Any unconventional headcanons you have or seen over the years that you really liked? I love TF2 headcanons but feel like they're getting a bit homogenized as the fandom shrinks and as less new canon material comes out. Thanks in advance ^^

I haven’t actually been in the fandom very long (I didn’t even know TF2 existed until last August), but I have seen some cool, lesser known headcanons since I’ve been here! Here’s some favorites in no particular order:

- Scout’s mother used to be a spy, and that’s how she met Spy himself: on the job. She’s definitely badass enough for that to be true. 

- Any and all LGBT headcanons are great, but a favorite of mine that I saw recently was that Pyro is a butch lesbian. Of course, nonbinary Pyro is my own personal headcanon but that’s much more commonly accepted. Another one I saw recently was that Scout is a butch trans woman, which is a great concept. 

- I personally have the headcanon that Medic is Jewish, and I have also seen some headcanons that Scout, Heavy, and potentially others are Jewish as well.

- I’m not sure how uncommon this one is, but there’s a headcanon that Scout is dyslexic and that’s why he has so much trouble reading. On top of that, he has ADHD which makes it even harder for him to sit still and focus on the text. 

- There’s so many cool and diverse headcanons about what Pyro looks like under the mask, but some of the most fun ones are where Pyro isn’t even human. I’ve seen them portrayed as a demon, an angel, a fairy, a fire spirit, etc. I’ve also seen it thrown out there that Pyro is some sort of spirit haunting the suit; it functions as their body and there isn’t even anything inside. 

- I’ve read a couple fics where Engineer has a wife and family back home, and it’s really sweet to think about him being a dad. You just know he’d carry pictures of his kids with him everywhere and call them any chance he got.
