Years ago a friend gave me a clump of this teeny weeny Daffodil. It’s the smallest I’ve ever encountered, having a bloom width of 1″. She said this is the Daffodil that all the Daffodils came from! I don’t know where she got that information but she’s a garden maniac so I concluded she might just know what she’s talking about.

It’s the most vigorous of all my Daffodils. Forming big clumps of 5″ tall brilliant green stems that almost look like super healthy grass. Unstoppable!

Now that’s one to have!

The birth flowers of March are the Daffodil and Jonquil. Why do months have 'birth flowers'? I'll tell you...I don't know. It might be a Victorian flower language thing, but for all I know it might go back a lot further. The important thing is that flowers are pretty and I like them.
