a pet headcanon of mine is that after they're done with the sigil removal, emira expands her horizons and starts studying the psychological side of healing, pulling in some resources from the human realm and combining it with boiling isles methods (i imagine the field of psychology in the boiling isles, while existent, was often pushed aside as just a lesser branch of the healing coven back when belos was in charge. i do imagine there's often magic like the memory tweezers involved)

and i imagine she ends up focusing in on like, art therapy and self-expression, because she knows how important that can be, after having her individuality stifled so hard when she was young

Sing Story Board Thoughts!!!

Ok, ok, ok, my friend @stinkyhyena9000 just sent me this and it’s so adorable I love it so much!!

And I have a few thoughts!

One: MARCUS IS SO POLITE I LOVE IT!!!! This isn’t a huge surprise considering the fact that Johnny has manners essentially coming out of his ears, but it’s still so cute that that’s clearly where he got it from.

Two: More slang! We have expanded the use of British slang to now include “love” and I love it. Also Marcus is known for being punctual!! As in, he’s always on time!! That would be a super cute trait to see Johnny have like his dad as well.

Three: MARCUS’S REACTION TO GETTING A PHONE CALL FROM HIS SON IS SO CUTE!!! He’s so happy to hear from him and wants to immediately hear about whatever he’s up to. And instantly tells everyone within earshot that he got a call from him! Marcus is #1 dad of the years right there, love that. And the instant shift in his tone when he realises something is wrong is so realistic!

Four: The fact the show had already been physically scrapped is so much more realistic. Like, with that public of a firing? I wouldn’t be surprised if they had to break in too.

Five: Just Darius on that box. Just.. Darius. That is somehow the most extra thing he would have done all movie.

Six: WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS KEEPS LETTING GUNTER OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY?!?!?

Seven: The dancers sneaking in through the side door is still perfection because they had to have snuck out to be there. Still sad we don’t see that phone call tho.

Eight: Rosita’s smile at hearing new ideas for her role... it’s heart-melting, I swear.

Nine: Ok, so I’ve talked a bit about how Marcus is always hugging Johnny right? Like, he doesn’t do it with Stan and Barry so it’s clearly like a father-son thing for him. And the fact that the moment he sees Nooshy, Marcus instantly hugs her is the most damning evidence in my opinion of this man just going “Ah yes, another kid. Always wanted one of those!” Like Nooshy was adopting in two frames, no hesitation at all. Hugs=adoption in Sing and no one can convince me otherwise at this point.

Ten: Ryan (my sweet baby, my precious, favourite child) bringing the staffs in!!! Like so, they weren’t in the trash with the rest of the props? Does that mean Klaus had them? Did Ryan legit steal those from Klaus?? I love this boy more and more I swear. He just went “oh well, probably gonna get fired anyway, might as well help Johnny” and I love that for him.

Alright so the TOH brainrot has come back in full force after the finale came out so now i too am making one of them lists of things that i liked/stuck out to me. Also sorry if this ends up just being a bunch of incoherent nonsense

HOLY SHIT TITAN!LUZ. the design is so cool what more can i say. Furthermore,

HOLY FUCK LUZ DIED????? i was so not expecting that and good lord was it heartbreaking. Eda and King's reaction to Luz's death were also heartbreaking, and so was the Collector finally realizing what death really is. And oh my god puppet!Camila crying as the balls of light pass by her, showing us that she has had the realization that her daughter died. After the grief and trauma of losing Manny, Camila and Luz had a heart to heart which made their bond stronger than ever, only for Camila to lose Luz aswell.

LUZ SAID THE THING! NOW EAT THIS SUCKAAAAAA!!!!!

THE BOILING ISLES IS BIGENDER BABY! i honestly love the titan so much now. His bad girl coven t-shirt and glyph pants and dad-bod are absolutely everything. (Also what's with the little hooty worm sticking out of her eye socket??)

The raeda in this episode was IMMACULATE. I was really hoping for a kiss but i'm still happy with what WAD gave us. The loving stares, Raine's absolute joy when Eda and Titan!Luz came to their rescue in the throne room, the hugs and nuzzles, the cuddling in their new nest, etc. They seem so relaxed and happy at the end. The world has been saved and now they can finally live their lives together and rekindle their relationship. Oh and how could i forget the EARRING SWAP!! they're wearing eachother's earrings!!! I've seen quite a few ppl interpreting the exchanging of earrings/jewelry as a marriage custom in the demon realm, implying that Eda and Raine are married in the timeskip. I never cared much for the idea of raeda getting married but you know what? I like this headcanon.

Hunter is a palisman carver! And he has a new palisman! Apparently the little blue jay's name is Waffles and that's just adorable.

Eda's hook arm! Also just everyone's new outfits/appearances in general. I love Raine's fully white hair and their scars and their outfit just oozes gender. I love Luz's outfit and punk eyeliner. I love Amity's hairstyle. I love how Lilith kept her short ginger hairstyle. I love Gus's new hair and his little beard. I love Willow's shorter hair and sporty outfit. Mattholomule has a real mustache now!

Fuck yeah they figured out how to remove sigils so now the BI residents can do magic like the Titan really intended!

Aladarius canon??

Everyone reuniting with their dads. Amity running to Alador whilst Odalia just stands at the side with an annoyed face. Fucking priceless. Willow's dads kissed on screen! Hunter thinking no one would be there for him only for Darius and Eberwolf to show up and accept him into their family. my heart 😭❤️

Eda and Camila finally got to meet!

Luz reuniting with King and Eda made me sob so unbelievably hard.

Luz and Vee graduated together!

Luz goes to college in the demon realm!

I thought she was giving all her Azura stuff away at first but i think she's actually bringing it all with her to college.

I love everything about Luz's quinceañera (or should i say KING-ceañera)

I love the very last part where every character we've come to know and love over these 3 wonderful years (except Odalia lmfao) say "Byeee!" to the audience. What a perfect way to end this series.

Taking a second to focus on my favorite background bits of this wonderful beautiful gigantic cast picture by Dresden Douglas (their Tumblr is "dresdoodles" give them some love!!! I did not tag them here so I'm not hitting them with a notification full of my stupid observations haha)

Obviously gotta go to Darius & Eber first. Look at the utter disgust upon Darius' face even touching Hooty (or maybe it's directed at Eber for being willing to bite Hooty), meanwhile Eber is bitebiteclawmaim-ing Hooty but despite the claw marks they seem to be ineffective. I wonder how much of Eber's attacking is for his own safety/curiosity vs trying to save his bestie Darius from the Ick™. Skara & Viney (& Puddles)! My girls! They're wearing their Emerald Entrails uniforms! Personally I think they're a cute ship but even platonically I love how different they are yet have become their own little duo within the flyer derby team

Gilbert & Harvey Park and Perry Porter, the Dads. So Perry focusing on work still even in this moment is condemnable honestly, dude is tangled in a coil of Hooty & is like "I need to report on this". Meanwhile Harvey has big watery eyes & Gilbert has a soft smile. I love the detail that Gilbert appears to be carrying Harvey, it matches with him being a construction witch (so probably fit) & also it's a funny reflection to Willow with her looking more like Gilbert & also being the Buff™ friend

Mattholomule & his big bro Steve!! Rip Steve this isn't the first time -- or even second time -- Hooty's taken him out, and it probably won't be the last. I love getting the brothers next to each other, helps show how similar they look. Matty is fairing better than Steve but he seems to be struggling himself. That's fair, boys, Hooty is certainly unpredictable

Grandma lesbians made it, good for them

You know that Gwen&Dell are looking at how happy their daughters & grandkids all are, like you know the scene before then is a dream come true kinda soft feeling that they've wanted for their daughters for decades

I love the fond expression on Emira's face looking at Edric, vs the confusion/surprised one on Alador's face. Edric's fine tho look at him he's having fun. Odalia can't even look at her family and is just absolutely scowling, but Kikimora is right beside her so horrible trash women Odalimora canon

You KNOW that Willow fanboy is shouting "WOooOOOooo GO WILLOW" seeing her & Hunter together. I think it's extra funny Boscha is right next to him looking like she's sucked on a lemon with Kat shrugging at Amelia but neither looking surprised by Boscha's antics. (as someone who always hated bos//low it's just such funny staging imo, I know it's probably not that but it's still funny)

Tags: discussion death of parental figures, childhood rejection, not canon compliant, angst got dialled up to 11, this was all made pre-reveal of the canon timeline, Highschool!David/Darlin, just be prepared to understand that I put my darlin through some shit.

Darlin who turns 13 and finds out they're a shifter. Their local department branch threatens to take them from their parents if they cannot find a pack. Their parents pack some bags and go looking

Darlin who was rejected from every other pack because they were seen as too much of a liability to be introduced to any pack. Packs either couldn't accept new shifters, didn't want to train a humanborn shifter, didn't want to accept an autistic child into the pack or simply made up excuses not to take Darlin in.

Darlin who watches their parents struggle with getting them into a pack, driving from state to state, trying to learn about magic and keep their child safe as they search for a place to help them develop as a shifter.

Darlin who leanred to use their magic on their own at a young age so they weren't a burden to potential packs who could take them in.

Darlin whose parents, Darius and Renko Lancer fought tooth and nail with Gabe Shaw and Frank Talbot to get their kid into a pack despite not being empowered.

Darlin whose family is accepted and took up residence at the edge of pack territory in a log cabin. They make it work

Darlin who's introduced to the pack at 15, it has been two years since Darren Lancer first found out he was a shifter and he is better at using his magic than most of the adults in the pack. He is seen as a prodigy and they quickly make friends with David, Milo and Asher. They are finally given a place to be themselves and have friends.

Darren has stayed with the pack for six months when they get the call during class that their parents were involved in an accident in their home. He runs home immediately and sees the scene. They learn that a rival pack attacked their home for being too close to their territory at the boundary of the shaw pack. Their parents fu=ought back and were killed in the incident. The department promises to look into the matter. The case runs cold.

Darren stays a month in his parents' cabin after their deaths. Nothing was touched. Darren has not cleaned it since their parents died. There is dried blood in some spots where the department did not reach. The smell of iron fills Darren's lungs and he has not been to school since. There are rumours about Darren spread by some of the adults of the pack. They think Darren has broken psychologically, they think that Darren is sick and they eventually call the authorities to have Darren taken out of the pack and placed in foster care. It is not successful and Gabe Shaw intervenes. A week after, Darren is placed under the care of Marie and Colm Greer. He is not officially adopted and has refuted the option of adoption. He is sixteen when he arrives into their home, his birthday passed and he didn't tell anyone. He instead spent it alone, cleaning his parents' cabin.

Darren Lancer gets into a fight with Christian after he takes their dad's jacket from them to put it to wash. He has a broken nose and a scar on his chest. The pack disapproves of their actions and threatens removal. Gabe however shows Darren how to clean and maintain leather jackets 1 month and 2 weeks after the death of their parents.

The department has Darren in holding after they were caught fighting with the rival pack that attacked their parents. Five wolves have had their limbs mangled and may not walk well again, Two wolves are in critical condition and a wolf is too traumatised to give testimony. They are found out to be the same wolves that attacked Darren's parents and Gabe intervenes to keep Darren out of trouble 1 month 3 weeks after the death of their parents.

Marie scolds Darren and admits them into therapy. Darren and Milo grow closer as a result of Colm's bad habits worsening. A month after the death of their parents, as marie cries alone in the kitchen, Darren sits next to her and hugs her. 2 months after feeling robbed, Darren feels connected to the Greers.

Darren starts to learn guitar and music as an outlet after being suggested by his therapist. Marie reminds Milo and Darren to keep it down a few nights but she's glad to see that they're getting along better. Darren rejoins pack meetings and social gatherings with the pack 3 months after the death of their parents. David makes friends with them much to the disapproval of the rest of the pack's adults. Gabe invites Darren over for dinner.

4 months after, Darren is officially dating David Shaw. Gabe invites Darren over again, and again, and again. Marie has taught Darren how to cook, clean and how to trust. She has taught him how to defend himself emotionally and physically. Gabe has taught Darren how to run free in the forests nearby as a wolf, he's taught Darren how to tussle and David is there to learn with him. Milo, David and Asher invite Darren to hang out regularly. Milo and Asher feign disgust seeing them kiss but they're glad seeing them both happy. David says he loves them and Darren isn't shy to say it too.

Darren turns 17 and David asks him to senior prom. It's one of the best nights he's had. They dance with Milo and pull stunts with Asher but the final dance is reserved for David before they leave the dance and spend the rest of the night together. It's been 5 months and Darren feels at peace.

The basic concept of this au would be the hagsquad would be in their late teens (17-19) and just abt to graduate from Hexside and get up to shenanigans.

Basic things to note:

1. Alador and Darius are dating, but have to keep it under wraps because Alador's parents are making him date Odalia

2. Eda had been cursed in this, but she hasn't attacked her dad yet so it's mostly a minor thing

3. Perry Porter will probably be a pretty minor character since there isn't really much to his character in canon (if anyone has hcs abt teenage Perry please let me know!!)

4. Ships in this au will be: Alador/Darius, Raine/Eda, toxic!Alador/Odalia and Bocha's moms

5. Odalia will not be portrayed very favourably in this, sorry!!

I genuinely hate the way the fandom treats Alador and I feel like the show only redeemed him because that’s what the fandom wanted (same with implying Aladarius). People like to act like they were critical of Alador when he first physically debuted but really people immediately jumped on infantilizing him for showing signs of being neurodivergent and downplaying his role in abusing Amity, Edric, and Emira. People forget that neglect is also a form of abuse and that’s why so many parents are able to get away with neglecting their children in real life, and it’s especially bad because white dads neglecting their children is already so normalized in society so having Alador be forgiven by doing the bare minimum, and it’s barely that since he never actually apologized to his children for abusing them, is very harmful. Really, all he did was not be on Belos’ side in the end, which, if the main crux of Alador being redeemed was that Odalia became considerably worse (because her knowing about the Day of Unity genuinely does not make any sense) then he did not become a better person, just better by comparison.

I also hate how the fandom acts like common headcanons of Alador, Darius, and Odalia’s past are canon but they’re not. There’s nothing that’s been shown in the show or said by the crew that hints at Odalia stealing Alador from Darius when they were younger, or that Alador and Odalia were a forced marriage, or that they only got married for business purposes but people treat this like it’s true and it’s so annoying because it completely ignores what we’ve actually seen and been told, which is that Alador and Odalia were high school sweethearts and that all three of them looked to be happy as a friend group in the past. Head canons are fine, but people get made any time someone points out that they are just fanon.

Also, the way people talk about Alador being abused by Odalia (which I’m pretty sure was also put in the show just because that’s what the fandom wanted because in the first episode Alador and Odalia physically debuted in the way they act around each other doesn’t make any sense if Odalia has been abusing Alador this whole time) makes me feel sick because it’s obvious that people don’t know how to act when they see a husband being abused by his wife. This is especially obvious with the way people talk about who had the Blight last name originally and who changed it after marriage. A lot of the fandom head canons Alador as changing his name and it feels like the only reason they say this is to feminize him because they can’t wrap their head around the possibility that a man could be abused by a woman, which is another big problem is society.

i think this is more of an observation and i hope that doesn't make me sound nitpicky or too ranty or whatever.

but neither toh or spop have main mlm pairings.

like there ARE mlm ships in both shows, but they're in the background for the most part. g/ustholomule never rlly became canon, but they had a rivals to friends thing there, which could be compared to l/umity in a way. but sadly it's a very underrated ship (especially considering both characters are poc). ala/darius is mostly implied, you never see these two directly talking to each other if i'm not mistaken, it's usually alador and/or darius complaining about the other when they're not in the same place. the show hints at the ship in the very last episode of the series, but we never know if they got into a relationship or not.

spop is the same, bow's dads are cute but they barely show up in the series. kyle was confirmed to have a crush on rogelio, but they're also just in the background for most of their screentime (and like i always say, rogelio never quite defended kyle from being bullied). and then the creator decided to shove lonnie there bc spop is allergic to single characters.

i don't know, i just wanted to talk about this pattern. it's odd seeing mlm pairings not getting enough screentime or development in these obviously queer shows (i'm still glad we got l/umity and r/aeda, don't get me wrong!). especially considering some of the characters i mentioned here are poc.
