud to call him your father.
You wish you could tell him that at the moment, but you can’t find the voice to speak so you make a mental note to tell him later. Right now all you can do is hug him so tight you’re not entirely sure he’s able to breathe, but he doesn’t make any attempts to make you let go.
The next couple of hours are spent between hugs, words of encouragement and Tony trying everything he can to make you laugh.
When he succeeds in lifting your spirits, you both make your way to the living room where all of the Avengers are now, Pepper included. You sit next to her and she wraps her arm around you, having already been updated on the situation, of course.
Everyone else seemed to have come to a mutual understanding of not pressing the matter, knowing you’ll open up when you’re ready and not wanting to upset you again now that you’re back to your cheery self.
You’re glad nobody’s asking any questions, acting like nothing happened, exactly what you need right now.
You spend the rest of the day with your family, forgetting all about your broken heart, realizing you’re better off without him.
At one point your dad whispers to you "I still need the name of the little jerk, so I can fuck him up" and you can’t help but laugh, more glad than ever to be lucky enough to be a Stark.

a/n: me writing this while completely burnt out from school

“Kid.” Tony bumped the door of your bedroom open with his hip, holding a bag of McDonald’s in each hand and staring at you patiently. You said nothing, just set down your homework and sat up from your bed. “It’ll be there when we’re done. There’s ice cream in the fridge, too.” Your dad motioned for you to come along and took you to the living room where the movie you were dying to see—which didn’t come out for another month—was currently paused on your screen.
“Really?” You chuckled and sat down on the couch. “Did you call the director? Again?”
“Me and him go way back, he’ll do whatever I ask him. Ready?” Tony asked, just as he heard the front door open. “Oh, crap, I thought she was working late.”
“It is late.” Pepper overheard him and kissed him on the forehead as she walked by. “You better have gotten me some food, too.” You and your dad laughed, but his laughter was more of remorse as he handed his bag off to her. “Y/N, are you excited? I wish I had study breaks like this when I was in school.”
“Shh. Sh. Sh. The movie’s starting.” Tony lowly bothered her as he pressed play and she sat beside him. “Time to relax.”

Thinking about how aggressively protective over you dad!Tony is. Like whenever someone is fucking mean or rude to you, or generally gives you trouble like... you have to laugh. Cause you know what's coming. You were out running some errands (aka picking up falafel and shwarma for you, your dad, Peter, and Harley) when you ducked into a cute little boutique on the way. You saw a pair of sunglasses that were so cute, but upon further investigation, they had weird designs all along the sides. You laugh at how terrible it looks and get a picture to show your dad when you get back. You're about to leave when some stupid fucking Paul Blart mall cop drags you into the back of the store and accuses you of shoplifting. You just laugh. You laugh and ask Jarvis to call your dad. Knockoff Paul blart is trying to scare you into confessing to something you didn't do, threatening you with jail time and telling you your parents can't bail you out now, it's too late for that. You record part of the conversation and send it to your dad. About 0.0000001 second later you get a notification that he's on his way. You hear his repulsors outside and moments later he's storming into the back of the boutique.
"Okay, chachi, you've got about three seconds to explain to me what the hell you think you're doing here."
"Sir, are you the father of-"
"Three..."
"O-of this-"
"Two..."
"-was suspected to be shoplifting-"
"And you're done!"
You watch with a barely repressed laugh as your dad TEARS into this motherfucker. Like he is not holding back in he slightest. Tony KNOWS his kid. There is not a shadow of a doubt in his mind that this is a result of some miserable little man on a powertrip who couldn't get into cop school. And Tony TELLS HIM that to his fucking face. You watch a sad, angry little man reduced to tears after being roasted to within an inch of his life by your dad. It's giving "you pathetic, short little man. you don't have any friends, or any family, or any LAND." By the time he's finally done, you dad looks the guy dead in the eye ad tells him with more confidence that paul blart has ever felt in his life
"If you're lucky, maybe you'll be scrubbing my floors with a toothbrush. Maybe."
Tony ushers you out of there, ordering some food and coffee and asking Jarvis to cancel the next chunk of scheduled events so he can spend some time with you, make sure you're okay. He may or may not have also bought that little boutique, because when someone messes with his kid, Tony does NOT let it slide.

Three Weeks.
“Dad?!” You ran towards the ship that landed in your back garden, your dad stood there with Pepper in his fragile arms. He lifted his head, a sigh of relief as he watched you getting closer. His little girl is safe. “Where’s Pete?” His expression changed within an instant, he scanned every inch of your face for a sign. Your eyes were red and puffy. Your face is slimmer than when he last saw you. Thankfully, not as slim as he had gotten. He watched your eyes flickering between the ship, himself and Nebula. He knew you’d already lost one brother, now, he’s witnessing your realisation of losing the other.
“I’m sorry, kid.” He whimpered as your eyes began to tear up as you looked into his own. Within a second, Steve had you nestled into his chest. Not another one, you didn’t think your mind or body could handle any more grief. As soon as your face hit Steves's chest and your body collapsed in his arms, for what felt like the millionth time in three weeks, you let out an uncontrollable scream. Your knees gave way, Steve did not let you fall. Instead, he lifted you and carried you back to your room in the compound.
Once in your room, Steve lay you down on your bed. He didn’t want to leave you, he had watched you grow up since you were 16, from a smart teenager with more compassion than himself at times. To, a resourceful, understanding young woman. He wanted to protect you more now than ever. Shield you away so nothing more could hurt you. Your dad felt the same, it was painful for him to watch Steve carry you to your room instead of him. His weak frame makes it difficult to keep himself up, never mind you.
Your room was like any other basic grey bedroom at the compound. However, you had Vision help you drape fairy lights and ivy all over the walls. Polaroids attached to the strings with clothing pegs, and images of you with various team members looking down at you. Over the last three weeks, if you weren’t crying, you were looking over all these photos. Remembering each loved one as they were and hoping you’ll see them again.
It broke your heart for years that you were never able to add your joyful times with Bucky to your walls. Those were kept in a locked box inside your wardrobe. Polaroids of cuddles in a hut, Bucky throwing around hay with only one arm, even a few x-rated ones which you hoped to Odin no one else ever saw. They were all of Bucky, the ones of yourself were kept with him in Wakanda. And, then there were your letters. There have been a few nights since they all vanished that you’ve fallen asleep surrounded by his handwriting.
Steve stayed with you until your sobs had stopped and you cried yourself to sleep. You didn’t hear him leave, your dreams clouded with memories. Memories of Bucky. Even in your sleep, you could not hide your love and grief for him.
Meet Cute.
You sat in the office watching over the security cameras with Steve, not believing they were treating another human this way. He was locked within a box, strapped down. All he had was a table and a chair in front of it. And, it wasn’t even for him to use. Some interrogator was sat there, asking him questions about his home. You were listening to everything.
You rose to your feet when the power went out, following Steve and Sam to find Bucky. Ignoring your dad's yelling. You started to believe Steve’s theory regarding someone framing his friend. Yes, they say ‘Why did he run if he's innocent?’ But, wouldn’t anyone run if they had someone in a blue soldier uniform with an indestructible shield, someone in a bulletproof catsuit and a guy flying around with mechanical wings chasing them? You knew you would. And, you were someone who had an outfit fitting to that scenario.
~
His head turns, Bucky or The Winter Soldier you weren’t sure who made direct eye contact with you. Your breath hitched as he dropped the guard currently in a chokehold and made his way towards you. You didn’t move. A hand came up to your throat, pinning you against the wall, tightening by the second. You noticed he hadn’t used his left arm, the silver metal never once touched your skin.
“James? Sorry, I-I know you like to be called B-Bucky but I don’t feel like I know y-you well enough.” You shuttered as his grip grew tighter. “I’m Y/N,” Placing your bare hand onto his wrist against his bare skin, you felt the grip slackening. “I won’t hurt you.” His grip was almost light enough for you to find your feet on the ground again, until…
“Put her down.” Both of your heads turned to where the voice came from, your dad. Palm raised, repulsor ready. You mouthed “no” over and over to him, feeling the grip tighten the longer he stood there. Your dad hits Bucky with a stun-blast which in turn causes him to drop you to the floor. Covering your ears, you sat down with your legs pulled up covering your face. You felt a weight on top of you as another blast went off. Looking up, he was staring down at you as he covered you from your dad’s blasts. Becoming your human shield.
The blasting stopped, Bucky stood up and pounded towards your dad, throwing punches. Your dad blocked almost most of them. He gave as much as he got to.
“Get out of here now!” Your dad yelled at you. You didn’t have your suit, you were no match to The Winter Soldier, it was the safest option. You stood up, legs shaking, as you watched them fight. “Now! Y/N! Go!” He continued to yell as Bucky’s eyes once again found yours. You wanted to stay, something telling you he needed someone to stay.
But, you ran.
Cheeseburgers.
When you woke up, you pulled out your burner phone. You only had three numbers saved, Vision (Baby Brother), Wanda Maximoff (BFF), and James Buchanan Barnes (Old Man). Instinctually calling the number under the name “Old Man” you hoped the ringing would stop and you’d hear his voice. “Hey, Doll.” Nothing. You started to sob as the ringing continued.
You didn’t hear him opening your door and appearing through the gap, he watched you sobbing with the phone pressed against your cheek.
“Hey Kid,” he choked after a beat, snapping out of your trance and hanging the phone up. “Who are you calling?” You shake your head in response, you can’t break the Bucky news to him just yet.
“No one you need to be concerned about, Dad,” giving him a weak smile, he wouldn’t have been concerned, he would have been angry. His little girl, his legacy, is in love with the man who killed his parents and broke his team up. Where did he go so wrong? You got up and helped him further into your room. “How are you feeling?” You lay him on your bed, getting him comfy with all your pillows and throws.
“Oh, never been better,” he joked as he tried to lift himself. “You know, had a planet thrown at me then got stranded in space for three weeks.” You helped him position himself better before getting into your bed and cuddling up to your dad. You didn’t realise until right now just how much you missed him and his humour.
“I’m glad you’re home,” you squeezed his hand while giving him another weak smile. “It’s been far too quiet around here.”
“You can’t get rid of me that easily.” He smiled at you, squeezing your hand back, and then sighed. “We should order cheeseburgers.” You let yourself have a small laugh, for the first time in three weeks.
