Or the one where Peter struggles reintegrating in his own life after his dad lived five years without him.

A classic in the whole Peter feels misplaced after the snap genre, with a biodad twist that makes it extra angstier as he deals with feeling replaced by Morgan. Add the 4th of July, and some mini golf, and you have a great, beautifully written fic.

For the first rec, I’m going with my first bookmark on Ao3. I’ve recced this fic before, I think in my first irondad rec list, but that was forever ago and the humor and the fluffiness of it is needed here in 2020.

It happened like this:

Peter took one look at his shirt and laughed until there were tears spilling out of his eyes, and Tony was not about to let him get away with it.

This fic is sooo much fun, one of my favorite comfort reads when I need a laugh, and has Peter wearing a shirt that says if lost please return to iron man. Also it’s part of a series, and while this fic is my favorite, all them are true gold.

Summary

Peter’s tired.

The kind of bone-deep tired that doesn’t allow him to sit up straight anymore, like his whole body can barely keep itself from doubling over. Peter’s used to this kind of tiredness now, it’s something he’s grown to accept. Mostly because it’s really all his fault in the first place.

Peter’s absolute steadfast bullheaded stubbornness to only ever do his best as both Spider-man and Peter Parker doesn’t leave him with much downtown.

Listennnnn I love the trope where Peter’s all work and no rest until he’s reminded to please rest, please vacation, it’s good for you. This fic does that perfectly, and it mixed with sleepy Peter, with Rhodey fondly retelling that time Tony spent 5 days in a foreign jail and the all the other Avengers recounting their favorite vacations.

daily irondad fic recs

So, I’ve decided, just five minutes ago, that every day on my blog I will be shouting out one irondad fic that I've personally enjoyed in the past. 

This fandom is so massive, so talented, and has been going strong for several years, I think it’s time to shine a light on fics that may have been forgotten, lost in the feed, or just to remember fics that we have all loved and enjoyed. In other words, it’s based on my personal opinion, and not based on perceived popularity. That being said, it’s my plan to go as long as possible without repeating any individual author.

I’ll be using the tag dailyirondadrec so if you rather not see these posts, just block it and you’ll be spared. 

I’m really excited to start my daily rec posts, so the first one will be tomorrow!! I love everyone in this space, and I just want to celebrate with you all as we revisit fics, find new ones and enjoy each others talent!!
