#daily devotion

As my mind relaxes and thoughts our no longer present, my heart opens ready to be filled without preference. This heart opening gives birth to devotion, something that the mind can never know. So I rest as my heart fills my soul with devotion.

“Then Moses said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33:15‬ ‭ In essence Moses is saying, “God, if You’re not going, I’m not going.” God offered to send the Israelites along their way with the protection of an angel. He promised them victory in the Promised Land. But Moses said: “I don’t want Canaan without you. I want You, O God.” Are we longing for God’s presence more than anything else? Is there anything today that you want more than God’s presence? Think carefully. Examine yourself and set your priorities straight.

Traditional Daily Devotions
I want to preface this by saying that daily devotion is not necessary. These are supposed to be simple, habitual moments and for the ancient Greeks it was easily incorporated into every day life. These actions do not need to be elaborate or time consuming, and could be a simple idea to fit seamlessly into your week.
Libation = offering of liquid, and pouring it out in sacrifice to the theoi
Morning and Night Libation and Offerings
[...] as far as you are able, sacrifice to the deathless gods purely and cleanly, and burn rich meats also, and at other times propitiate them with libations and incense, both when you go to bed and when the holy light has come back, that they may be gracious to you in heart and spirit, and so you may buy another's holding and not another yours. - Hesiod Works and Days
Hesiod calls for a libation and the burning of incense morning and night to the theoi. This could be as simple as an offering/pouring out of water with a small prayer or words of thanks, and lighting incense - as described below from the Iliad.
Libations With Every Meal
The sponde is performed whenever wine is drunk. Before drinking one’s fill a libation is poured; this is already found fixed in a formula in Homer. [...] When Achilles sends Patroclus out to battle, he takes from his chest the cup from which he alone drinks, cleans it, washes his hands, and draws the wine; then, stepping into the court, he pours out the wine and, looking up at the sky, prays for the victory and safe return of his friend. - Walter Burkert Greek Religion
Wine was drunk with every meal - and probably many other times through the day too! - so a libation with every meal would be appropriate. As described above, this would involve a small pouring of wine (or whatever liquid you choose to use) and a short prayer.
Traditional libations included:
Hestia, who is First and Last and granted the right to a portion of every offering from Zeus, is therefore always included in these daily offerings. There are specific rules for symposia for the order of who should be offered to, but it ends with “each participant is free to invoke a god with further libations.” Therefore, as potentially the sole participant, you have the right to invoke whichever gods pleases you in your daily devotions.
For Limited/Secret Worship
For times when you need to keep worship a secret, morning and night libations could be a simple as pouring out water in the bathroom (maybe when you’re brushing your teeth, which is also a purifying ritual!), and meal time libations could be a mute cheers before you start.

Daily Devotion for Apollo
the sun shines through my curtain
where i feel your warmth on me.
in that moment i feel certain
that everything i need i see;
i see you smiling through the warmth
i see you reassuring me through your light
and in that moment it all feels right.
i thank you Apollo with all my love,
as i hope my respect can appreciate your might

Prayer for September 19th
Heavenly Father, we celebrate all the great things that are happening in our lives. We celebrate prodigals returning home, bodies and minds miraculously healed, relationships mended, and peace in our hearts. Thank you for the many, many ways you draw near to us every day. Lord, we pray that we would be like the leper who came running back to you, excited to thank you and offer you praise! You are amazing God, and your love for us surpasses anything that we can understand. Your goodness, your grace, your forgiveness, and your blessings are great. We love you with our whole hearts. And we pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen!

As long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.
-Galatians 4:1
It’s easy to make excuses in relationships. “I was rude to her because she was rude to me. I shouldn’t have said it, but I was so tired.” No, you have God’s grace to always treat others with love and not say hurtful things.
You can either feed your flesh and say and do what you feel, or you can feed your spirit and keep your mouth closed and do the right thing. The problem is that if you keep saying everything you want, you’ll stay a child. The Scripture says that even though you’re an heir of God with an incredible inheritance that belongs to you—joy, peace, favor, promotion, and abundance—if you remain a child, it won’t be released.
Sometimes we let small things keep us from the big things God has in store. In the big picture, it’s a small thing to tame your tongue. God is simply asking you to use your words and actions to bless and not curse, to build up and not tear down.
Father, thank You that You have given me Your grace and power to speak loving words. Help me to stop excusing any hurtful things I say or do to others. I declare that I will tame my tongue and walk in the incredible inheritance You have for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions. —1 John 3:18 The Bible declares that God loved the world so much that He sent His Son to die on the cross. The moment we come to Christ, the Scripture says, God gives us supernatural love that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The greatest demonstration of the fact that we are Christians is that we love one another. Why not go out of our way to be a friend to someone? Show them you care. I know it’s hard to love some people who constantly stir up strife. But you can love them—that is, you can be concerned about them, pray for them, and ask God to bless them or even change them and change us. Of all the gifts God offers His children, love is the greatest of all. God loved us at our worst. May we love like Him.

Izinkan aku bertanya satu hal lagi kepadamu..
Apa peranmu selama hidup?
Sudah cukup baik atau hanya sekedar baik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sosial manusia saja? Fransdeta

If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet... A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.

Reading for September 15th 1 Samuel 17:32-58
"Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?" This question is not asked by a priest, a prophet, a military commander, or even King Saul. No, this question was asked by a Shepherd boy named David. This young man had the Spirit of God in him and unlike the trained soldiers around him, he had great clarity about what needed to be done.
"I'll go fight him!" At that point, there may have been many men in the army of Israel, but David was a warrior. To be a warrior for the Lord does not just mean that you fight in His service, instead it means that you have faith that God will go before you in the fight. To be a warrior for God has nothing to do with yourself, but everything to do with God. It's not our power, it's God's power. It's not our strength, it's God's strength. Saul, because he had lost the Holy Spirit, now lived in fear. As such, his men also lived in that same fear! Saul, who was supposed to be a mighty warrior, king of Israel and her armies, and was himself a tall and strong man with cowardice enough to allow a boy to take his place in battle. Just as David is an example of boldness, courage, and faith, Saul is an example of fear, weakness, and poor leadership.
"David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—" I LOVE this verse. David's words are dripping with righteous anger. This reminds me when Jesus became angry at Lazarus' death. Things were wrong, out of place, and dishonoring to God. Jesus' stole Lazarus from the grip of death. Here, David will send Goliath to his death. As Romans 12:9 says, "Hate what is evil." Goliath's words and actions against God are evil, and David will carry out his punishment.
Running towards Goliath, David grabs a rock from his pouch and fires. David became the world's first sniper. One shot. Goliath down.
What is your Goliath that needs to be conquered? Is it fear? Lust? Jealousy? Envy? What is the attack that Satan levies against you that it's time to grab hold of your righteous anger, hate what is evil, and run headlong at the enemy? Regardless of what it is, here are some tips from David on how you can conquer your Goliath.
We cannot conquer anything on our own. The Lord goes before us and fights for us. He alone gets the glory, but we have to take the steps.
Run right at it! No one has overcome their struggles by doing nothing. Run headlong at the thing is trying to take you down.
Be precise. Take your absolute best shot at your Goliath. This isn't a time to pull punches or play defense. No, plan your shot, place your shot, and make it count.
Fully conquer. David left no opportunity for Goliath. I mean he cut off his head for crying out loud. No coming back from that. When you seek to conquer the Goliath in your life, cut off the head and leave no room for going back. As the For King and Country song says, Burn the Ships.
Finally, celebrate! When you've gone to victory, give all praise to God. He fought the battle and he earns the praise. Don't be shy or timid about what God has done in your life.
