freaks out to start with

especially if it's baby #1 and he's already terrified about being a dad

he's not upset about it, because it's uncontrollable obviously, and there's nothing more he wants than a baby so as long as they're healthy, he couldn't care less about their gender

but he's still scared

everyone's confused because he's a guy so surely he's going to be able to relate to a son more than a daughter ??

until he sadly confides in his wife and tells her his fears come from not having a great childhood and knowing he won't be able to relate to the kid completely anyway but at least if it was a girl, his wife could

but he's a little more reassured when he gets told the baby is going to think he's the coolest regardless of the fact he got bullied in school and can't play sports

he loves the baby so much !!

not that it's directly related to the baby being a boy, but Spence cannot get over how little baby Reid is, with 10 perfect tiny fingers and lots of brown hair

and baby Reid starts off looking lots like his mom as a baby, but he very quickly changes to look exactly like his dad

and he's an expert at using his big brown eyes to get exactly what he wants out of Spencer, even at a few months old

Spencer insists on having boys days out

baby boy Reid gets shown off like it's going out of style, Spencer's a bragger any chance he can get and he brings his son into the BAU lots (also because Penelope insists on it)

The nickname 'Pretty Boy' is no longer Spencer's and solely belongs to little Reid

Spencer starts off with just matching black converse for his baby, but he quickly devolves and before his wife can stop him, the kid's closet is full of sweater vests, cardigans and ties

and Spencer's not afraid to match with him all the time

Jack Hotchner loves Captian America, Henry LaMontagne loves Spiderman, and baby boy Reid loves Batman

So Spencer ends up going as Joker one year for Halloween

but before the Halloween baby boy Reid actually had a say in, Spencer frequently put him in elaborate costumes

baby boy Reid also loves Scooby Doo but he's confused because his dad looks like Shaggy but he acts like Velma

one day, Spencer comes home with a haircut and it's much shorter than it used to be and 3 year old baby Reid starts crying like uncontrollable sobs because he wants his hair to be the same as his dad's but now his dad has gone and cut it and ruined everything

but then he's so happy when he gets it cut just like Spencer and a lollipop

totally coaches soccer and his wife cannot get over how hilarious he looks trying to explain complex, mathematical plays to a bunch of 5 year olds who score more points for the other team than for themselves

Spencer actually learns to ski when he freaks out about his 7 year old being on the mountain by himself

although, he quickly learns to stress less about him getting injured because little Reid is fearless
