With Ramadan of 2024 comes a huge responsibility on the shoulders of Muslims worldwide. This year we all have witnessed the most atrocious genocide of the century which still goes on as I type this. Gaza bleeds and people are dying of hunger each and every day. The least you can do for them is to change your iftar habits this year.
Keep your Suhoors and Iftars as simple as you can because there are people in the same world who don't even have a single morsel at their Suhoors and Iftars.
Keep on boycotting pro-Israeli products in your daily life.
Avoid throwing lavish iftar parties and attending big-fat iftar buffets because this is simply inhumane considering the mass starvation in Gaza.
Don't post videos or images of your iftar on your social media handles. In fact, for this month put a full stop to the food streaks because you can do without showing off your iftar preparations, but Gaza is battling for its survival.
Donate to Gaza as much as you can. Even the briefest of the amount makes a great difference to support them.
Pray for Gaza and Palestine in every single prayer. Prioritize praying for them before your own selves because at this point nothing is more significant, no wish, no desire nothing when compared to the trials of people in Gaza. Dua'as work like a miracle and we never know whose dua'a gets accepted.
PLEASE DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT THEM, SHARING THEIR STORIES WITH THE WORLD, KEEP ON PROTESTING FOR THEIR RIGHTS, AND FOR THEIR LIFE BECAUSE THIS CAN SHAKE EVEN THE STRONGEST OF THE POLITICAL EMPIRES.

Jumu'ah Khuthbah: 11 November 2022
This week's spiritual highlights were a many Alhamdulillah. Life's lessons can easily be forgotten because we are insan (forgetful) after all. Alhamdulillah for Ammu's Khatheeb duties which forces us all to meaningfully reflect on Jumu'ah, Ya Shakur and bismillah...
#1. Shaykh Nishaat reminded that when we're seeking Allah's intervention, we must do so with an open heart and open mind. I say, as our comprehensive dailly dues as I refer to them, allows - Subhana'Allah! We don't necessarily have all the knowledge, and only Allah knows all as Al-Alim (the all-knowing One). We know what has been made clear in the Quran, but there are many levels of faith that we are blissfully unaware of! Awliyah are the lights of Allah.
Our Pir (founder) Shaykh Abdul Qadir Geylani is revered as Sultan e-Awliyah (moral or spiritual authority), Ghous e-Azaam (the greatest helper). He reaches all of us mureeds, through the Qadiri-Rifai Sufi Tariqa, which means he (Allah bless his secret) will be there for all of us! We have to be true to our medet (pledge), when we follow our daily dues. Why else would your Ammu be alive after a 2-month coma, Subhana'Allah × infinity! And for this knowledge coming at the enth hour of her Khuthbah preparation 😢
https://www.aqrtsufi.org/aqrt/geylani-bio.html
#2. Shaykh Taner then asked a question on a simple truth that we often unconsciously do, that is wipe our faces after dua'a (supplication) and say ameen..? To wipe the blessings on our faces, and ameen is a profession which indicates "I believe".
#3. Shaykh Taner then continued to resonate Al-Haqq (the truthful One) by stating that Allah is different frequencies. In order to be with Allah, we must move from habitual action to being conscious of them. We must bring all things back to Allah indicating that we truly mean it. From the simple to the great things, we must acknowledge the source and connect to Allah through all the different frequencies. So that a variety of Allah's behaviours can be exhibited in the universe, in us as His manifestations with open minds.
Allah is after all, closer than our jugular veins. Allah knows reality and when we get haqq al-yaqeen (knowledge with certainty), we'll know - as this Khuthbah coming together at this late hour. It proves what our tariqa professes, there is always more and Allah exposes to each of us, what we possess in our understanding of things! Allah feels what we feel through remembrance of Him in time and space as His manifestation. Now to sounding like your Aunty Rubina's spiritual twin 😁:
Alhamdulllah
Subhana'Allah
Allahu Akbar
#4. When Shaykh Taner connected with what Allah wanted us to know in the moment, it was that even if we remember Him once a day, He will be happy! Subhana'Allah, as to what got your Aunty Rubina, Ammu and Abbu shedding happy and grateful tears!
https://islamkazikr.com/so-remember-me-i-will-remember-you/
#5. The cherry on the Khuthbah cake was topped by you children, Subhana'Allah! Your Shaykh Nishaat reflected that sometimes our lessons aren't necessarily taught to us but we acquire them by observing our spiritual mentors or the world deeply. Here he reflected when your Rehnbir Abbu was in the garden with the two of you. Muntaha came back with a pawpaw plant flower which it gave her, so she she placed her hand on her heart and thanked it, and the plant replied "You're welcome!". He marvelled at a young child exhibiting this level of awareness as a natural disposition. Alhamdulillah!
It proves that we learn by observing our environment, and with gratitude to Allah, He shows us that He is closest / acquainted to us as the all-aware One (Al-Khabeer which is our 11th name of Allah this year, Alhamdulillah) in the signs in and around us. We have to take the initiative as seekers as our natural disposition, like you children!
Tumblr media
Above: An image of a pawpaw plant flower akin to Muntaha's gifted one! 😊
Tumblr media
This takes us to our delayed Jumu'ah Khuthbah when your Abbu returns from his final Mauritius trip of the year in the heart and hearth of Shaykh Sadeck's family, where he will perform our Jumu'ah Zikr, Insha'Allah!

Salaam beautiful, first of all thank you for everything you're doing on this blog ❤ I'm lucky enough to know you personally therefore I know how trustworthy and benevolent you are, my dear. After weeks of reading the stories of all those sisters I would also like to share mine. It's a story that happened to me not long ago and only marks the tip of the iceberg, unfortunately. Without further ado let me directly jump into the story: Currently, I'm learning to drive. I'm taking classes. But to save some money my father wants me to drive with him for at least one hour a day. Sounds great, unless one knows what kind of person he actually is. I thought after all those years of living in this household I've already gotten used to his shouting, accusations and insults. But nope, I restarted crying on a daily basis. Until now, every little mistake I make while driving leads to him shouting louder and louder at me. Which makes it very hard for me to stay calm (even though I'm a very calm person) and not to lose my concentration. It's a vicious circle. There is no point in talking to my father because he doesn't see any mistake in his behaviour. In his eyes I'm the problem. I'm not only stupid and ungrateful but also wasting his time and ruining his health because he gets upset so often. I'm not even such a bad driver. Whenever I'm driving with others they tell me that I learn quickly and that they feel very safe. Two weeks ago we were on the road again. He already wasn't in the best mood because of his affair who didn't text him back immediately. (But this is a different story.) So as always I was nervous and started making some tiny mistakes. But this time he didn't punished me verbally. He thought it would be more efficient to punch me on my upper arm every time I made a mistake. Retrospectively, it was as embarrassing as surreal. Me driving our big family car in my hometown while crying and getting punched. I'm still praying nobody recognised me. I don't remember how many times I got punched but when I arrived at home my right upper arm was fiery red and hurt so much. Even now two weeks later the haematoma is still covering my whole upper arm and hurting. I know that there isn't really a solution to this. I just needed a safe space to vent and write it all down. It's already late so I'm very sorry if my storytelling might have been a bit confusing. Please, just make Dua'a and don't worry too much about me. I know Allah is always by my side and sooner or later everything will make sense, In shaa Allah 🤍
Okay, I am gonna start with something " fun " to alleviate the saddness of this ask. It gets me really curious and frustrated when you girls say on the anons that you know me personally but you don't say how you know me and you don't leave me any hints 😅 and I feel like had I been another type of person I wouldn't be able to even sleep at night getting all itchy wanting to know who this is or how to interpret the 'hints' 😂 except that I am too " meh " for this 🤦🏽‍♀️🙈 But I do have a couple of people on my mind. Both amazing girls. Both I love and admire 😌🤍 //
------------------------
Permission to give you a hug? Sometimes words can't do much, they would feel so hollow and superficial. But hugs are worth a billion words.🤍
I just want to say that I am so sorry. I am sorry you have to go through this all over again. I am sorry for the little girl inside of you who hasn't healed yet. I am sorry that even though Allahuma barik laki you are an established gorgeous successful driven young woman ma shaa Allah, these things still trigger you and affect you. I am so sorry for that. I am so sorry for you and for the millions of girls who can relate to this and who have been through this and might still be going through this. Like I said in a previous ask, maybe knowing that you are not the only one going through this would make it feel less horrible? There is a quote that I saw somewhere that I love so much : women and the earth have to put up with (or something more poetic).
I wish I could say that things would get better, and that this can be fixed. But there are things in this life that are beyond us. Here, we are dealing with an accumulation of generations of abuse and violence and inability to love nor to show affection. Your father (and I am not defending him) still has a little boy inside of him who was never loved the way he was supposed to be loved, he was probably never shown affection from his own father nor ever heard the words " I am proud of you " , a little child who was hit and verbally abused on daily basis, probably called names and insults, probably told that he would never be successful or amount to anything. A little child who was told to suppress his feelings and never cry and be tough cause he is a man.. you get me? All I am saying is, even the villain in our story is a victim at the end of the day. I think the change really happens when we can finally see the pain in them that's hidden behind the tough face and the insults. I hope one day you can reach a phase where you are comfortable enough, brave enough and peaceful enough in your life to see things from this perspective. I don't want you to force yourself or guilt-trip yourself or pressure yourself into forgiving him for his abuse. I just want you to understand where it's coming from, and hopefully you find peace in understanding.
Our mission is to create a generation of women who are healed (or healing) enough and brave enough to break this cycle and not let the pain and the abuse be transmitted to the future generations. And that's one tough job, not for anybody. Only the special ones, the toughest ones, the extraordinary ones, so embrace it 🤍🤍
On a positive note, here's a thought: there is balance in this life. Nobody has positive things and goodness, only. See, having a good caring supportive father wasn't written for you. It wasn't given to you. But for everything we don't get, we get something much much more valuable and far better. So, look around you, count your blessings, and see if there is anything or anyone in your life that you got from Allah swt that could make us for the lack of love and affection on the father's side. Maybe your mom? Maybe a good sibling? Maybe a personality trait in you? Like your kindness or your intelligence or your beauty or your health or your faith? Orrrrrr.. maybe ME 😅🙈🤦🏽‍♀️ JK.
Now the question is: would you rather give that blessing back in exchange for a different version father or would you keep things this way? Always look at the bigger picture my dear, even what seems unfair, makes sense on the bigger scheme of things: always look for the balance.
May Allah swt increase your faith and your hidayah my beautiful sister, may Allah swt ease your pain and heal your deepest wounds. May Allah swt fill your heart with sakinah and peace. Ameen 🤍🤍.
Stay safe my dear 🤍
Fi Aman Allah 🤍
- A. Z. 🍃

Dua-e-Noor
It is reported in Muhaj al Dawat by Sayyid bin Tawus that Bibi Fatimah Zahra (a.s) taught this dua'a to Salman Al Farsi (a.s) The Holy Prophet had given this dua'a to his daughter with instruction that whoso recites it daily, in the morning and evening, remains safe from fever.
                                                                                              بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْم
                                                                                      اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

We have gone through some of the days in our lives in which we get detached from our daily routines and home chores, we feel frustrated without knowing any reason, we feel upset without any cause, we lose interest in everything thing especially in Namaz. And we try to conclude the results, which are often negative and our mind usually says that O' Dear, there's nothing to worry about, relax! But that palpitation of your heart remains the same your worries remain the same.
"The worries about the future the regrets of the past!"
We start reading something for motivation, we start watching some motivational speakers but it works until when the book is open or the screen is on & when you turn off those things you became that same person after an hour or two, most often what we observe after doing these things are...
(Let's observe our interest again)
let's start making a new motivational writing page, a freelance account or a YouTube channel, or some other online business. Even though we know that these are not from our interests or concerns but the majority of us do these things. And what happens then, what we were doing before even we lose that, after wasting 4 or 5 hours while thinking to start again we end up wasting time.
It works occasionally but not with everyone.
So can't we stick to one thing and try to get proficient in that instead of concluding and observing ourselves every month,
Can't we watch the videos and tutorials of the same thing we are doing now, can't we stick on a single thing at a time!
Instead of getting inspired by others' work, we can appreciate them and we can make Dua'a for them & yes we can inspire others too... from the work we do all we need is to treat ourselves positively, have patience, confidence, and trust in ourselves and Allah of course.
Things will get better each day Insha'Allah your palpitations will turn into your excitement Insha'Allah.
Trust Allah!
Trust your efforts!
Trust Yourself!

The Holy month of Ramadhan is upon us; this is the month in which Allah (SWT) has commanded us to fast from before dawn until after dusk. However fasting is not just abstaining from food and drink, but rather the main purpose of fasting is to gain 'self restraint'/righteouness as is stated in the holy Qur'an:
"O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may observe self restraint/righteousness (al-Taqwa)." Surah 2-Baqarah, verse 183
During this blessed month of Ramadhan lets challenge ourselves to practice self restraint by striving to do the following and more:
Whole body fasting. Fast with your ears: Do not listen to anything bad such as gossip, music, useless talk, etc. Fast with your eyes: Do not look at anything wrong. Fast with your tongue: Do not say anything false, or anything that hurts others. Always speak the truth. Fast with your hands: Do not do anything that is wrong/forbidden. Use your hands to do good actions such as helping others. Fast with your legs: Do not go anywhere where sins can be committed. Walk on the right path Whole body fasting. Try to recite Qur'an everyday/regularly; learn from the Qur'an and Ahlul Bayt (A.S.). Strive to perform the 5 daily prayers on time. Help the needy/poor/orphans physically or through monetary donations. Recite supplications (dua'a) regularly; maintain conversation with Allah (SWT). Pray for Imam Mahdi (AJTF) and converse with him frequently. Strive to control your temper. Pray for our brothers and sisters around the world. Stand up/speak up against any oppression. Reflect on your daily actions before going to sleep, and take account of them so that you can improve the next day and throughout the month.

Jumu'ah Khuthbah: 23 September 2022
After a productive week in the background where your Abbu and Ammu were both blessed to present in the AHHI Symposium into its second year running.
Subhana'Allah and Ya Shakur for the meaningful resonance experienced both in our marriage, as collectively in our Tariqa! A sweet fruition of our dua'a seeking a loving and peaceful sense of unity in goodness::
Ya Wadud Ya Salaam Ya Jami Ya Nafi
Let's now reflect on the moments that led us there, Bismillah...
#1. Raeesa referred to special spiritual times which enable heightened connection. However, these times are more meaningful when we give of ourselves out of love ensuring a stronger spiritual transmission of communication with Allah. There has to be sincerity and a constant commitment to realise Allah's secrets.
Just as the early hours of my address where there was a hiccup in my memory about the loadsheddimg schedule 4-6 am, which we were prepared for. It had nonetheless lapsed my short-term memory! However, it enabled me to complete all my daily dues, conveniently before the delivery of my address. Subhana'Allah × infinity, for such sublime serendipity, proving that I foster a loving connection with Allah - Ya Shakur! Allah's secret that I merrily realised was how aptly my address was delivered despite all my angst 😅 I suffered only a few minor hiccups...
https://youtu.be/3whzXOtzPgY
youtube
Above: Hear me talk about the expected loadsheddimg, which was nonetheless an unexpected shock to the brain-injured accident survivor 😅
#2. Shaykh Taner implored, how do we live with Allah? Our job as Sufis is not to forget Allah, which is done through the mechanism of Zikr which translates as "remembrance". By committing to Zikr; we fight defiance, unhappiness, scorn and we let go of control. We are made to watch Allah by focusing on Him over ourselves, as an automatic reaction.
#3. When we make connection during rabita, we must do so knowingly and even all the time, Shaykh Taner continued. However I argue that sometimes rabita is done unknowingly, but the fact that my daily devotions were magically completed the day of my AHHI address morning shows that our spiritual lineage are our wings to Allah, especially when Allah has granted the permission and power to connect.
#4. By imploring Allah's name in all our actions in our sentiments of Bismillah, Alhamdulillah / Shukran Ya Allah, Masha'Allah, Subhana'Allah and Allahu Akbar, we move with how Allah lives. Who is living, Shaykh Taner innocently asked..? Huu is living, as our inspired ilahi that Ammu plucked the courage to perform during her AHHI address.
In fact Allah is living because Allah's face is everywhere! Wherever we turn Allah's face is there. Is our face Allah's face? We are Allah, as many faces and more...we have to have the courage to say so because our rabita saves us from Shirk / Idolatry. Our spiritual lineage through rabita takes us away from our nafs. Sufism is designed to maintain our focus on Allah, which is why your Ammu was easily able to answer Raeesa who interviewed your Ammu during the AHHI address. When performing an action, attributing it to Allah makes it beautiful and more elegant. So Shukran Ya Allah for a fulfilling AHHI address!
It's like when we are in danger, we call on Allah and thereafter recite our Quls and Surah Fatiha. However in thinking about our accident, and the fact that when the paramedics got to the scene and before I became unconscious, I'm told that I uttered my concern for you two, as my then babies .. It gives me hope that Allah was on my lips during those turbulent moments. The reminder of Allah is important to be brought back to our true essence. Each breath we take should remind us that we are from Allah and shall return to Allah. Is Allah the earth, Shaykh Taner continued to ring in our conscience..? There is Allah and His teachings, with no separation - we just have to cut our attachments.
#5. Aside from the inspiring sessions delivered by Stephanie and your Maryam Bhen, your Abhu blew us away too! Towards a better understanding of our nature, when acting with nafs as "disregulation", and when in "coregulation" / with Allah. However our "triggers" / separation from Allah, in life activates our "glimmers" / gratitude too, which help us to feel safe and wanting "coregulation" / a sense of unity with Allah. This ties beautifully to why we must remember Allah in all our actions, Subhana'Allah!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GG2Qz2j5Ha0&feature=youtu.be
youtube
I end this week's rich and purposeful insights with gratitude to Allah, for the opening of our minds and hearts. Now Bismillah to your Abbu's Arabic Khuthbah...

Jumu'ah Khuthbah: 8 April 2022
We are nearing the end of the first week of our Ramadan as the beautiful month of detachment, that we're all made to relish. Because I have a following, I will intentionally make this short so that we can "taste" the sweetness of Ramadan.
Let me reflect on some of my chosen goals as per my Ramadan Revival Journal. It first of all clarified that we're in 1443 AH of the Hijri / Islamic / Lunar Calendar. Again indicative of how the West eclipsed our rationalisation from Islamic wisdom. After all, Ramadan reconnects us with nature's / Allah's haq through the moon. We even know that the moon symbolises our Prophet Muhammad SAW who reflects Allah SWT. So bismillah...
Tumblr media
#1. I intended first of all to observe Ramadan with the Sufi Diet, being obliged to my antispastic medication as an accident survivor. This has been even more empowering than my regular fasts because I could look into the eyes of the toffee sweet that I craved, facing me on the table and reject it for the love of Allah! A tangible form of immediate success shared as a community of us.
Tumblr media
#2. The next goal was to complete Shaykh Taner and teams' Quran translation into the English language. As a Quranic Arabic former student, it has been emancipatory in connecting with its wisdom. All my apparent and hidden, inner enquiries about Allah's words are invariably being answered - Subhana'Allah.
Tumblr media
#3. We have been blessed to implement the Quazi-Bodhanya Masjid in Pietermaritzburg with Nana and Nanu. What most don't actually see is that it's partitioned as a side by side masjid, where men and women get to appreciate the Imam's energy equally.
Tumblr media
We have also been implementing our daily Zikr of Bismillah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar. This after fulfilling our toddler fast from non-Islamic cartoons, Subhana'Allah!
https://photos.app.goo.gl/typqKC8fDtAZUzn4A
#4. On Saturday Sohbet on the 1st Turkish Ramadan, did Shaykh Taner say that in Ramadan dervishes virtually go into seclusion for 40 days. As a time of contemplation / tefakkur (reflection) by cutting all our attachments to the outer, in order to rediscover our inner reality. Before that he joked "If you're man enough, do the Sufi Diet!" 😅
https://anselmthelost.livejournal.com/34690.html
#5. S39v20. But Satan whispered to them, so that he might manifest to them what was hidden from them of their private parts, and he told them, “Your Rab only forbade you from this tree so that you would not become two angels or become immortals.”
However just as Adam and Hawwa AS in the height of heavenly bliss, were tempted to go against Allah's warning against the forbidden tree. Similarly did I cave in my fervent focus on Allah during Ramadan, only to be brought back to Al-Haqq (the truthful One) after being shown the trappings of secular and material existence. Alhamdulillah × infinity.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.southmetroic.org/amp/the-story-of-prophet-adam-a-s
That concludes my Ramadan Khuthbah, with Ya Shakur for a successful work trip for Abbu 💚 Including dua'a for continued spiritual sustenance for us in the coming days of Ramadan:
Ya Ghani Ya Razzaq
