While on Peacock+, I saw a James McAvoy project called My Son and the synopsis is about his 7 year old son being kidnapped. To me, it was like, that sounds like a Cherik and Quickson fic idea.
With both Charles and Erik being feral unstoppable dads getting their son back from presumedly Shaw.
Thanks @bitsofboots for sending me this incredible image, because I just couldn't help but turn it into a chaotic dadneto comic as soon as I saw it 🤣! Hope you enjoy!
im pretty sure this is just a popular head canon that Charles cant really read Peter's mind because of his superspeed but I love thinking about it because like imagine:
You're Erik Lehnsherr and you literally wear a helmet to make sure Charles can't control you and it's like a big deal for you and then your son comes along and already has this ability built into his mutation. you mad bro. you jelly?
Erik and Charles are happily married and they are raising Wanda, Peter, Lorna, Nina, and David and they are working together at the school (real not clickbait)
headcanon: Erik making Peter metal fidget toys to help him focus more during xmen meetings since he knows it’s really hard for Peter not to use his powers during them
Erik and Charles enjoying a nice game of Chess with cocktails. Explosion in the background. Erik drinks his martini
Hank: (Panic state) What the FUCK was that?
Erik: No need to worry its just Peter and David doing the typical bonding activities.
Charles: If you're wondering Hank, neither of them are injured.
Hank: But the explosion?!?!?
theres something positively satisfying about how there are no fics where Peter tells Erik that they're family and Erik turns him away. Sure he might need a breather for the revelation. But he never turns Peter away. Family is just so integral to what Erik is. Erik rejecting family is unthinkable.
While I always enjoy headcanons where Erik is clueless about Peter being his son, I'm 100% convinced the point of Peter and Erik's scene in Apocalypse where Peter says "I'm here for my family too" *is* Erik finding out. He's not stupid and that sweet baby looking up at him with puppy eyes while Mystique waxes on about him still having family...Yeah Erik got emotional as he looked at his son and I will die on that hill. Even him asking pointedly "what about you?" It makes sense for a speedster to transport Mystique where she needs to go. He's already suspecting when he asks that question. Then Peter flounders. Obvious.
It certainly isn't a satisfying conversation, and it is nowhere near being a proper conclusion for that plot thread, but he definitely knew that was his son by the end of that scene.
AND, he would remember Peter rescuing him from the Pentagon (pretty memorable), where Peter straight up said his mom had been with a guy fitting Erik's description.
And one more thing: Peter's leg being broken and the camera cutting to Erik *reacting* to it...
There's just no way he didn't know.
Aaaaand that is the story of what let's me sleep at night. Thanks for listening.
