I'm thinking about that catboy game idea I had yesterday. Just gonna ramble out my mental picture so I can get it out of my head

Basically my idea is a more fleshed out Neko Atsume but with VN and Dating Sim elements. Basically main loop is planning a daily schedule to either build skills or earn money to buy things (tm) to put in your yard to attract catboys. Skills help you impress catboys. Each boy has their own route tho they don't stop you from romancing other catboys because catboy harem let's fucking go. When you max out a catboy's route then you can collar them which is basically like marrying them. Also, fuck them. They'll then either stay around the house permanently or will come around even if you don't have their preferred things(tm) in the yard. I don't think there would be an overarching story beyond MC really wants to fuck some catboys. Also, backstory, deranged because that's the kinda nonsense I like. Catboys are artificially created super soldiers that were used in a great war by a certain country that's definitely not based on any actual real world super powers. The war was lost by them and people were like "hey making cat (and dog) people kinda fucked up" so they country was like "yeah... we'll get rid of them" and the catboys didn't exactly want to be mass culled so they fled. Most countries are pretty anti-catboy but where MC lives they're kinda pro-catboy. If a citizen is willing to take responsibility (collar) a catboy then they can basically get a basic amount of citizenship otherwise they're shipped off to an interment camp (aka the pound). Which leads into the boys you meet being mainly strays that either escapees of the camp, or just wanderers trying not to get caught.

idk about dogs but when i was a kid we used to have a lot of stray cats in our yard that we fed and sheltered it was so funny coming home from school to a bunch of cats waiting on the front yard

i wish this was my life ... i go for daily walks with my roommate and one of our favourite activities is spotting the neighbourhood cats (and giving them names if we see them often enough hehe). it's like neko atsume but REAL
