Merry Christmas, Eri-chan

Summary: Day 1 - July 26 - Eri: Starting things off pretty small. Make whatever you want, as long as Aizawa is being parental to specifically Eri.

Aizawa nor Hizashi usually put up a fight about working on Christmas. They have five jobs between the two of them, most days they’re working. Christmas wasn’t a holiday they held in high regard, usually getting each other a gift and going about the rest of the day.

This year, with Hitoshi and Eri, they’ve decided to decorate their place. Hizashi went out and bought a large tree, gathering all of his old Christmas decorations from his moms’ house and making sure the entire house looked perfect. Aizawa didn’t really care, but seeing Eri’s face light up and Hitoshi smile at the decorations made it all worth the while.

He just wished Hizashi was here to enjoy it.

Every Christmas Eve, Present Mic would get on his radio show, talking to children and teens until dawn. He’d listen to their worries, sending out heroes if needed be. He was a stable figure in many children’s lives and he couldn’t get off, no matter how badly he wanted to.

That leaves Aizawa alone with their two kids and cat. Hitoshi wears an ugly Christmas sweater, playing emo band covers of classic Christmas songs. Eri is decked out in red and green striped pajamas, ready for Santa to come and bring her presents. Aizawa doesn’t look particularly festive, except for the Santa hat Eri made him wear.

“Hi-to-shi! Those were meant for Santa !” Eri whines, watching her brother grab a cookie, “Daddy! Hitoshi’s stealing !”

Aizawa has the end of term papers from his homeroom to grade. Though, he sees his daughter pleading at him with wide eyes and the papers are now the farthest from his mind.

Getting off the couch, he heads to Eri, picking her up, “Now Eri, what happened?”

“Hitoshi took a cookie ! He stole the cookie! They were meant for Santa !” Eri recounts, exaggerating the issue.

Aizawa, playing along, looks at the plate, then at Hitoshi. The cookie is long gone, eaten by Hitoshi already. He asks Eri, “Are you sure it was him?”

“Uh-huh!” Eri nods, “I watched him take it, then eat it!”

“Did you eat the cookie?” Aizawa asks Hitoshi.

“Uhh…” Hitoshi replies, “yeah.”

“See! He’s guilty! ” Aizawa tries to hold back his laugh at Eri’s declaration—she’s been in the accusatory mood ever since they’ve started watching crime shows, “ Guilty! ”

“Well then Eri,” Aizawa asks, “what happens to him, now that he’s guilty?”

“He’s on the naughty list!” Eri declares, “No presents for you! Only coal! ”

“Coal?” Hitoshi snorts.

Eri stands firm, crossing her arms, “Coal.” 

“Isn’t it too late for Santa to change his mind?” Aizawa asks, “he did get Hitoshi gifts already.”

Eri gathers her mouth to one side of her face and furrows her brows. Moments later, post contemplation, Eri’s come to a solution, “Then Hitoshi starts next year off on the naughty list!”

“The horror.” Hitoshi deadpans.

Aizawa smiles, “Yes, it’s a terrible fate.”

“Can we make more cookies?” Eri asks, “please daddy! Santa can’t be left hungry!”

Aizawa puts Eri down, following her into the kitchen, “Of course.”

Grabbing the pre-packaged sugar cookie dough, he hands the container to Eri, letting her put them on the pan. Aizawa preheats the oven, getting it ready for Eri.

“If you’re making new cookies, can I have the old ones?” Hitoshi asks, another cookie in hand.

“No!” Eri decrees, going to defend the old ones, “You’re the reason why we need new ones!”

“Eri,” Aizawa warns, “Share with your brother or you will end on the naughty list too.”

“Alright.” Eri concedes, grabbing two cookies then heading back in the kitchen. She holds it out, in front of Aizawa, “Here.”

“For me?”

“For you.”

He takes it, “thank you, Eri.”

“You are helping me make new cookies.” Eri replies, “And you’re the bestest dad ever.”

“Don’t let Hizashi hear that.” Hitoshi comments, then ducks out the room with his third cookie in hand.

“You think I’m the bestest dad ever?” Aizawa asks.

Eri clarifies, “You AND papa. You both are the bestest!”

Aizawa sniffles, “Thank you, Eri.”

“I love you!” She hugs him, then gets back to the new cookies.

“I love you too.”

The airport is old and smells like coconut lotion, and some parts are closed off for renovation. The arrival hall is quiet and dreary except for the rainbow banner that says Welcome to the Aloha State!

Dadzawa Week 2020: rules and instructions.

Hello everyone! From July 26 to August 1, this blog will reblog everyone’s art, fanfictions, moodboards, etc. that are dedicated to Dadzawa Week 2020! After all, goodness knows we need some good things from this year, don’t we?

Rules:

No NSFW. Sorry guys, but this week will be specifically PG-13 in terms of adult content. You are always allowed to make your own 18+ works, but it will not be reblogged to this account. Not to mention, this is a week dedicated to specifically parental relationships, so I’m not sure why there would be anything E-rated about it.

Keep things civil. If you wanted a content creator to dedicate a day to a different character than they chose, keep it to yourself. It’s their choice, not yours. 

Get your work out there. Be sure to submit your posts to the “#dadzawa week 2020″ tag, and to mention this blog in your content! It makes it easier to reblog. If you do not see your work on this blog on the day it should be, simply send a DM and a link of your work, and it will be reblogged should it follow all the rules.

Write what you want. Except for NSFW, you are allowed to write as much angst, fluff, hurt/comfort, etc as you want in your own content. Just be sure to put the proper warnings on them so nobody who doesn’t want to see them winds up seeing them.

Have fun! This is the most important rule. Be sure to do what you want with the instructions, and to not pressure yourself into doing anything you don’t want to do. You’ve got a month to work everything out, don’t rush, and don’t stress yourself out!

Choose any character you’d like for this day. It could be someone from 1-B, it could be a hero, it could be a villain, it could be someone completely random.

Eri closes her eyes and shuts out the voice in her head that sounds like Overhaul, that says the same words to her. He still haunts her dreams, sometimes. Every time she stands in a dark hallway, alone, and he says to her, no one is coming for you. You are not worth it.

She bites down hard on the inside of her cheek. He’s gone. In reality a little girl sits at one end of a table, waiting for someone to come home.

Eri makes a meal for Aizawa, but he comes home later than expected.

Dadzawa Week 2020, Day 6! Featuring the one and only Shinsou! Honestly, I just love the pretty much widely accepted hc that Aizawa adopts Shinsou, it warms my heart like no other.

The particular thing Shinsou is practicing here is a martial arts thing (at least it was for me when I learned taekwondo). You get into a comfortable stance, and imagine yourself holding a tea cup in the palm of one hand, and sort of rotate your hand/arm in a figure 8 movement above your head and around your waist, trying not to spill the tea. It's a pretty good exercise, and definitely recommend if you are training! Search a video for it though, or talk to an instructor to learn, my description is not comprehensive 😂
