A year ago, when I began to learn digital art, I saw Kawacy tutorials and they're wonderful! I think these eyes are so big, but we all learn from our mistakes :D this is my picture drawn on the basis of the Kawacy lesson :3

You like janeway and wesley crusher, do you also like terrible things like jarjar binks, ewoks, and dagit and twiki? And jadzia dax was the most well rounded trek character ever. She could play piano, practice martial arts, lead an attack, fix an engine, play chess, cook, gymnastics and a lot of other stuff. She was the ultimate heinleinesque competent man. Sisko was also cool. He was pragmatic, not a wuss like janeway or a dreamer like picard
Dax was the the ONLY good thing about ds9 aside from dr Bashir and they fridged her. And then all ds9 was was blahblahblah Bajor blahblahblah prophets blahblahblah wormhole blah, not to mention the Ferengi emphasis which was so awful even TNG cringed at the racism. Sisko was cool, deserved a better show. And calling Janeway a wuss means you literally never watched Voyager, Captain Janeway literally fought her way back home tooth and nail and eventually died to get her crew home fight ME

PH Marines testing new amphibious assault vehicles
#PHnews: PH Marines testing new amphibious assault vehicles
MANILA -- The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) is familiarizing itself with the newly acquired and state-of-the-art amphibious assault vehicles (AAVs) that are now participating in military drills. PMC spokesperson Capt. Felix Serapio said that eight AAVs acquired from South Korean defense manufacturer Hanwha Systems, were used in the just concluded "DAGIT-PA" exercises last September. The AAVs also participated in a ship-to-shore exercise off Subic Bay, Zambales and are set to participate again in another amphibious exercise off Ternate, Cavite on October 12 as part of the ongoing "KAMANDAG" drills. "DAGIT-PA" short for "Dagat-Langit-Lupa" is a joint exercise with Air Force, Navy, and Army units and ran from September 16 to 27 while "KAMANDAG" ("Kaagapay ng mga Mandirigma ng Dagat") is scheduled from October 9 to 18 and consists of Marine units from the Philippines, United States, and Japan. "Since the AAVs are new in our inventory, we are maximizing our opportunities to put them into action because we are applying our amphibious doctrines and integrating it with the newly-acquired technology," Serapio said in a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday. The constant handling and training with these AAVs would also increase the proficiency of Marine and Navy units tasked to man these vehicles, he added. "This will also enhance the proficiency of our Marines and the Navy as a whole. Our Marine Corps regularly conducts retraining activities - rotational to every battalion to refresh their skills," Serapio said. The first four AAVs were delivered last May and activated during the 121st founding anniversary of the Philippine Navy on June 17 at Naval Base Heracleo Alano, Sangley Point, Cavite. The second batch arrived in August and activated during short ceremonies at the PN headquarters in Naval Station Jose Andrada in  Roxas Boulevard, Manila last September 23. The AAV contract, worth PHP2.42 billion, are armed with .50-caliber machine guns, 40mm grenade launchers and smoke launchers and will be used for amphibious landing operations. They are based aboard the two strategic sealift vessels -- the BRP Tarlac (LD-601) and BRP Davao Del Sur (LD-602). (PNA)

YATTA OFF TO SINGAPORE! Beginning October 13th through the 15th, the Asian Youth Theatre Festival in Singapore will host ten youth theatre companies from across Asia! This festival aims to facilitate cultural bridge building, while also challenging young people to discover their past in order to positively influence the present as well as their future. The Philippines will be represented by the Youth Advocates Through Theater Arts (YATTA). This youth and young adult theater group, based in Dumaguete City, began in 2005 after a group of young people were trained by PETA artist-teachers Dessa Quesada Palm and Jeff Hernandez to perform an original piece addressing the issue of child sex trafficking. The theme of the performances and workshops for the Asian Youth Theatre Festival is "Cultural Diversity." YATTA will perform an original piece “Dagit” for the festival. “Dagit” depicts the story of two courageous girls, Amor and Lina, living in a shelter for rescued children. The two girls are drawn to each other and soon discover that they are both from Dumaguete City. Amor tries to get the shy Lina to warm up to her by sharing memories from home and by vividly recounting her grandmother’s stories of Dumaguete’s past, and how it got its name from dagit. “Dagit” artfully weaves together the story of the people of Dumaguete being enslaved by sea pirates many years ago with the modern-day reality of enslavement or human trafficking. The story arrives at a hopeful but indefinite conclusion for Filipinos.
